Not gonna lie... that intro from DuduFilm brought tears to my eyes... absolutely, jaw-droppingly beautiful. This is a very hard match to call, but I agree with you, I might give the slight edge to Ahsoka. It could easily go either way though.

I agree that this match would be a toss up as both are extremely talented but I feel that Ahsoka is a tad underrated as a duelist and contender as a whole. I mean she dueled Maul(oh you know, the guy who contended against DARTH SIDIOUS) to a standstill when she was 17. That's extremely young to be dueling a seasoned MASTER who has killed many other Jedi but she's had a long time to grow since then, her abilities were insane when she was a teenager so honestly she is amazing now. And again in her fights with the inquisitors she beat them in like 2 minutes. That's a really short time for a duel especially since she overcame them so easily. And again she is underrated in her fight with Vader. She is fighting him in a place that is extremely charged with the dark side and after their duel Vader is shown to be heavily injured, limping away from the temple. But another thing that you tend to overlook is Ahsoka's key attribute. Her real strength is her precision, not her speed. In TCW it was her staple mark but she has grown since then and has continued to incorporate it into her style yet now her staple is her precision. In her duels with the inquisitors and Maul she is shown to fight quickly yet her precision is what wins the day against the inquisitors. And in her duel with Maul(which we didn't see finished) she's matching him quickly yet each blow from him has a counter attack from her and you can see her pushing him back. Ahsoka has become a much more powerful and balanced dueler than she is given credit for.
RH102 Maul didn't contend with Sidious. He was toying with him the whole time. Did you see his face? He was laughing like a madman the whole time. Maul was nowhere near good enough to actually fight Sidious.
Regifloat hm idk I was just watching it and definitely overall Sidious was toying with him but at a few parts Maul was definitely surprising Sidious. And even if I'm wrong about that in TCW's drafts for some of the later episodes Ahsoka came into contact with Siddious and survived with no injuries, something very few if any have ever done.
RH102 You're right. Sidious was toying at first. But when Savage died, Maul was going all in. Even Sidious was surprised and started trying just a bit. A challenge that he could still beat though. And after that he ends it with the force.
Thank you - finally someone pointed out the obvious. One of the measures of how a fight went is the condition of the combatants when it ends. Vader gets his mask cut (I thought he needed it to breathe) and walks away limping, while Ahsoka is shown walking upright back into the temple. I disagree completely with the idea that the Vader that Luke beat was anything like in his prime. That was almost 25 years on from his near death on Mustafar at the hands of Obi-Wan and the obvious defects that Palpatine built into the suit he crafted for him (to keep him from mounting an effective overthrow should that possibility arise).
No question that the symbol of SW is the distinctive mask of Darth Vader but it's amazing how popular Ahsoka has become. Many movie fans (like myself) missed the CW series (due to disdain over watching animation) the first time around but now are discovering its brilliance. And Ahsoka is at the heart of it. With the new series focusing on a female lead (Rey), more women and girls are now big SW fans and Ahsoka is their gal. Disney cannot imaginably fail to take advantage and do something more with her.
sensey07 I agree. Ahsoka dealt Vader a major blow in the fight, and its unlikely that he was just as strong as he was in his prime. After watching the video which explains that Vader got stronger over time in the original trilogy I think Ahsoka's fight explains why it appears that is the case. Its possible that Ahsoka dealt such major injuries to Vader during the fight that he had to get a new suit and recover from his injuries. That would have taken time and from what I recall Star Wars Rebels isn't long before the original trilogy (though I admit I don't know exactly how long it was before the movies) but I think that its possible that it wasn't so much the fact that he was getting stronger or that he was in his prime, but that he was finally recovering from his injuries and regaining some of the power he used to have.
If the two met, Ahsoka would be the level of Master while Luke is just starting to be a Knight.

Filoni's biggest problem is inconsistency, Grievous and Ventress are perfect examples. Grievous goes from contending with 3 council masters to being defeated by Gungans while Ventress goes from engaging both Kenobi and Skywalker simultaneously to being unable to kill a 14 year old Padawan.
I like Filoni for the most part, but he does suffer from character favoritism a lot

Yep.
Kinda late, but, idk if they sense the motives or emotions of those people. When she was killed, Anakin was still a brand new convert and nobody really knew of his betrayal and malicious intent until it was too late. She could have sensed Anakin walking up and thought of it as nothing more than a visit, or seeking counsel.
Why she didn’t run or something? The answer is simple they had to kill the Jedi so they mainly showed them killing off the council.
They (the writers and such) play fast and loose with this, or just ignore it

I think the fight would finish very quickly. Ashoka's fighting style is to different from anything Luke has ever seen before. Ashoka would definitely press the advantage and finish the fight quickly before he adapted, especially if she knew he was skilled enough to defeat Vader.

It's fun because nowadays Ashoka is still defended by plot armor and portrayed as the most powerful and wise force user, while Luke is dead after being portrayed as weak and coward.

If we took in the first canon (or Legends) then Luke would have like the most unfair advantage EVAR!
I'dve preferred that and here's why:
In canon where superpowers are a thing we always see a bad guy get uber god tier powerful but he gets bitched by lesser beings (Star Wars is as guilty of this as well.) And yet people get butthurt when a good guy is that broken powerful. The issue is that you NEED those obscenely powerful characters to tell you how far a Jedi or Sith can go and why people can then find interest in other characters. Essentially every universe needs a Superman and a Darkseid. I for one was quite happy having Luke being the Superman of Star Wars because we know his time is limited and we also know full well that even if he is a one man army, everyone around him is not nor is the planet he on immune to bombardment or getting Death Starred so there are limitations that keep the threat of "he can lose" a very real deal even if sometimes the battles border on the absurd.
And I always felt Star Wars got cool when they allowed the Jedi and Sith to just cut loose with their power instead of the more subdued actions of the movies and TV shows. It reminded me in a good way of Japanese shonens like Bleach, Naruto, DBZ, and so on where you can go completely styleized insanity and be invested in just how insane a situation get because Star Wars is ultimately about that morality between light and dark with the rest simply being window dressing. With that in mind, when Star Wars media (novels, comics, KOTOR/SWTOR) allows creators to go there, it becomes awesome. That's my problem with the new canon: It focuses too too much on the things as a fan I really don't give a SHIT about: Gun toting pirates and soldiers shooting dudes in white armor and if you're GENEROUS, a cyborg Sith Lord in a black helmet.
If you ask me, much of legends is just a bunch of bandwagon bullshit so people can hype up canon characters like palpatine and Luke. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of good stuff out there.
Look, she is basically a Sentinel, with her quick fighting prowess, connected with form IV and starkiller style fighting, with a reverse grip and 2 light sabers.

I really think the fight would end in a draw, neither managing a definitive win and ending in a truce. Unlike Vader or Anakin, their strength is their compassion, not just combative skill.

That is correct. Legends Luke was the best/ most powerful Force user and duelist of all time in his prime, cannon Luke beat Vader then immediately lost all credibility as a warrior and leader when he got pwned by a bunch of schmucks lead by a field commander who can't beat a freaking n00b.
I don't think so. Legends/Canon Luke up until ROTJ are virtually the same.
There are supplementary stories in Legends that paint both Luke and Vader as much stronger than what Canon does.

And then to have him be what he seemingly is now (he has some 'splainin' to in Last Jedi) it saddens me. I really, really like Luke's story in the OT, notably in ESB and ROTJ. Now ... ugh.

You mean the 30 seconds in the force awakens in which he doesn't say a word, the one minute in the TLJ trailer, in which the only big character change we're getting is him thinking it's time for the Jedi to end and Mark Hamill saying he doesn't really like where Luke stands as a character? Yeah, after all this information it's already very easy to determine if what they did with Luke in the sequel trilogy is good or bad.
But seriously. Stop over thinking every letter in a statement and wait till you watched the last Jedi to form a proper opinion of him for yourself.

I personally disagree that Luke fought the better version of Vader. Vader was way past his prime and no amount of force augmentation would get him to the strength and speed during revenge of the sith. And since that is closer to Ahsoka’s fight with Vader it is actually quite obvious that Ashoka faced the more powerful Vader, at least when it came to dueling. Also when it came to dueling abilities Luke was fighting someone with the same form while Ahsoka was fighting her counter form. This shows that Ahsoka has enough skill to hold her own, at least for a while, against her own counter form. Like has not shown this.
Also I think we can all agree that if Luke wanted to kill Vader he probably could've.

Very happy since Ahsoka rarely seems to win. I've always found her to be a much more interesting character than Luke. He's easier to identify and sympathize with I guess but still not as interesting in my humble opinion.

That's what I think too! I'm actually planning a series analyzing all Star Wars fights, and that's one point I want to highlight.
I would definitely watch those, so I hope it comes into fruition
Another great video as always, especially since this features arguably the two greatest heroes in all of Star Wars. I'm also happy that Ahsoka won (since she's my all-time favourite Star Wars character), but I definitely think Luke is good enough that this would be a close match.

Ashoka would completely overwhelm Luke in the early-fight. Easily a 2-0. Ashoka would use her feigns and acrobatics to quickly slice down a learning Luke. In addition, Luke would be so focused on her lightsaber style that Ashoka could get an opportunity to turn off his blades or disarm him early by way of the force (something Luke has yet to experience).
In the mid-fight, I see Ashoka holding a 4-2 lead. She would begin to integrate force based attacks and physical strikes against Luke. This could open up a few opportunities to succeed. However, Luke would begin to tank the physical attacks, using the endurance training by Yoda, but struggle with the force being integrated. After Vader used the force, he moved more methodically against Luke, giving him opportunities to regain composure in their fights. As seen in the Bespin fight, Vader, despite slamming Luke with caroming environmental objects, did not attempt to end Luke when he had the opportunity. On the contrary, Ashoka would chain her force based attacks seamlessly and then immediately pressure or assault Luke before he had time to look up and readjust. Finally, we do not know how Luke would even react to Jar'kai. If her speed wasn't enough to disorientate Luke, her wielding a second blade would amplify the pace of the conflict.
In the end-fight, Luke would get an easy 2-0 victory. As a result of the prolonged conflict, her speed and strength behind attacks would be hindered. Luke would deflect nearly all of her attacks while retaliating with heavy, yet quick, strikes that Ashoka could not deal with, as a result of her weakened defenses and flawed Ataru style. The only argument that could be made to downplay Luke in the late fight, would be how he would not yield the same passion and rage he did against Vader in their final fight. Without being tempted with the dark side (and fighting against a holding back Vader), he might not have the same result against Ashoka.
I think Ashoka would win. Being forged by the harshest war in all of the Star Wars universe and directly being trained by the most powerful force wielder that existed, has its benefits. Luke would simply be overwhelmed by her speed and integration of both the physical and force attacks. In addition, she has shown the ability to adapt against foes from the quick and speedy, Ventress, to the methodical and powerful, Vader, while Luke simply lacked experience against anything but his father.

Gotta put it put there! Luke defeated Darth Vader, Ashoka woulden't stand a chance against Luke.
Also the fight isen't fair grown up Asoka vs Luke. Also Luke defeated Vader at a young age. But lets make it a fair fight Adult Asoka vs Adult Luke. Luke would stomp not a single point for Asoka. Adult Luke is the strongest sith/jedi.
If Vader (An even more powerful Dark-Side Anakin) said that Luke was stronger than Anakin. Then Ahsoka would not win. But i'm not saying she'll get man-handled around. It would be a close battle.

Also guys think about this the original trilogy was made on the 80s so they could do as many flips but in a cartoon they can make it look like a better fight
None of this is based on movie choreography. This is all based within the lore, notably the word of George Lucas who distinctly says the PT-era Jedi were the prime while Ben Kenobi, Vader and Luke were not. That said, I would not consider Ahsoka one of the prime Jedi. I would place her below the Kenobi tier, who is below the Dooku tier, who is below the Yoda tier.
At first my gut reaction went to Luke, but that was mostly because I'm so used to the plot armor being in favor of Skywalkers. If you pretend they're both no-name characters, I agree on Ahsoka's VERY narrow victory

Ahsoka now has more feats from season 7 plus the fact that as strong as Luke is Ahsoka has years and years more training than Luke which I think means Ahsoka takes this fight overall.

Luke is actually 5'9.
Anakin on the other hand was 6'0 at the time of AOTC but during the Clone Wars was 6'1 as noted by multiple TCW sources. In the ROTS novelization Mace notes how Anakin had grown as Anakin was now 6'2.

Okay so this is actually a tough one for me as well I feel like this is what I like to refer to as a Batman situation.
If this were not a singular fight to the death Luke could probably come back and kick her ass but in a one-on-one fight with both of them trying to end each other I think Ahsoka wins due to a combination of her fighting style and overall personality she's more willing to kill someone then Luke is.
now that said regardless of whether this is round 1 round 2 or singular fight to the death it's going to be a rough fight for both of them

Thank the lord you didn't use God-tier-Luke-knows-everything legends version. Using experienced Ahsoka and the still new but gifted prodigy Luke was a good match up, I honestly leaned toward Luke but I see how Ahsoka could've blitzed him with speed and experience. I'm glad Snips got the win this round. She earned it.

I listened to all of this, and it truly feels like it just screamed one thing "Plot Armor". Be it Vader, Anakin, or Luke. Luke *is* adaptable, but has always lacked the ability to finish things, as you said he uses compassion. You also mentioned Aikido, in my personal opinion, a person with 2 blades, force abilities, more experience, sleight of hand tactics mixed with speed *and* the note that she uses her enemies inertia against them, hence you have stated multiple times that Luke and Anakin both use *power* strikes. I love the Skywalker's as much as the next guy, but in practicality I truly see her skill set to be above both of them. However, I never agreed with the idea of Vader being a better duelist than Anakin, he was a hell of a lot slower and had to rely on the force imo to make up for his loss of mobility, though I feel his spanking for his prior arrogance did teach him to respect his opponents to some degree. Just an opinion, and only because I felt that your descriptions spelled out a clear win for Ashoka by the fact that she used more than enough tactics to get the job done as well as her entire style was the antithesis of their fighting style, unless Luke refrained from that and shifted into defense, which even then I do believe misdirection and her various methods as a whole would prevail, unless plot armor were to take effect.
Vader had the power and experience to back him... Luke... Until his potential is reached like in legends...Yeah she would dominate him, not without a fight, but still.
I honestly think Luke should've won. He can adapt to things like that, and when he does, it helps him grow.

honestly id like to see a revised version of this that would take account what we've seen of Luke in the Mandalorian and the fact that its him and not Ahsoka that's been training grogu. i dont really see why they would ever fight each other, but its kind of cool to speculate about where they stand against each other in there of dueling, force and physical abilities. yes Ahsoka got more experience but i still like to think that based on this video that Luke would eventually endure Ahsoka's attacks and win against her in the end
I think overall I agree. I think in the early fight Ashoka's speed and duel saber technique would give Luke a hard time... and if Ashoka scored a hit before Luke can adapt... well... that's it.
See what I don’t get is why he gives luke so much credit when it come to lightsaber dueling and adaptability. He had to fight Vader before and lost before he was able to adapt. So while he was able to adapt eventually he never showed enough skill to adapt fast enough to turn the tides in a single duel. So with ahsoka’s own style being so fast paced and aggressive I don’t see him being able to adapt at all in that first fight to have a probable chance of winning. I would give ahsoka a 7/10 advantage with the first fight. But if they fought again I could see this videos conclusion coming out. Being a 5/10 split and a much closer fight.

Personally, I think Luke has the edge due to his insane reflexes and speed tracking. I don’t think Luke’s feat against non-force sensitives makes him any less impressive, he’s got way too good reflexes

I heard you changed your original verdict, like, hours ago. I would have gone with that original verdict personally but I do understand how folks would neglect to consider how difficult it would be for Luke to adapt to Ahsoka when all his dueling experiences revolved around Vader.

For some time I've wanted to purchase some of the Star Wars novelizations and learn from the fight scenes written in those books. As a Star Wars savant, which Star Wars novels do you feel have the best fight scenes?
Revenge of the Sith novelization. Easily.
This was an awesome video, man! I think I watched it before but sometimes you can't fully appreciate these things until you've watched them a few times. It's really hard to judge the legacy character's actual skill levels due to the limitations of when the original movies were made. According to the novelization, Vader got better (somehow) between Episodes IV and VI yet he is still slower and much less refined of a fighter than what we've seen in canonical things that occurred BEFORE Episode IV (like Rogue One and Rebels). The books and context of the fights would have us believe that we are seeing something truly epic but what I actually SAW wasn't super impressive so I honestly don't know how to call it. Really, I think I need to see some new canonical showing of Luke fighting against other force sensitives post Episode VI (but not super far into the future) to get an idea of how good of a fighter he's supposed to be in canon. Seeing him in Episode 8 won't necessarily do anything as this will be "Old Luke" and we want to know how truly great he was in his prime.

edit: just finished. again I say great content. maybe a crossover sometime? Wolverine vs Urai Fenn, both have a healing factor, and urai fenn's blades (going off of shotty early 2000s game machanics) seem to be made of either cortosis or phrik, since I beat the emperor with him in Empire at War.
The next planned crossover is Thrawn vs Kahn (which is gonna take a lot of time to figure out how it'll work).
Take into account that Luke is also almost exactly the same age as Ezra Bridger.
But he is more powerful than Ezra. Both EU Luke and Canon Luke.

Matthew White yes!! Luke was bad ass and even in defeat he still stayed by his family, maintained the Jedi order and was successful. That is the Luke I grew up knowing.
Another awesome video. Although I think it would end in the late fight, as Luke knows how to make a fight last, even when he's at the disadvantage. Coupling that with his unnatural ability to adapt mid-fight, I see Luke winning against Ashoka.

Luke won his fight with Vader, because Vader could not kill his own son.
Vader could also not kill his own apprentice.
Neither one actually faced Vader's full skill set or determination.
Actually vader was not conflicted about ahsoka he wanted her dead as she represented his past and the jedi. Where as luke was a new beginning and was conflicted.

Main problem of Ashoka is, she didnt realy win against any noted force user (not counting those inquisitors rly, even for those no killing blows. realy?). She could conted for a while, but didnt end match, not to mention didnt end it early - whitch is time spam of supremecy in this matchup.
@@marianmarkovic5881 her fight against Vader she didnt really lose in a normal way. Initially vader force pushed her off the edge but ahsoka landed the first push on vader and hs wasnt near an edge. But it's obvious that hers pushed him farther away and at the actaul end to the fight ahsoka was attempting to sacrafice herself to save vader. She may have been on the defense for a large part of the battle but she didnt really lose.
