I always thought that what makes him the Rickest Rick is that his original motivation wasn't like the other Rick's: with him wanting to explore science. His was one that started with revenge which is why he became the best Rick.
He is so far technically shown as more powerful than the other Rick's as we see a lot of them dying, many even being killed by our Rick himself.
That's why they're scared of him... He is the Rickest Rick.
Except for Rick Prime. He's out Ricked our Rick time and again.
Rick prime is the rickest Rick. Our morty is the mortiest morty, like Rick says “the richest Rick would have the mortiest morty”, at the time we thought he was talking about himself but he was actually talking about Rick Prime seeing as he’s our mortys actual grandpa. He also says in S6 Ep1 that Rick prime is “the real deal”

the amount of lore rick and morty has is actually suprising
It was always a comedic animated show with alot of mindless humor and antics but also has always been quite immersive and deep, for example what i enjoy particularly is the multiverse and the extent of Ricks ability to explore it and craft any sci-fi contraption or device imaginable. these things make for endless potential in terms of storylines and plots.

Any American Cartoon that's lasted this long and is more Adult Oriented tends to have quite a bit of Lore. It's just that most of it we don't really think about or pay much attention to. Doubly so with the mix of Main Plot Heavy & Side Plot episodes the show has. Heck there's some real deep stuff in the 1 shot Dimensional Helmet Viewin episodes. That Beth & Jerry were always meant for each other, and they were secretly far less happy without each other.

I actually know why nimbus would know about Diane. In the vindicators episode in season 3 Rick tells Morty that he gets high or drunk with most of the people who try to kill him, so it’s very possible he’s gotten really drunk and high with Nimbus, and in the process he may have opened up about Diane to him and told him about her. Just a theory tho

I would also point out that the mr nimbus we see is from the dimension after cronenberg which isnt our ricks reality if mr nimbus actually knew Diane it was the Diane from that dimension

Mr Nimbus probably had a 3 way with Rick and Diane. Let's be honest Rick and Morty borrows heavily from the Fantastic 4. Mister Fantastic is considered the smartest person in the Marvel universe. There is the council of Reeds, instead of the council of Ricks. One of Reed Richard's main villains is Namor the submariner, who Mr Nimbus is a parody of. Well in the comic Namor is always trying to seduce Reed Richard's wife. It's how they become enemies, I'm guessing it's probably the same with Rick and Nimbus.

I don’t think Rick Prime meant to kill Diane and Beth. He’s completely detached from any concept of attachments. Where the bomb landed, that seems to me to say that Rick Prime wanted to kill C137.
That’s why C137 has been unable to find him for so long. He just did his own thing, and didn’t care to hide. And because of that, C137 was in the wrong mindset.
I think Rick Prime was trying to control portal tech inventions. Cause he says to C137, “what you’re about to invent” but then switches to “when we give you this technology”. Why the switch? If he’s that close to inventing it. He doesn’t need to be given it.
He might have known that Rick would go on to create the central finite curve
C137 was the original target. Rick Prime just didn't care who got hit in the crossfire.

And that’s why C137 was never able to find him. As the decoys said, anyplace they’d think to hide is a place they’d think to look. So, if C137 was working on the information that Prime meant to murder Beth and Diane and was running, than C137 would only be looking in places where a Rick would hide. But if a Rick wasn’t hiding, than C137 wouldn’t be able to think where he is.
And that’s why C137 has never been able to find him. Primes just been screwing around. When you think you lost your keys, you don’t think to look that they’re on the table.

I haven't come across discussions about this, but I find it intriguing that in the scene where Rick ventures into Evil Rick's dimension to reunite with his original daughter, the noticeable cracks from the end of Season 1 are already present. This raises the question of whether we observed a different Rick (potentially even Evil Rick before he rejuvenated himself) in Season 1, or if it's possibly an animation error.
5:37 Kind of interesting to note that this Beth that we follow in the show whom has a psychopathic streak is originally Prime Rick's Beth, whom he himself is shown to be exceptionally cold, cruel and ruthless. like father like daughter they say.

@csfperson1289 but the universe of c131 is nearly identical, the divergence happens when Rick and Morty there die, so that means another Rick Prime existed there until another C137 came and moved in, having identical adventures to the Rick we follow in the show, until he died. That means there's more Rick primes. Shit doesn't make sense when you really analyse it, unless Prime actively went about eradicating other him's

Rick prime is younger than "our" Rick because of Phoenix operation, where he transfered his mind to a younger version clone.

@@TDOGGisawsome you're right. If it makes it easier to understand, Prime rick basically has Wolverine's regeneration and aging powers and he is the only rick that has figured how to achieve it which is why he has such a distinguishing, younger look
I don't know that did you watched the last episode but it's not operation phoenix it's a copy not the original we saw that he has a tons of copys in space waiting to be waken up. That Rick Prime didn't had the same memories as the real one. The real Rick Prime is probably somewhere else and also old maybe not even inside of the finite curve. But he wasn't Rick Prime.
No he uses some kind of Nan-nites or some other robotic means to stay young and repair his body when it gets injured 🤔

Okay but if C-137 went back in time and stopped Prime killing his family, then there would be no reason for him to go back in time, meaning Prime was never stopped, so he still killed C-137s family.
These kinds of paradoxes are exactly why the show should just never mess with time travel. It's overdone in sci-fi anyway.
@@KeyboardSerpent While I agree they should stay far away from time travel.....they have enough with dimension hopping.....but many of those paradoxes can be solved thru time travel like in Avengers.....where you can't change your past, because any change just creates a new time line (or dimension depending on your definition of the word). So he could technically stop him, but it would be a new time line and they would still be deceased in the original time line.
I don't think Rick Prime thought to hide from C-137. He just doesn't need it. Also, not that Prime's target was Beth and Dayen. These are just random victims who broke Rick from C-137 in the future. We see in the show how Rick tries to hide his feelings from those closest to him, for the reason that the computer in Rick's house in his dimension said, everyone you love dies.
The fact that beth didn't notice that the guy was trying to harass her just before the viruses quick was great not many notice it
So if Rick Prime was one of many MV hopping Ricks and was trying to bring C-137 into the group... and only when C-137 refused did he kill Diane... Doesn't that mean that the majority of Ricks... those who accepted and went with Rick Prime... Still have living wives? Should there be an infinite number of Dianes with all those other Ricks? Or would they have been like hit by a bus the next day anyway?

I think it would be cool to see an episode that gives an insight into ricks childhood I bet his dad treated him similarly to how rick treated morty early on in the series around season 1 always telling him to do better and calling him dumb and telling him how science is important and what not.

the intelligence in rick and morty, although most prominent in rick, seems to be and inherent characteristic within the Sanchez's, as exhibits of ricks personality and iq are often seen in Beth, even summer and morty sometimes(especially in later szns)
Notice Rick Prime is the original Rick, the first Rick who invented the Portal Travel.
Things don't have to make sense or fit together with Rick and Morty. They know that as long as they keep busting out episodes everyone is going to watch. That's why the creators don't try that hard to make the series as a whole make sense. As long as they're making that money they've done their jobs. People just watch it for a quick laugh. Which is okay. People like what they like.

The thing that is contradicting is in season one and two he has a complete hatred for marriage making it seem like he left him. True you could argue and he was just hurting to bad to admit he lost her on his watch and couldn't do anything about it.

_B) Left/Divorced (ran/runaway,one night stand/s,less than favourable circumstances,ambical/non-ambical,you get the drill,etc-etcera..) some of the/their Ricks,leaving them single fathers (Whether by Rick getting full-custody of young Beth and/or Rick and Diane not technically tying the knot/staying a bit amiable with each other for the sake of this younger Beth here honestly;*Same Single father-Ricks and/or Proto-Morty Beth example still applicable from up above example mentioned in suggestion ("A") up here,so to speak of course honestly..?!)_
And/or _C) Combination of examples A and B respectfully (This (also) includes cloning a Beth/an already dead Beth and/or Diane-example from above*__-even to the point of some Ricks off going off to Adopting their own Beths,Á-la Morties from the (now-defunct) citadel of Ricks,unfortunately-there's even probably a citadel of Diane's somewhere probably,if that's a what-if scenario,so to speak so honestly-__ and the Diane left,and/or Diane's not talked about much in some alt.Dimesions honestly of course..some Ricks might've gotten embarrassed by that..even assuming THAT Mr.Nimbus took her hand in marriage/ran off with him then honestly..give or take,more or less..?!?!)_

I suspect this is because of the central finite curve in the Citadel of Ricks; Sanchez may have built the curve to contain universes that do not have his wife as part of the existenial storyline, apart from the other canon reasons for this device. I think he blames himself for the death of his prime family (i.e. Beth and wife) and thinks that by not allowing himself a second chance with Beth's mother is a suitable form of self-inflicted punishment.

was the squirrel thing cannon ? or was that a throw away bit. if you remember morty gets the thing that lets him hear what animals are saying , but the squirrels figure out morty can understand them and they attack. leaving rick and morty leaving that world. but they never really made it clear what time frame that had taken place.

The Diane that is Beth's mom had to have died from a different cause since the Rick that killed Diane killed that version of Beth too so if the original 137 Rick was the one that killed Eric's family and abandoned his reality may have been because Diane died or Diane died later after Mr nimbus got to know her if any of that made sense

I know we have no reason not to believe prime Jerry about beth and summer but what if they are alive? We see that buff summer in the s2 intro which is supposed to be canon according to the showrunners so a good portion of prime family is still alive imo, og Jerry is still a Jerry without any of the recent character growth, dude could have easily lied to Morty.
