Aaron Paul who plays Jessie almost died three times in real life during season 1 and season 2 the first time was when they were standing next to the RV and there was a tarp over them and it was really windy out so they had put a boulder to hold the tarp in place but the wind blew the boulder down and it landed right where Aaron Paul had been standing the only reason it missed him was because he asked the director if he should stand a foot over so he moved over about a couple of feet and the boulder fell right where he was the other time was in the trunk Tuco slams the door back down and on Jesse and the trunk door had got stuck and no one could get it open leaving Aaron Paul in the trunk of the car until they could pry it open he said it was so hot he thought he was going to have a heat stroke in there then after that him and Tuco had the fight where to go throws him through that screen door and the door broke over Aaron Paul's head and he went flying and hit the ground giving him a concussion and the actor who played Tuco thought he was acting and was continuing beating him up in the scene until they realize he blacked out and they had to put him in an ambulence where he woke up and they had told him he had a cuncusion so that scene that they kept in was the real scene of Aaron Paul really getting beat up lol poor guy he is a phenomenal actor though you will see how good he gets in the rest of the episodes and seasons
Back before satellite location was standard equipment installed on cars, it was an aftermarket option. In the states, a company called Lo Jack was commonly known as the company to go to to get this option put on your car. After talking to Jesse's Mom, Hank called his partner to see if Jesse had a LoJack system installed on his car. Jesse did have a Lo Jack installed (because low rider cars become expensive with alterations) and THAT is how Hank found the car.
10:48 - The performance of the great Raymond Cruz as Tuco is incredible. He had a hard time playing such a vicious character. In fact he said his wife barely talked to him during filming. But what a performance!
Yeah, IIRC, he asked to have the character killed off because it was too exhausting for him and he had a competing opportunity with another show opening up.
"How did Hank find them?" The car had a lojack - an 90s-2000s anti-theft system that sends your location to a central database (kind of like GPS). So he traced it.
Because you were both talking about the 'bouncing car' as Hank was leaving Jesse's mother's house you missed a crucial detail. Hank was on the phone to his office asking if Jesse's car had 'Lo-Jak' fitted. As I am sure you both know, Lo-Jak is a homing device that allows a fitted car to be tracked. That is how Hank found out where Jess's car was located. That was meant to be the Season One Finale, but it was postponed due to a writer's strike. It is one of the best episodes in the entire show, but there are even better ones to come...
Tuco's actor is so good. there were a lot of scenes between Jessie and Tuco where the actor was being too real and Jessie's actor was injured as a result. when he got thrown through the screen door of the house, that was real. Jessie took some actual head damage but the actor never broke character so they kept the scene. Edit: little fun fact as well: Tuco's actor didnt care for the role too much because it was too intense and very draining. he also felt uncomfortable playing a character that was so deranged and violent
This is one of the best episodes of the entire series in my opinion. Not to imply that it doesn't get way more epic than this - it definitely does. Yay Sharpshooter HANK!
@gregwillett2710 I'm completely with you. While the general opinion is, that Breaking Bad gets better and better over time (and I would agree overall), there are some episodes in the early seasons that are amongst the best of the whole show. And this one is definitely amongst them.
29:35 - Affirmative. It is High Art like this from here on out. But be forewarned, every episode ending is going to make you need the next one even harder.
@@nerdymarriedcouple Yeah, if you don't like cliffhangers, this is gonna be a rough show for you haha. I showed Breaking Bad to my parents on vacation one time... I arrived on Thursday and the next thing we knew, it was Tuesday. We just binged morning and night until my dad had to fly East for work lmao.
FANTASTIC reaction!!!!!!!!!!! You guys are great at this, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, you guys ROCK. I now suddenly want to see you react to every great movie and TV show ever made! And I mean EVER made! You can do silent movies if you want, you are great reactors, individually and even moreso as a team!! Love it. Thanks!
If the most excruciatingly tense episode in the series is a 10, then this episode is about a 3 or 4. Also: Hank asked Gomez to access Jesse's "lowjack" account so they could find the location of his car. If I remember correctly, this device was an old radio/GPS tracker installed in a car, and you could use it to find the location if the car was stolen. This is also the episode when we find out Hank is very good at his job. And, of course, this is not good news for Walt.
What do you mean how did Skyler have time to call all those places? When someone you love is MISSING you don’t just go about life as normal lol. That’s probably ALL she’s doing.
It is always so amusing how quickly seeming cultural references drop out usage and knowledge. Any adult over 45 (50?) instantly recognizes the phrase "goes together like apple pie & Chevrolet" from the ubiquitous Chevy commercials from the 70s that used the jingle "they go together like baseball, hotdogs, apple pie & Chevrolet"
I’m sure someone mention the writers strike that happened near the end of season one..I believe this was supposed to be the end of season one? Someone else can clarify?
Just out of interest, since I'm not familiar with the laws in the US: Would Hank be allowed to do stuff like tracking Jesses car and checking Walts phone-calls without a Judges order - and probably using his DEA resources for that? Or could he - in theory - get in trouble for that.
I would think he is technically Not allowed to use his resources like that but he wasn’t looking to arrest (or kill) anyone So? Who’s going to complain? He may leave that out when he explains the happenings that led to him shooting Tuco in the face.
@@jasonm8017 Thx. In this case, ofc nobody would complain. Walt certainly not, because it would blow his cover. Maybe Jesse though, in case they would have linked him to Tuco, to rule out all the evidence that was discovered by Hanks unauthorized tracking of his car. But that was not my point. I'm not complaining about the story, I was really just interested in the question in general. Because AFAIK here in Germany, you have something like a "right to not be found". If an adult goes missing, and friends or family file a missing person report, there is not much the authorities can or are allowed to do. As long as there are no indications of an accident, a crime, or the person has some mental issues (danger to himself). I was just wondering if it similar or different in the USA.
@scotthome3314 and everyone... That apple pie and Chevrolet reference was from a commercial made back in maybe 1965 or 1970. I believe it was a Chevy commercial.
Hey, I've been watching your reactions and they are gold! I've watched so many, but yours are among my favorite 🤩 I look forward to more for my favorite show. Possible the best tv show ever. Continue to enjoy 😀
I always thought of this episode as the finale of season 1. season 2 will slow down now for a little bit before coming to an epic trio of final episodes. but its for sure true that the seasons become better and better
Season 2 never slows down. If by “slowing down” you mean not every episode has someone die in it, then yes. But every episode of season 2 is interesting, has a natural progression of the plot, no moments that ever drag. Episode 4 down, is one of the best episodes of the season.
Maybe my favorite episode of the show (don't worry nobody agrees with me and thinks there are many better ones later). Writing was so brilliant. This episode was proof that Breaking Bad would be a special show not just a very good one. Later Tuco. You were up there with Heath Ledger's Joker and Begbie from Trainspotting as one of the best psychopaths on screen.
23:29 fun fact well not so funny but jesse had a concussion due to this scene he was unconscious for that part because it wasn't planed to play like this
Well, tbh the show isn't really that action packed. It relies on other qualities. And again - tbh I'm glad. Because it doesn't get outlandish and silly. A lot of other shows could get into shooting stuff etc and get silly along the way. But not BrBa. But hey, you'll see, you'll see the excellence of the storytelling and writing like you have no idea haha 😅

ah, very interesting
Well explained
The look on Kailyn's face for most of this episode is FANTASTIC.
This is the episode is when I knew that Breaking Bad was special and better than normal TV shows. I was so surprised at hanks arrival!
very special indeed 🔥
The car bouncing was a metaphor for Tucos heartbeat
10:48 - The performance of the great Raymond Cruz as Tuco is incredible. He had a hard time playing such a vicious character. In fact he said his wife barely talked to him during filming. But what a performance!

That's the great Raymond Cruz. His wife also hated the character. He said she barely talked to him during filming.
Hank used 'LoJack" to locate Jesse's car.
When Tuco talks about kidnapping them and taking them in the jungle "That sounds great man!" 😂
lololol
It only gets better and better with each season.

This was an amazing reaction. So much fun. Looking forward to the rest of the series with you guys.
Shoutout to Mark Margolis, who played Tio. He died in August.
The more times you see this episode, the more you see how great the acting is.
Drug Excavation Agency 😂😂😂
That's an agency I want to work for
