  • In 2000, the show Andromeda premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel, and it was a big event for science fiction fans since the series was the brainchild of Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek.
    Roddenberry died in 1991, but his wife Majel Barrett helped bring a script that she found in their home to television. Like all of Roddenberry’s shows, Andromeda had a wide array of colorful characters who were important to the story, and fans are probably wondering what the actors are up to today. Let’s take a look at what the cast of Andromeda looks like now.

      I loved the first and second seasons for the level of story telling. The show runner, Wolfe, used to be a writer in Deep Space Nine and it shows.
      That just made it so much hard watching the rest of the show where the vision completely fell apart and the beautiful writing was gone.

    Andromeda was/is one of my favorite sci-fi shows. I have NO IDEA why it never had a larger and stronger following except that it came out at a time when there was a wealth of other excellent sci-fi shows. It has excellent writing, production eye candy points (for whatever your taste) and a cohesive story arc.
    And they were not too proud to make fun of themselves. Example: In the last few episodes, Dylan was crawling through the back passages of the ship - in his quarters - and came across a sword: Hercules's sword. And he just said something like, "long story." and went on. What Moxie! you didn't have to get it to see there was something out of context. If you DID get it, you probably wet your pants laughing.
    Why, oh why is there not a sequel or spin off?
    Reality Check: When they get in a fire fight, they put on safety glasses. Of course you would: because shit is going to be flying EVERYWHERE. Note to combatants (and writers): If you get a piece of crap in one eye, you are fighting at way less than 50% efficiency. Put your PPE on, dammit!

If any script goes against his religious values he don,t play it . and this casued his moveis and shows to become boring . for exemple just imagine him playing the role of Adama In Galactica with his values of no killing or extreme violence values

    It's always nice to see actors make enough money to set themselves up for life, then taking roles they enjoy rather than roles to pay the bills.
    I've always wanted to learn which actors are comfortable with their financial status and which are still struggling after having played a regular role in a long running show (4 seasons or more). These shows often have brutal hours. After a few years of that, everyone on set deserves to be set for life. All the way down to the most minor of jobs behind the camera.

Sorbo was basically forced to step up, and keep the show running as best as he could. Wolfe took all his work for the show with him, leaving them to have to make their own story from that point on.
      Season 5 had no budget, and that's the reason it wasn't anywhere near as good as the previous seasons.
      There has been a rumor that it's Sorbo's fault for the shows change. Those rumors come from people that aren't really that big of fan of his, and want to blame him for the show going down hill. What Tarn-Vedra really looked like before the fall and becoming cut off and then inhabited by a weird series of humans but no Vedrans... correction to you intro, the show was not a hit for the scifi network, it was independently syndicated. midway through season 4 Scifi (now syfy) bought the rights and over saw the end of season 4 and then season 5 before canceling it
    Besides the show took a down turn when Majel Roddenberry fired Robert Hewitt Wolfe who brought the show to life, and when she took full creative control in season4 in plummet and season 5's jumping the shark was her idea. You can see the quality decline midway through season 2 when Wolfe was fired

    For Brandy Ledford you also skipped over her one Episode Appearance on the CW/WB Show Smallville in Season 1's Episode Stray, And speaking of I wished that this entire series is on Blu-Ray I know that Financially who cares about Physical Disc's anymore, but still I would like to own this entire series. And if was already available on Blu-Ray I wished I got the chance of owning it by having it available in retail stores and not just Amazon.

    • @PistonAvatarGuy
      @PistonAvatarGuy 6 лет назад +1

      Sorbo was one of the producers. It just seems like Sorbo would have been the one who ruined it by making it all about his character, it was like it was written solely for the purpose of inflating his ego. He's a simpleton and the show changed in a way that a simpleton would have had it changed, so that's my theory.

      The list has problems. It left out one of the initial cast members (Brent Stait/Rev Bem), got the info on Steve Bacic wrong (it was not season 2, but a later one) and the show aired initially in syndication, not on SYFY.

    Andromeda was great show but producer and writer was pushed from tv-show after season 3 as he wanted to involve entire crew in everything and he had big plans with big war with Meg and Niz but network wanted to make Captain Hunt a god and warships wer egreat in this show and Highard uniform as well but they chnage thier uniform in season 1 and I loved black one froms eason 1. Also after season 4 Network debt was huge and they still gave them season 5 but not the one they wanted a smoney was the issue and even actors had to take pay cut so they had to cancel Andromeda and Mutant X as the same network was doing it, thy wer ehoping other networks would take over but it neve rhappened if originall show runner stayed and did how he planned and if network didn't go broke this show would be awesome. I wish this show can come back but with the same show runner Robert Hewitt Wolfe even if different actors I wouldn't mind but actors in this show were great but kevin could do better job a she was also producing episodes as well after wolfe left.

    While I know that part of Andromeda was based on two different scrips of Roddenberry's, one of which was from the Planet Earth and Genesis II movie from the early 1970's, it is vary hard to so see a great deal of a late 1970's British Scifi series Blake's 7. Most of Andromeda's character have a vast number of similar aspects, to be carbon copies of characters from that series.

    • @VRIceblast
      @VRIceblast 5 лет назад

      From what I understand, the studio, fired Robert Hewitt Wolfe the creator of the show for no reason. The show was awesome up to that point. Robert was ticked, so he took every single note he had on the show, and his plans for the future story lines with him when he left.
      Robert did have blog up about it, and even revealed some of the future plans he had, but I don't know if it's still up or not.
      If Sorbo took control, it was probably because he had little choice in the matter.
