Seems like I hit a wall with my progression as a guitar player and kind of stopped having fun with it. Until I found your videos and now the magic seems to be coming back. Thanks for what you do.
You could play Jazz improv and Shoegaze/Dreampop. Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine are spellbinding. Effect pedals are another thing that is a blast to play with. I drink some Kratom tea instead of booze and it really puts me in the mood to play some Major7ths and Minor7th chords, or just improvise some Jazz, play whatever I feel and no note is off limit. It can be liberating 😀♈
@@ariesvictorygroup1743 that's crazy. Thought I was one of the few that knew about the magic of Kratom. Nice to see someone else who knows about kratom.
I feel the same way... Been playing for two years .. and was seriously thinking about quitting.. until I came across these videos... I am also going to purchase your course...
Request: Hey Jason, can you make a youtube video with just the drum backing for this riff... and others??? That way I can jam with what you taught me...sounds better with backing. I would greatly appreciate that brother. You are the best teacher in my opinion. ty
Thank you. I think I answered this in another comment, but I recently opened a Patreon to where I provide tracks to at least 2 RUclips lesson each month (not sure if I made them for this video). I also offer that for all of my guitar courses: metalmastermind.com
Jason, you are the best teacher in my opinion. Request: can you post a youtube video with the backing drum track you have for these cool riffs? Thanks again for sharing your talent.
Thank you. I do provide backing track in all of my guitar courses (metalmastermind.com) And I also provide backing tracks to my Patreon members for at least 2 RUclips lessons each month
Gotta tell you this, yesterday, I was playing around with a chord progression in Guitar Pro and I wanted to add a little riff not much, didn't even sound that musical to me - but, someone started listening at the door - I didn't see them - and they asked if what I was playing on guitar was from my guitar teacher (you know a guitar God) because they said it sounded good - and I said, "nah I'm just doing what that Viking told me to do" :) Anyway, it made me feel really good that someone said it was good when I was just using your ideas. Back to practicing this riff it's so 80s!
Alright! Dude - I can see the lighters held up high, and smell the Aquanet! That's why the lighters were always way up in the air - too low woulda set off a "hair-plosion".........💥 LOL! I know...... Excellent video! Keep doing the good stuff!!!!!!!🤘😁🤘 I loved growing up and playing in the 80's dude! Some of the GOA guitarists EVER! Randy Rhoads, Lynch, Bratta, Gillis, DeMartini, Tipton, Downing, Murray, Smith.....and on and on!
@@jasonstallworth my sister used to love gig night! She'd get some of her friends together and they'd all "spritz" up our hair. I can't believe how long mine used to be......shoulda kept some of that......I still have my ADA MP-1 and it still sounds great. I wish I would've held on to more of my Charvels and Jacksons. I had some really early models made by Wayne Charvel, and have a Wayne too. I know his place burned down in those fires a few years ago and he was rebuilding but I'm not current with that news. Great times, great gear, great musicians! I'm happy Metal has survived, especially guitar playing. How it ever got to "no guitar solos", and being somehow uncool to know how to play - I never understood the reasoning. Yeah, the recording industry was spitting out way too many copy-cats with unoriginal stuff, but no guitar solos??? That's like an episode of the Twilight Zone for sure!
You literally make the best guitar videos on all of RUclips you make it so easy to understand and always explain everything so well thank you so much for all your videos.
It's so good when you can picture a scene from a piece of music! I couple of weeks ago someone was playing an emotional piece of music and I could picture Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima.
You've nailed the tone for this type of Heavy Metal. It rings right in my memory. Make sure that you take note of your set-up somewhere, because it's damn good! :D
Thank you! Funny thing is this is the same tone I use for most everything playing through the EVH 5150 III red channel. The style comes out more in the way the notes are played.
@@jasonstallworth Effects or tweaking in the mix maybe? And then, there's that Ibanez V7/V8 older pickups compared to your 7 string ESP-LTD, because I've heard you play that EVH with much darker tones... then again...Maybe the tone is in the hands? Either ways, that was good.
@@Juicexlx Yeah the guitars can certainly make a difference, especially when you're talking active vs passive pickups. I am a believer of the tone, or more so the style, being in the hands.
I came across your channel recently. This is some great content, man! Just getting back into playing and feeling stuck. Your videos are great inspiration! Thanks for your knowledge and skills!

So I live how you make everything easy in your tutorials. I think for guys like me who have lost the skills, maybe you can give a tuning tutorial. I have a auto tuner but I want to get back into harmonic tuning and I cant get my ahit together.
@@jasonstallworth that would be awesome. I have seen some tutorials but they are always at weird angles. Not enough direction etc. It took me a good 2 hours this morning to actually tune my guitar by ear and harmonics. Yeah I am rusty as hell. That's why I love your channel. You're content helps me ease back into the life. It is simple with the right amount of complexity to branch off of, you make the point clear and simple for a layman to understand. Plus you have a fun personality. I seriously would bestow upon you as a neighbor who would get invited to a Brisket Smoke.
Got lost in RUclips, your video came, love your playing! First video I enjoyed on this jorney! You should be guitarist of "primal fear " band 😂 muscles and awesome playing 🤘😂
