    I have the exact same pair of shoes lol. Both of them actually. I personally have to go with the nanox1, i was surprised actually. Very comfortable to run with and workout, i feel more attached to the shoe compared to the metcons. The heel is very solid i liked it a lot. The heel drop is perfect for deadlifts loved this aspect. However i think metcons are more solid when lifting. Overall i wear x1 for all around wods and metcons for more lifting oriented wods. Great review 👍🏻

      Thanks for the input. It's always good to hear what others think about the shoe too - after all, I'm just one opinion!

    Which is better for flat feet?

    Your barbell clips had no sound. Just fyi. Didn't know if that was intentional or not

    • @fitatmidlife927
      @fitatmidlife927  4 года назад +2

      Thanks for the heads up - but that's intentional. There's little to be gained by hearing an old man huffing and puffing lifting weights.

    can you compare abouy the sizing? do they both fit same?

    • @fitatmidlife927
      @fitatmidlife927  4 года назад +2

      X1 is sized like the Nano X. I wear my regular shoe size. The Metcon 6 is too narrow for me (although long enough). I have to go 1/2 size up on M6 to get width for my toes.

    • @prekko8596
      @prekko8596 3 года назад

      Same here, I would need to get the Metcon 6 way too long to accommodate my feet.
      Interestingly the Nano X1 grit is for me even better than the 10 due to the fact that the toebox is higher as well.

    Is it me or have both these shoe not improved over the last 2 years. The metcon 4 and the nano 8 & 9 seemed to be better than the metcon 5 & 6 and the nano 10 & 11.

    • @fitatmidlife927

      Honestly, I think it depends on what you do in your workout. The Metcon 4, to me, was great for weights, but the 6 is better for running, impact stuff, etc. The X1 is really targeted more broadly than CrossFit, it's almost a running shoe really. So I get that many CrossFitters are not going to be interested in it.

    I see a lot of glue around the X1, and doesn't seem to be worth the money for the quality. The metcon has better quality. Nano X was good quality too. I don't know what happened. Also I don't understand why not many people talk about the NB minimus prevail. The hype and looks go to Nike and Reebok but the NB minimus prevail is a great quality shoe. I loved your video on that shoe and I hope to see more. Functionality should be as important, if not more important, as looks.

      @@fitatmidlife927 so just ran a few days in a row with them(~2-3mi, also slipped in some ON Running insoles from an old pair I had lying around), and man they're SOLID. I do think however, without those insoles my shins would be in agony

      Ive ran in them for 1.5 km twice and they are really good. If you have a high arch like me and heel stomper, they will serve you much better that the metcons

    Judging by the looks, the new Nano looks a cheap shoe! It looks like a cheap plastic shoe! Maybe in person it doesn't feel that way?!

      In terms of how it "feels" - it's definitely much different than the X - because of the drop. I've got a "Grit" pair coming next in a lighter colorway and we'll see what those look (and feel) like too.

    • @fitatmidlife927
      @fitatmidlife927  4 года назад +1

      The knit upper also doesn't hug the top of your foot as much as the X. I think some of those things contribute to the feel - but don't necessarily have an impact on performance as much. Consider also the X1 is 2 ounces lighter than the X. It doesn't feel as "well built" - but IMO lighter is better for a training shoe.

    • @beyondtraining_
      @beyondtraining_ 4 года назад +1

      @@fitatmidlife927 thanks 👍. The build quality of the X added some weight for sure! The X was a well built shoe! This one being a lot lighter is compromising on quality...it may not last as long as the X! But take the example of the NoBull trainers, it's light and extremely durable! Don't think Reebok nailed this time...at least for CrossFit it may prove to be a weak shoe!

    I´ve been a fan of the nano shoes, with the 6´s being my favourite. I bought the nano X1, sent them back after 1 hour, worst CF shoe I have ever had. Metcon 6 here i come

      Can you clarify on what specifically you didn't like?

    • @Aanginthesky
      @Aanginthesky 4 года назад +1

      @@fitatmidlife927 Absolutely,.. To me the biggest issues wore, that the heel support pressed into my anchle when walking/running in them. The other thing was that the heel-to-toe drop did not work for me. It felt too much like a running shoe, and that is not what I am looking for in a crosstraining shoe. What did work for me thoe, was the new floatride sole and the new upper material, that acutally felt realy good!

    • @fitatmidlife927
