    We have a LEGENDARY cross-training shoe showdown today which includes the Nike Metcon 7 Vs Reebok Nano X1 Vs Nike Metcon 6 Vs Reebok Nano X.
    With the release of the Nike Metcon 7, I've received a ton of questions about which model to go with. The Nike Metcon 7 is super different compared to the Reebok Nano X1, Nike Metcon 6, and Reebok Nano X, and each shoe has its own lists of pros and cons.
    In this Nike Metcon 7, Nike Metcon 6, Reebok Nano X1, and Reebok Nano X comparison breakdown, I've broken the video into multiple categories:
    0:00 Like & Subscribe
    0:31 Best for Lifting
    3:51 Best for Versatility
    6:51 Durability and Price
    10:35 Sizing Comparison
    12:59 Construction Breakdown
    My hope is that this video helps you assess which model is best for your needs. Personally, I like all of these models for specific activities - it really comes down to the context in which you plan to use them.
    The Nike Metcon 6 and Reebok Nano X will be your most stable options for lifting and feature a lower 4mm heel-to-toe drop.
    The Nike Metcon 7 and Reebok Nano X1 are both solid options for recreational lifting and versatile training with a slightly higher 7mm heel-to-toe drop.

    Thank you for all the effort you put into these reviews!! I have the most complicated feet, super high arch, wide foot, orthotics, and surgery on my ankle that did not heal well which causes further problems. Because most crossfit type shoes can not be found in stores, it makes finding the right shoe a process of constant returns. I really appreciate all the detailed information you offer which is what helped me to find the right shoe.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад +1

      @@D-Breezy94 depends on the context! In every cross-training shoes I do the same lifting tests, then add a bit more or less depending on the specialty of the shoe.
      For models that are designed for CrossFit or lifting, I make a point to deadlift between 455-515 lbs in the model and for squats I’ll make a point to hit between 350-405 which scales on the shoes and my training cycle.
      I eventually want to build a video sharing my testing protocols and explaining the rationale. Great question. I always try to share a loading reference. Plus, I’m not a huge fan of the reviewers who are like “this model is stable”, then share them lifting 135 lbs etc. For ex, what is that really telling someone who’s well past that threshold?
      Ps - I know I’m def not the strongest and it’s never a flex. Just an attempt to add more context 💪

(Didn't do a full heavy workout as had also got my covid jab a day ago, but could not resist to put the shoes on and try them 🤣)
      They are really light, comfortable and I like the fit.
      Before I just used to invest in a good running shoe and then also use them for training too, I was skeptical being a marketing & branding guy myself that training shoes are just another marketing hype but nah these do feel so good. (Was marketing manager for Mercedes Benz cars for 5yrs now run own consulting firm)
      The retail stores had them with the full price but I got 15% off by buying them from the Reebok website as they had this promotion running where you make an account and sign up online and get a 15% code in your e-mail and so I used that 🙂
      Not only they are so comfortable they look good too so my sister also put in her order for a pair of Adventures yesterday. (Ps also got my running pair of the reebok zig kinetica li and bruh they are awesome, do check them out )

    You can’t go wrong with any of these choices BUT the X1 is the worst of the bunch for pure lifting. It’s the best runner and plyo shoe though. Loving the Metcon 7s for lifting and plyo stuff. Ran a mile in them on a treadmill and they were ok. The 6 is pretty all around good though it’s a tad soft in the heel for lifting but I’ve hit some big PRs in them. It depends! There’s a lot of context needed when we talk about different drops being better for certain lifters.
      If a lifter enjoys have a slightly more forward knee translation, then it could certainly be better. However, some lifters love a flatter, more low to the ground shoe, so in that case, the 6 or X could be better!

    Between the Nano X1/X1 Grit and Metcon 6, which would you recommend for more basketball strength training (a lot of jumping, pluometric, side to side lateral moving, etc.) as well as heavy weight lifting? Or are there any others you would recommend? Those are just the two I’ve seen at the local outlet mall. Thanks!

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад +1

      I would say go with the Grit - they should be solid for blending a bit of everything together! The break-in period can be annoying for some folks so wear longer socks for the first few weeks if you notice you're getting any Achilles rub.

    21 minute video with no conclusion? Pick a winner thats all we want to know

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад

      Winner is based on the training context in which you want to use them and that’s why I have sections baked in with time stamps. Also, I add time stamps so you can jump around! I don't want you to watch the whole 21-minutes.
      If you want a model primarily for lifting, CrossFit, etc. I have picked shoes for those settings.
      There’s always an ebb and flow with trainers, so it’s hard to say this one is always the best because it does their construction + how people train a disservice. Now, if you were holding me over a cliff and I had to pick one of these…then I’d probably go metcon 7!
