Nike Metcon 7 vs 6 vs React Turbo!

I forgot to mention that after reviewing the React Turbos earlier this year, I returned all the pairs that I got. Not because I disliked the shoe, but because I have so many Metcon 6's that I couldn't justify spending money on the Turbos. They're great shoes, but so are the 6's.

And you’re an idiot. How do you think reviewers/creators make any money? Nike BARELY pays anything out on their affiliate program. If I wanted to steer people in the wrong direction I could tell them to go with Nanos because Reebok literally pays out 10x what Nike does. On top of that I still have to buy Nike shoes myself whereas other companies just give me shoes to review. ANY/EVERY creator that’s trying to make some kind of living doing it is going to have links for you to use.

Bought new Nikes last week. These 3 shoes I had to pick from and I ended up choosing the react turbo. It was close between the 7 and react turbo but I just didn't like the build and design on the 7 and the 6. Plus I do a mix training between plyo, lifting and MMA. React looks pretty sweet as well in design ✔️

Thanks for the comparison! I personally still use my metcon 4xd. Never liked the metcon 5 and 6 because of their design. So I‘m really happy nike changed things up with the 7. I‘ll still probably wait for some time to buy a pair since my old pair still hold up quite well.

I'm in australia. I don't like the metcon 7 as much as the turbo. I tried the 7 in store feels funny when walking and so so tight. The guy from another store showed me the turbo today and feels so much better and easier to walk in.

How do you compare the 7s to the new Fronings? Asking mostly about lifting and metcons that do not include running.
I bought a pair of metcon 7’s today and have used the metcon 6. So far the metcon 4 is my favorite!!! The metcon 4 has no free play and can move around like a bullet. The 6’s create a lot of free play and feel heavier. This causes overall slower response.
I like how I could still enjoy the full length lunarlon midsoles of my Kobe 8s and 11s (which I don’t use nowadays) for the Metcon 6s, especially if the workout is more geared towards endurance.
Metcon 6 is too loud when walking on cement or a wood floor. Anyone else notice this?

Agreed. I think I run more heel strike and hated running in the 7s. Very stiff/solid and uncomfortable for me. Otherwise I love them
My metcon 7s arrived today. They won’t suit a wide foot. I have skinny feet and they are snug. Definitely a upgrade from my swift runs which are dead. The metcons do feel like an all rounder. I was looking at separate lifters and separate shoes for my day of exercise these seem to cover all bases.
You should add agility movements to the review! Nonetheless love my 5’s might pick up the 7s soon though
Hello congratulations for your channel and for your awesome reviews for all that shoes . I want to make you a question about which shoes to buy , i found Metcon 7 with discount 70€ and Metcon react turbo 90€ which is better to buy
I do strongman competitively in heavyweight. I own a pair of 6s and I used to own a pair of 5 americanas which looked so dope and also were incredibly function for farmers, Yoke, and loading movements because of the heel hugging the shoe but the shoe flexing as well in the forefoot. How can I get a size 14 of the 5's anymore? I want the americana colorway as well? Someone stole them out of my locker at my old gym.
Just found the metcon6 in that army grey/green colour for $60 Canadian at the Nike outlet store
How would you compare these against the Under Armour Reign 3's mainly for lifting? Perhaps also worth mentioning that I can get them for 30% cheaper than the Metcon's. Cheers!
How do the 7's perform on rope climbs? you normally cover that.. did I miss it? I love all your vids ..

my metcon 7s tore out during heavy sled push. only had them for a month.
Just tried the metcon 7s, same at the 6, they squish my forefoot. I’ll stick to the under armour tribase it looks like
Was thinking of upgrading from UA Tri-Base as I have a pair, to the Metcon 7s as I have friends that told me the toebox is pretty wide. It does look quite a bit wider than my UA's though
@@TF2ReplayMaker Toebox is fine. I generally found the Tri-base more comfortable for me. I have tried the 7s couple more times after this just to confirm it to myself.

@@TF2ReplayMaker I did feel a bit more stability with the 7, given by the fact that they are a tad wider then the 6s. Overall still not as stable, fit wise, as my TriBase. If I would have to say, purely on paper the Metrcon should feel more stable on the ground, fir on the foot is a different story. I felt way more supported by the Tribase

How does the old react metcon stack up? Or even better, the fusion: metcon 6 with old react metcon drop in midsole!
They're still pretty good for most things. Probably only lacking in the stability department but otherwise they're great.

The React Turbos fit me perfectly. The 6 and 7 give me a lot of heel slip although my forefoot is squeezed in them.

Love your videos bud but how are you not going to give some insight on the Metcon 7 vs the nano X1?
There will be something in the future about that...but there is no comparing the two. Metcon 7s are one of the best shoes of all time where nano x1 are one of the worst.

@@williamknox974 any lifting is where the nano x1 falter. the only workouts I use them for are monostrutural with some gymnastics and plyo...but even still unless there was a TON of running, I'd probably use just about anything else over them. I only use them because I love Reebok and they take care of me. Nano x1 fronings are a different beast though...those will be in my top 5.

Would you recommend metcon’s if I typically finish my workouts with a 2-3mi run (easy pace)? Trying to find a shoe that can do it all.

How do these fit? I’ve heard Nike metcon free 3 and 4 run smaller. I’m either a 7 or 7.5 in nikes not sure which to get in the 7s
I wear the same size in them all and the Free 3/4 do fit a little smaller, but after a little wear they felt fine to me. I would size the Metcon 7 as you would your normal running shoe, so it sounds like probably 7.

Recently started HITT training, not too crazy lifting, tons of squats, jumping, bending knees. Looking for a shoe which will take pressure off knees. Metcon 6 or 7 better for me. I was under the impression the lower toe drop less pressure on knees.
I am currently wearing Sauconys with an 8mm drop. The Metcon 7 has a 7mm drop, so not sure if I will notice much if a difference, so should I go with the 6? I have been watching reviews for days! I am confused!!
Drop can affect the pressure on your knees but isn't the sole contributor on why you might have knee issues. I would wager that the Sauconys are running shoes and the amount of midsole/geometry of the shoe are probably doing worse than the drop are.
For HIIT, I would recommend something like the Free Metcon 4 or from these, the Turbos.

@@kellyerickson3112 there really is and no one shoe will be the "perfect" fit. Lots of shoes do different things...you might end up like me one day haha.
I am on my way ,lol,.... I have learned so much in 2 days!!! Crazy! I hadn't even considered the React Turbos, now I have to research these more. LOL

Both are gonna be pretty good but if you’re doing a lot of burpees and less lifting I would probably go with the 3s due to them being more flexible. Nano x1 are pretty good as well as Nike free Metcon 4.

Yes, but depends on application. For CrossFit, yes…if you never planned on going too heavy and cared more for flexibility, turbos.

It's neutral...there's no real arch and they're fairly wide in the midfoot.

They're all rubbish, especially Metcon 6, buy yourself Reebok Nano. Any Nano is better than any Metcon.
Would normally agree but the past two nanos have been clunky pieces of shit. The new Fronings aren't bad.
I switched to metcons after my Reebok Nano 8s caused me to slip and fall during a barbell power squat that also caused a severe injury. If the Nanos outsoles get into contact with any moisture (water, sweat, etc. Even just a little bit of it.), there's a pretty good likelihood of slipping. I personally have never had this issue with the Nike Metcons.
