Is this good for stability in legs exercises? Thanks in advance, beautifull shoes
What are the foot clamp things that you have on your pedals and where can I get them?
Search for "Fyxation Gates Pedal Strap". They are awesome
I have tried most currently available CF shoe options and, for me, nothing beats the Metcon 8. I just picked up a couple more pair of Metcon 8's, as the inventory online is almost out. That said, I am intrigued by the Metcon 1 OG and did not pull trigger when released because I do not like the black/red/white color way. Nike just released a new color way (black/white/metallic cool grey) that I really like, so I pulled the trigger and they should arrive any day. I THINK this also supports the notion that the Metcon 1 OG was release in lieu of the Metcon 10 . . . which I suspect will eventually be released? I wear the Metcon 8 for every WOD EXCEPT (1) only running, for which I wear running shoes and (2) WODS with substantial running mixed with other movements, for which I wear the Nike Flex Control 4. Of other shoes I have tried, the Haze Trainer, INOV8 260 V2 and UA Reign 6 are also good cross trainers but simply do not appeal to me as much as my Metcon 8/Flex Control 4 combination for everything CF.
Nike might be moving to an "every other year" release cycle for the Metcon shoes, I guess. I'm now expecting the Nike Metcon 10 in August of 2025. But I don't have any official info. Thanks for the feedback. Those new 1 OGs should look great in that color combo.
Hei, I need a pair of sneakers which should be comfortable to wear for all day standing. What should you recommend
6 looks better
I need shose for boxing running weight lifting what is your advice for me
No shoe is going to do all of that. Getting running shoes for running. Nike Metcons for weigths. I don't know about boxing.
you mentioned the heel height of the 9s but i think i missed if you said what it was for the 6s. is there a bigger heel to toe drop because of the cushion? also how does the toe box feel? does it allow for space or kind of squish your toes together?
I can't really measure heel to toe drop. I can measure heel height, but not the toe height, so I don't know what it is... but I can tell you this - it's not much. I'm so used to wearing metcons I can feel the difference between 4mm and 6 or 7mm (Like in the Reebok Nano).
Regarding the toe box. It's a tight fit, but that's partly because of the stretchy upper. So I think it's meant to be form fitting, but it's got enough give that it should be comfortable even if you need wider.
Why are there blue spots my them are they normal?
I'm not sure which part you are referring to. Where specifically do you see "blue spots"?
Awesome. Ive been looking for a boot/shoe for my beach assaults. Thanx!
At the online store it says for women. Are these unisex?
There should be Men's sizes and Women's sizes. Mine are definitely Men's shoes
Look for a separate product listing that is Men's
Nice but the Free Metcon 5 is better for me. The 4 is the most beautifull of the serie
Do you likek metcon 6 over metcon 9?
Metcon 9 for heavy weights, Metcon Free 6 for everything else
How’s the durability been on these? I’ve heard mixed reviews
I have two pairs. I don't wear them every day, but neither has any problems with durability at this point.
Blue looks so good here. I just bought these in black and I'm kind of regretting my color choice now
Hi! I just started crossfit again. I am a pretty small and light person but getting older😂 wich shoe do you recommend? Is the size the same in both metcon and fre? thanx
Sizing is about the same. I think the Nike Free is much more versatile. So if you can only get one, get that. If you are into heavy weight lifting, go with the Metcon 9
I prefer Metcon 5. The only change I'd make would be the lacing loops.. I'd put the Flywire eyelet cables on the 5, with a couple more pairs, and I'd put the loop on the heel of the 6 on the 5, and that's perfection!
Nike needs to take a lesson from this first release and do away with the solid heel on the Newer Metcons. These were the first Crossfit shoes I really enjoyed. Not so great for running but a much more user friendly shoe than the newer ones.
I am looking for a shoe which can provide stability while weight training and is good for running. I understand that these are good for weight training. Are they any good for running? Please help.
How much running ? What distance? What kind of weights? Heavy barbell stuff?
@@fitatmidlife927 I run close to 7-10 kms a day. And yes, my weight training does involve heavy barbell exercises.
You cant have both in 1 shoes. If you want good running shoes, buy running shoes. For lifting buy lifting shoes like metcon 5,6,9. But running, buy good running shoes
Yeah but the OGs visually look better... they're lighter...the Swoosh sign is more visible...whos climbing ropes in a gym anyway...im here to lift...Jordan colours are like Yes Sir...👍🏾😎💯🔥
Yep - all good points. I forgot to mention the Jordan colors.
Who? Crossfighters
How are they for walking, and jump rope
Walking - they work just fine. Comfortable to wear for long time periods - standing or walking. Honestly I don't jump rope any more - it's too much repetitive impact (I'm old). Having said that - these would probably be OK if you have healthy hips/knees.
For me these are the best Free Metcons Nike had released in a while. The first version was the best one and these feel really similar in performance and fit
Way prefer Metcon free 5 for training . The 6 seems more made for casual walking and seems cheap
I'm gonna switch back to my 5s for a few days to see if I can feel a difference.
Ye, they're not. They dont feel cheap at all
@@HelloImCrimsoneveryone has a different opinion. All my friends at crossfits hate them.
FYI, ya might wanna stop doing the over under grip on your deadlift, science has shown that when anybody pops a bicep tendon while deadlifting always pops it on the hand that is holding the bar in the under grip. Good video, I liked how you compared these to the 9's.
I just want a shoe to wear around the house, I normally wear Rebok 6 inch high top boots. They are comfortable, but not that light.
Are these good for wide feet ?! Cause the last free rn shoes fabric tore near small toe
I DO NOT think the upper in these is tougher. I don't think you'll have better results.
@@fitatmidlife927 Thank you & which shoe would you suggest for daily use?! As i stand for longer periods and also walk when working
@@nikhilbm3804 Nike Free Metcon 6 - much better for standing and walking all day. The Nike Metcon 9 just doesn't have much cushion underneath
I already got mine on the way
Waiting for the metcon 10 to release
Yeah - me too. When I saw "Nike Metcon 1 OG" , i mis-read it as 10 G - LOL. I think Metcon 10 is gonna be real, real similar to Metcon 9 though. They tend to make major changes EVERY OTHER YEAR, so this year is probably a minor update.
@@fitatmidlife927lol, let’s hope they make some decent upgrades to facilitate running, I personally love the design of the 9’s but I’m yet to own a pair of metcons
There is a date for the new metcon 10 ?
@@kokozaza3533 I do not know the date, but it *should* be any day now. They have been recently the shoe in late summer the last few years.
fall 2025
What do you think? Are you gonna get it?
They cost $180 in my country, I'll just get some nano x4 on sale in the fall. Not worth it to regular people, only if you really want the OG.
Puedo correr con estos o solo para levantar peso?
Estos no son zapatos para correr, son mejores solo para levantar pesas.
Hy there! Wich one is wider? I have small fit and i dont like large sneakers! Thx!
Regarding width they are both pretty close, but realize the Free Metcon 6 is a tight, "sock like" fit. It's meant to hug your foot. So - that'll probably feel better. The Metcon 9 won't "hug" your foot like that.
Not good for a workout timer
Great review! Thanks for the info .. but I love the GoRuck trainers I have the ballistic trainers in Lunar Rock and Black .. I will never buy a pair of Nikes again because they became too political so I started looking for alternatives .. the only other sneaker I would buy is the OnCloud’s which are pretty good too.
Hi I’m looking to get a shoe for dance fitness class , and I’m leaning towards Nike free metcon 5 and free metcon 6 . But I’m not sure which one is better in terms of durability as the other factors are very similar in both . Which one do you suggest to be the best buy overall being the same price .
Regarding durability - it's just too early to tell. I've only had the 6 for about a month. That said, I've owned EVERY version of this shoe and had not issues with durability. If you can find the 5 with a good discount - get that,.
Go for MF6. Consider UA too for ur addt'l training shoes. 🎉
Does the quality of the 6 seem less? It looks less durable
I wouldn't say quality is less, but it's definitely lighter - I think because of the upper it's a ligheter weight material. Therefore the upper might be less durable (but more comfortable). Only time will tell, I think. To be honest the way I use these the upper doesn't get much wear and tear. I'll report back in a few weeks.
Wow its been awhile glad your back always valued your opinion
3 years! Thanks for the feedback.
Pls do a Nike Romaleos 4 vs Tyr - l1 lifters
Coolest shoes ever
i like them, but they are bit narrow
They're good for squatting, no doubt, but I don't trust them at all for weightlifting. Very cheap material such as the rubber on the sole. I had Rom 3s and the rubber came off after like 3 months of weightlifting. Switched to Reebok legacy and damn that didn't disappoint me for 3 years. Purchased the Rom 4s cuz they were on sale and heavily discounted, same issue. The cheap material, the rubber came off after 2 months of use, and it isn't very stable either. The Legacy lifter on the other hand is 10x better. Problem with the new gen Roms is that they keep using the same cheap plastic. The Rom 2s weren't like this. They were sturdy and reliable and hence the best shoes for weightlifting ever.
I just done my Tough Mudder in them. Yes kept them for 4 years till i put them to test. They actually did well in obstacles and water out really good. However the distance was more than 10 miles, so not sure there was enough support/softness as these metcons are quite hard shoe. Now i have pain in left foot, not sure it’s because of the shoue or I bashed it during obstacle. The feet felt well protected though, lacing system was tight, so to sum them up - decent performance. Not sure why nike stopped making them

Ive worn the same pair for 5 years, no tears, no rips, no loose threads, no discoloration even when dried in the sun. Everything about the otb’s is tough. To reiterate, ive worn these every. Day. For 5 years straight. Best $100 I ever spent.
Unless u got an ass made at cyberdyne systems this seqt is much worse than the original, cant believe i got one after watching this guy who clearly as an ass that is impenetrable
They’re nice for people with narrow feet , if you have wide toes , less than optimal
They make them in wide too.
I hope people understand that the OTB is used for very short duration periods and for a very niche job. Finning to the beach and moving across til you can switch to a dry pair of combat boots. Caving vbss ladders. And cqb on goplats. Anything outside that is not what they are notorious for.
I can double kick flip in my Ariat boots, I powerlift in puma Motorsport shoes, you're trying really hard to suck at life the best.
Don't get sucked in to buying Altamas for the cool camo. They have a very specific function but aren't good for high miles, hard ground or cold temps. I bought them for my style of canoe tripping which doesn't involve much portaging but does require something with good traction on slippery rocks.
Careful if you need ankle support. The Altamas have extremely little due to the very flexible outsole. Good for feeling the surface but not good if you're prone to sprains or have previous injury. First day I wore them left me in serious pain for the following two.
how could Adidas make such an ugly shoe?
I just got a pair of these and the right shoe had a defect in the inside that would stab my foot. They are made in Cambodia...
😂 all shoes made in Cambodia
are they true to size? Or run big like boots?
Ran big for me....
I'm a very picky shoe/boot guy and I'm a 8½ reg/med, I have the 8" med multicam and they are true to size for me. They fit like a sock yet durable.
Late to the party here but they do run big. Good for wide feet.
