  • Hey, sunshine! I hope you're having a spectacular day! Today, I am so very EXCITED to share with you one of the prettiest, most STUNNING Granny Square, crochet blankets that I've ever seen! It's SO delightful, SO colorful, and SO scrumptious! And if you've been wanting to get in on the Granny Square trend, then you won't want to miss this video! I'll show you everything you need to know to crochet your own Granny Squares, as well as how to apply a single crochet border.
    Download Retrovibe at www.expression...
(Did you know most of our patterns are free for a limited time? Just sign up for email updates at www.expressionfiberarts.com, and you'll get notified when the next one goes live.)
Retrovibe uses our puddly, slinky soft Bamboo Alpaca Fingering yarn. This yarn is a gorgeous, cuddly yarn that's dyed in beautiful, heathered tones! With drape galore and a subtle sheen, this yarn is perfect for professional looking projects! It is made with 80% Bamboo and 20% Alpaca. 384 yd/351 m per skein.
    www.expression...
The sample Retrovibe blanket is shown in colors: Tide, Be a Mermaid, Spontaneity, State of Mind, Unveil the Beauty, Endless Summer, Made for Sun, Forever Memories, Sunny Vibes, Hidden Treasures, Lake Life, Sparkling Sea, Moon Love, Enjoy the Waves, Swimming in Stars, Feel the Sky, Good Times, Flip Flops, Let Your Soul Fly, and Find Your Wave.
    The sample was made with approximately 4260 yards (3896 m) total: (Colors A-D: 260 yds/ 238 m each, Colors E-P: 165 yds/ 151 m each, Colors Q-T (white): 310 yds/ 284 m each).
If any of the colors are sold out, feel free to double up on one of the other colors instead, or use any combination of colors you like. Be sure to order all you need for your project because once this limited edition yarn is gone, it's gone!
Although our sample used 20 different colors of Bamboo Alpaca Fingering, you can make your blanket with fewer colors or even just one. Just use the yardage/meterage totals above to calculate how much yarn you’ll need for the number of colors you wish to use.
Have a beautiful, happy, wondrous day, my friend! Spread love and kindness to all those you meet today! And be sure to sign up for email updates to receive more knit and crochet patterns. We aim for one a week, and most are free for a limited time only. You'll also get coupon codes and be among the first to hear about new limited yarns! XOXO

I make a purple blanket, to donate, every year. This year's was a rich plum-y grape purple, with a fuzzy halo. Large, solid color granny squares. Did a dc2tog join. It was very sophisticated. Not your granny's granny square. Ha!

Thank you for showing this. I actually taught myself to crochet before switching to knitting. Since I didn't crochet for a long time, I forgot many of the basics. I gotten back to doing straight lines but creating the center to do the granny square or any other round projects were eluding me. Learning about the magic circle and I got the hang of it. You are an amazing teacher. Let me see if I can do this project.

Here is the info you're looking for: This blanket is composed of 64 different small granny squares. They are individually bordered and then joined to make one big 8 x 8 square blanket. Then a final border is worked around this big square.

Hi there, thanks for your message. I'm very sorry this was an special edition yarn (Bamboo Alpaca Fingering) last year that we don't currently have in stock. Since the pattern holds 2 strands together throughout the pattern I'd suggest looking for a DK weight yarn instead. How about our Alpaca Silk DK (expressionfiberarts.com/categories/dk/alpaca-silk-dk.html) or actually any of our DK yarns will be suitable (expressionfiberarts.com/categories/dk.html).
I hope this answers your question. Have a great day! 💜

Hi Donna, thank you for you message. You're correct, we recommend hand-washing all of our yarns, however, with this yarn being a 80% Bamboo and 20% Alpaca blend it's easier to care for. Also since it's a blanket I don't think it'll need to be washed too often. Have a lovely weekend. ❤️
