  • RE-UPLOAD Sorry, made a mistake with the original video and needed to fix the edit.
It looks like, of all the videos posted about John Jaquish, it was somehow my video that caught his attention and was his primary focus in a recent interview he did with Mike over at the @SlidingBenchTrainer channel.
So, since John seemed to have some things to say about me and indirectly at me and my video, here is my response.
I hope everyone is staying warm and that you're all both happy and healthy.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and I will see you all in 2024!

Excellent video and points Skyler. As we discussed and just so everyone knows who leaves comments, I don't have any settings that flag comments, but RUclips I believe has their own "things" that flags comments that go beyond the "held for review" section they have for spam. I believe somethings are website links, emails addresses, and blanking out certain words. Wish this was on the original video so others could see it, so hopefully this video does it justice. You're obviously on John's radar, so next time if he wants to come on we can have a "wwe style" surprise entry by Skyler in the mix to make it interesting.

I always think it’s comical when guys try to overinflated their credentials or life skills to make their product seem better.
Truth be told, if X3 is an awesome product, I could care less if a doctor or janitor made it. But if the guy is inflating himself due to his background to make the product seem better, then it devalues the product to me.

I did watch your other video when it first came out. I think it was very well done and very factual. I agree with your assessment. I do think that people should watch a complete video before commenting on it, especially if they have negative things to say.

Great video. I currently use X3 with your Total Gym videos and I like it , and agree with you that it's a solid product, I had a cheaper replica from Amazon before but decided to buy the real X3 bar and bands and it's indeed a superior product, quality of the bar and the bands is superior.
Also you bring up good valid points with a reasonable take on this ,and there's no reason for John to be upset about this. Happy holidays!

Although I’ve tried to give him credit where it’s due, I also wasn’t shy about calling out some of his lies and false claims. I understand why he’s mad at me. I’m just surprised that somehow I stood out to him more than the others who criticized him.

Here’s some of “Dr.” Jaquish’s whoppers (many from his recent interviews with “Sliding Bench Trainer”):
“Only the elite athletes with upper .01% genetics can get results with weight training because they have tendons that attach on the other side of the bone”
He claims that anyone can replicate the results of the genetic elite…by using his, and only his, product of course.
“I gained 60lbs. of muscle while losing 16lbs. of fat using the X3 exclusively while in my 40’s and without drugs”
Since he states that he currently weighs 220lbs. that would mean that he would have had to weigh 176lbs. when he started using the X3. Do any of his “before” photos even remotely look like he weighs only 176lbs.?
“In 15-20 years, nobody will even know what weight training is anymore since everyone will be using variable resistance.”
He’s straight up delusional if he really thinks that all of the gyms are going to close and all of the weight training equipment manufacturers are going to all go out of business in favor of the X3 and variable resistance. In 15-20 years, nobody is even going to remember him or his product. Variable resistance has been around for a while now and its impact on the fitness industry has been insignificant. Weight training, as we would recognize it today, has been around for over a century because it has a proven track record of producing results.
“I’ve never met a person that didn’t get results from X3”
This is what is called “confirmation bias”. He only wants to hear what he wants to hear (positive feedback) and dismisses out of hand any negative reviews labeling them as “internet trolls”. There is no product in existence that has a 100% positive customer satisfaction and he’s utterly delusional if he truly believes that the success rate for the X3 is, or should be, 100%
“When I go to a grocery store people come up to me…they act like they’ve never seen anything like me before”
Presumably he’s implying that he’s so huge and that his physique is so beyond belief that people act as if a god had just descended from Mount Olympus and is now striding the Earth before them in the form of a mere mortal. Is this guy for real? How massively inflated is this clown’s ego??
How anyone pays any attention to this arrogant, narcissistic, blow hard, buffoon is hard to imagine.

I still have to watch this video to hear your response, but one of the videos you posted about X3 and Dr Jaquish was overly negative, bashing him and the product's claims but you didn't even use it. I too was a major sceptic as well as being a totalgym owner and lifetime lifter. I started incorporating bands into my totalgym workout which turned me on to the concept of variable resistance. Then I joined the X3 Facebook user group just to see what people were saying and I was blown away with results people were posting. I wound up getting a used one on Facebook Marketplace and I am an advocate. I can tell you, like many others would proclaim, it is absolutely revolutionary. He changed the fitness industry overnight- no need for a gym or free weights. And there is no way any DIY system could replicate what X3 can do. The standard bands alone have up to 340lbs of resistance and adding the elite band you can get 600lbs. Try that with any other band. Anyway, I enjoy your channel and videos but encourage anyone bashing X3 to do more research and try one if you can. Believe me you will be impressed.

I never said anything negative about the X3 or variable resistance training. I simply highlighted that some of the specific claims he makes are not true (which there is hard evidence of), that he didn’t invent variable resistance training, resistance bands, or even the idea of using bands along with a foot plate and bar (he simply patented a very specific variation of the concept), etc. I don’t think revolutionized anything. I think he successfully marketed his product (which I have repeatedly said is good quality and works).

For a time, I couldn't decide if Jaquish was a con artist or was just wrong but legitimately believed in the stuff that he was pitching. His TEDx appearance and that nonsense about how some people have tendons "that attach on the other side of the bone", his unbelievable arrogance, blatantly photoshopped pictures, reaction to legitimate criticism, claims of putting on 60lbs. of muscle while losing 16lbs. of fat using the X3 exclusively (while in his 40’s and without drugs) and the whole "every training method other than X3 is garbage" make it pretty clear that he is a fraud.
The X3 has been out for 4 years now. If it legitimately built muscle 3x faster than weight training as claimed then we should be seeing countless examples of guys who put on 40-60lbs. of solid muscle over that time (as Jaquish claims to have done) and yet we clearly haven't seen that.
I wasted four months of training using the X3. I was not impressed with my results. My arms appeared smaller and I wasn't happy with how I was looking. When I went back to lifting weights I had demonstrably lost strength across the board. I'm not saying that it isn't possible to derive some benefit from using the X3 but claims that it is as good as, or 3x times superior to weight training are utterly absurd.
I would not recommend the overpriced, overhyped, overrated X3. In terms of exercise equipment there are far better ways that you could spend the $550 that an X3 bar will cost you.

Well said. That has basically been my reaction to Jaquish, as well. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was providing solid information. Then I started watching his videos and it was clear that the information was simply wrong, in most cases. I still gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed that he actually believed what he was saying, despite it being wrong. But, the more I looked into him, the clearer and clearer it became that he knows exactly what he is doing and he is doing it on purpose for the sake of marketing and selling a product.

@@SkylerKingTW I would be more forgiving if I felt that he really believed the things that he says. But the body of evidence in the way of photoshopped pictures, interviews, his questionable "PhD", etc. says otherwise and makes it clear that he is being willfully deceptive and dishonest in order to sell product and that's what irritates me.

  • @luna4us
    @luna4us 10 месяцев назад +1

I own X3 and like it. However, he would have more respect if he was honest about things. It’s not just X3 but other products as well. For example, he claims that one can use Fortagen as a substitute for 50g of protein and quotes some studies. Firstly fortagen is not a complete protein but just EAA. Secondly, I actually looked at all the studies he quotes and they don’t confirm his claims at all. When I asked him to explain on his FB page my question was ignored. It also looks suspicious without the ingredients on the package.

John honestly should be used to criticism at this point. I think he likes the drama it helps sell the product. Internet beef is good for his business. I also think he chases the drama to keep word of mouth going. He has some serious competition from other competitors that in my opinion are better than his now. I wouldn’t take his trash talking seriously. You have your opinion and stated your counter arguments excellently.

Your pronouncing his last name wrong, also lets have everyone calm down with the snake oil claims, the guy is selling a high end piece of performance equipment, he is not at some local mall selling discount cologne, like these references are for actual low level bottom dwellers, I am actually a fan on John...

You being a fan is fine. It doesn't change facts, though. The widespread claims of "snake oil salesman" are not by accident or just a coincidence. "High end" is a matter of perspective. It is well made. It is effective. But I wouldn't think of it as "high end". The Harambe bars, as an example, are higher quality.
