Holy crap that enhanced Zelda was incredible. I need the shelf space but I really prefer the original hardware. I'm definitely getting once of these with the money I get from selling my carts. Awesome video. Subscribed.
Format the SD card to FAT32, download the latest firmware, copy the sd2snes folder from the firmware zip to the root of the SD card. Create a separate folder in the root, this is where you can copy your roms to. You can even build folder structures to organize your games and navigate them in the menu.
It allows the use of cd quality audio files. You can even add your own music to any game that has an MSU1 romhack. There's already tons of sets of different music people have done for a lot of the popular games. The tutorials are on youtube. quertymodo's channel in particular
I recently for this everdrive used in a purchase with other gaming items. I can't seem to find the msu-1 link to the past game anywhere on here. is it possible its not on it or im not looking in the right place. its packed with so much stuff I thought it would of been on here, and other msu-1 games in general. Let me know, thank you.
The everdrives don’t come pre-loaded, so whatever games it has on it the previous owner added. It’s pretty open, so if you find any games you can add them to the SD card yourself.
You have to look for an Unofficial Firmware Update 1.10.3 v.12 and you'll save START+L and load with START+R. But many of the games have issues when you load the save state. Hope it will be updated soon to fix sound issues
Upping audio quality is easy when you apply samples to the midi files (on a simple software level anyway. No idea on the actual implementation in practice here). The rest of the upgrades take amazing effort.
Many of these upgraded audio releases for the MSU chip are total replacements, like the TMNT game that adds recorded audio instead of chiptunes, or the Zelda with orchestral score.
@William Miller like full-on recorded audio tracks of real instruments. You can have big files on the SD card compared to what would fit on a cart back in the day.
@Tech With Sean who is playing the instruments? It still sounds like audio samples applied to midi unless you can tell me who is playing these "recorded tracks". Midi and sound sampling is my job.
So is the link on amazon the right place to buy the legit one from krizz ? I am just a little hesitant to buy off amazon after you said you got a chinese knockoff version
make sure it is supplied by krikkz. i bought the sd2snes that was $130 and it was faulty on arrival, green banding and wouldn't load roms. The one from Krikkz is $216. And the link in the description is the right one.
Is it true that this will help eliminate the infamous 'white line'? I get it mostly when I'm playing FF6 and am looking for tips to get it sorted. Just had the capacitors replaced on the SNES.
An update I took my brand new supaboy black gold from the packaging and tested the FXPAK PRO what runs the cartridge flawlessly there isn't a single line or any interference so it is either the supaboy S in general or my supaboy S what I use for testing and playing games but it's certainly not the FXPAK PRO it's the supaboy S I'm using what is causing the problem whether a fault or just isn't advanced enough to handle the power of the FXPAK PRO without further testing of alternate supaboy S consoles it's impossible for me to speculate and maybe time I think of buying a new supaboy for hands on gaming a choice between the FXPAK PRO and the Chinese clone SD2pro is entirely up to you sorry for the confusion
Not as far as I know, the system is reading the ROM files the same way as an original system would, and they feel just like playing the real carts. There’s no real emulation or anything, it’s just reading ROMs from an SD card, but over the same internal slot it would play carts from.
@@TechWithSean thanks for answering! I visited that page before asking but all I can are the different versions of the firmware, instructions and comments. Maybe these don't show up on a mobile browser. IDK.

Sean, is it possible to get back to the menu without turning the snes off and back on? I don’t want to keep turning it off and on everytime I want to switch games
Hi Sean I just wanted to let everybody know I have the Chinese clone SD2 pro and a krikkz FXPAK PRO but there's something you need to know the FXPAK PRO won't play on a supaboy once the console has warmed through use the screen will become like what I can only describe as flickering interference lines where as the Chinese clone will play for hours with no problems so if your looking for a cartridge to use with the original hardware I would say the FXPAK PRO is ideal but if you want to use a clone system then SD2pro is a good choice
Recently got one myself, having used the Everdrive 64 I knew I was in for more quality! It's expensive, yes. But I think it's definitely worth it on my part! I will get one for the MegaDrive as well!
Don’t think there are savestates and loading states out of the box. There is a video you can watch where a guy has gotten it to work off a download from github.
An Everdrive embedded in a Super NT is a slap in the face .... this is the case for lol I bought one from KRIKzz too;) despite the duplicates or too many unnecessary games ... almost everything goes and they have excellent qualities .... too much Majhong also to my taste lol: p I think that the price must be lowered by 50 €;) because it is too expensive ^^ 150 € it's ok but no more! ;)
An Everdrive from KRIKzz is a bit like the NEO SD from TERRA ONION it's expensive but the quality is more than correct. Beware, however, of certain prices on the Internet, everdrives are starting to rise in price, especially those of good quality;) (Sounds, Images, Reliability)

I'm having trouble finding the msu1 games I can't find a single one what am I doing wrong

The msu-1 chip almost feels like an april fool's prank, given how much of a jump in quality it is.

@Tech With Sean recorded audio? Of samples again? Just done ahead of time versus on the fly? Or who is playing the audio?

Thanks for posting this video it was super helpful.
The issue with playing not owned games has changed somehow? or is still illegal?
Would everything you've shown on the video work the same with my PAL SNES?
Hey Sean, great video ! Hope all is well 😀👍
Hey, nice vid. If i have an older firmware version, do I just overwrite the old files with the new ones, is there a firmware flash i need to run ? TIA

I hope this isn’t a dumb question but if i buy this cartridge do the Roms come pre installed?
No they don’t. Some cheap clone carts may ship with roms, but the official Krikzz carts never do.
How do these work compared to original carts as far as latency, visuals, etc., is there any negatives at all to running this vs original carts??

Are MSU1 enhanced official games or fan added rom hacks?
They are fan hacks, the music files are huge and would have never fit on the limited storage of an official SNES cart.
As far as the games themselves, some may be rom hacks, but most are just the original games with upgraded music and/or cut scenes.
I bought an fxpak pro like youre video is about, everything works except mario kart. Any suggestions or anyone else experiencing this?
Maybe try another version of the ROM?
I'm getting rainbow colors with some games and scrolling through the menu, any ideas?

Well this work on the analog super nt console?
Yes it will - you want to set your system to boot straight from the cartridge instead of through the system menu with it though, I believe.
No, it won't.
Atleast not properly.
The creator of the FXPAK Pro, "Ikari", confirmed this.
