I’m not a Ford guy, but an FE big block would be awesome in there, or even a SBF, but not a SBC even though it’s my favorite. Carol Shelby would vomit!
Shelby would have accepted any v8 from whatever manufacturer. He endorsed the viper. He just wanted big american v8s. That said, as a chevy and mopar fan, i woulid change to a ford :)

I can honestly say that's the first Cobra I've seen with a Chevy engine someone needs there head examine on that one.
But overall Cobras are cool!!
Nice start needs a few things to finish it off but the hard stuff is done just hope it doesn't rain when your out cruising
I see no problem with a 350 in a cobra kit. That's what makes kit car so desirable. Its all up to your imagination you can source an engine and tranny from anything. You can buy a kit car in any stage from just the body and frame to complete turn key. All holes are pre-drilled to mount the body on frame. If a late model Hemi will fit..use it
noticed when he's driving straight, the steering wheel is not clocked right. any alignment shop could fix that, or at worst, pull the steering wheel mount and re-clock the splines.

Basically an Engine with a steering wheel. You should put a 100 dollar bill on the windshield and tempt someone to pull it off like salesmen did in the 60's.

I don’t understand why the builder did the air intake this way? A simple round air cleaner would have allowed the motor to breathe much better since the scoop is functional. Would have had cold air directly to the carburetor. It’s a nice kit car that you can either drive the way it is, or blow it apart and fix all the little things. Nick, you were grinning ear to ear driving it down the road. That told me all I needed to know!

Depending on the kit manufacturer that kit could be sick as fuck with a hardtop I,d go for a gt 350r motor the give it the American styled flat plane crank growl and late powerband would make it handle as well as accelerates
Nice ride. I see a lot of comments on the engine. Personally, I'd put a 383 stroker crate in it. Likely the best bang for the buck out there these days, assuming one doesn't want to build it themselves. Maybe even grab a modern salvage 5.0 or go weird with something like a Caddy TT 6? Another option would be to FI that 350. Plenty of room for single or twin turbo and IC.

Well I'm 6'2", 245 so I guess I won't be fitting in the driver's seat.
As you are well aware, the world isn't built for you big guys. Cars too tight, ceiling fans too low, counter tops too low, toilets too low, toilet areas of bathrooms too tight, can't get under the dash to work on your hotrod, and on and on.

It's definitely sitting on a Corvette frame, looks like a c3.
I think it's a C2. note that at the rear uprights, where the trailing arm box is at, it doesn't have the lower diagonal braces, indicative of pre-69 chassis, I think.
Idle should be set to 600 rather than 1200
Come on, everyone, almost any v-8 with the proper drive line would do the job. The body and frame weigh nearly nothing! This car is a blank canvas which could be finished according to anyone's taste.

It would be cheaper to buy this one than build one yourself.
Same is true for all Cobra kit cars unless you are a top-notch builder. There are a few pros that do it for a living but 99% of us would be lucky to get the money back, even if the car has less than 1,000 miles on it.

It's not a Ford, it's a tube frame fiberglass body kit car. A kit replica of an AC Bristol. The original ones were made in Great Britain as you should be aware and weren't a Ford in any way. Then Shelby went to them and the story goes on. I get your point but hell a zillion people like Milners 32 and it had a 283 in it. So......
It's actually a re bodied corvette . All corvette from body down cobra replica frame up. So the 350 actually is what belongs in between the frame rails.
Which kit is this? Factory Five? They do a nice kit. Real nice but at 6'4" my knees would be on the dash and my head sticking out above the windshield. 😂
With that steering wheel cocked when going straight, need to get it on the rack and check the alignment.

are the tires the same size in the back? driver side sticks out quite a bit more than passenger side, is the axle positioned correctly under it? just an observation. love ur content btw, will be stopping by in march while up that way to check out the lot, maybe if my z06 is sold by then and u have a nice chevelle ill be coming homw with a new toy!
I noticed that it looked like the right tire was pointing to the right and the left one was straight. When the undershot went the other way it looked like the right tire was pointing left. It appears to be lens distortion from the wide angle lens on the camera. The way you can tell it’s lens distortion is the telephone pole and building at 8:19 are both not straight. They are angled too.

so much room behind the engine, to the firewall. tempting to move the engine back about 6" for better weight distribution. usually the chevy distributor is a couple inches from the firewall. Hope that battery cover doesn't make contact with that disconnect switch. Zzzzap.

Why, oh why go to the trouble to find the hottest possible place to draw air from to go in that carb. Uhh, there is a hole in the hood right there. Get an old Mr Gasket open top air cleaner or get one from Ron's Fuel fuel injection that is a different design but low and open on top. You want cold air, not hot air from behind the engine. Come on man....

Nice. Built on a C2/C3 Corvette chassis (frame too). I trust that more than a lot of the 'home brew' setups I've seen in kit cars. How is it titled, as a Corvette?

looks like a C2 chassis. they're a couple inches shorter than the C3. battery box behind the drivers seat is absent (under car view). That lower radiator hose looks janky, would fix/replace.

That's a nice car but if i had it that boat anchor 350 would be gone and in would go a gen 2 coyote. If that wouldn't fit, then probably an LS3. That car would be way more fun with a coyote.

You people bitching that it's not a Ford engine need to understand that a small block Chevy is so cheap to do, even if you are thinking pretty high horsepower, compared to even a SBF. To those people saying it needs an FE 427 blah blah blah, you can build 3 small block Chevys for the price of one FE and they are so much easier than an FE. So much peculiar particular stuff in an FE build. I know, I just built one.
