One of my favourite tracks from Beggars Banquet. Mick Taylor gives it wings. Aaah the Roundhouse, Chalk farm, epic venue ! And the band as good as gravy ❤
Ohhhhhh Mick taylor kills it, just listen to his solos like from 2:00, I just can't sit still listening to his guitar, it moves me like no other!!! A TRUE MASTER AND A TALENT!!!
The original strange stray cat in all her glory! We bid you a fond adieu Anita Pallenberg. God bless you and keep you safe. We thank you for your 16 years as the Stones muse, fashion icon, model, actress and mother, Keith's main mama. Bon voyage baby doll!
The Stones needed a great lead guitarist and here he is - Mick Taylor. What tone, feel, and technique! The current line up has nothing on the swagger and bluster of this.
Mick Taylor was the ultimate lead guitarist with the rolling stones, Even if Ronnie Wood has been with them for so long he will never ever sound that fantastic
That's always been my contention. We all love Ronnie and he has made some nice contributions to the Stones music, but Taylor, wow. They lost a great musician when he left.
Keith, playing sooo f***ing nasty! Nobody can compare. The Stones really were the best band in the whole world in '71. They knew it, everybody knew it, God knew it. Every time they played, they had to prove it, and they did!
The picture of Mick at 2:46 is perfect for this badass song. I actually opened a new tab in the browser so I could listen to the whole song while looking at that one image!
it frustrates me when people say that the stones did not get better with age. they still wrote some great songs as they evolved later into their career. "one hit to the body", "hearts for sale", "almost hear you sigh" just to name a few. I still have yet to find even one band I would say overall are better than the stones.
Constructive criticism. Should've shown Mick Taylor, not Keith during the solos. Why have pictures from the 1981 tour when this is 1971. Huge difference.
You're of course entirely correct, and as I've mentioned to other people here - I made this video some years ago before I knew my stones anthology - I just picked photos I thought looked good!
Very true. I had the same thought for a very long time; jumbling up the chronology seems pretty weird. Yet, having seen the new single, 'Angry', I'm not sure I entirely agree with my own opinion: The Stones and Beatles, The Kinks, The Small Faces/Faces, The Doors, Velvet Underground, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, A/C DC, Guns n'Roses etc.,seem to me now to transcend such petty considerations as the ins and outs of Time and Space.
personally i much prefer the yaya's version of this song. i dig the slow grooviness of it (slower than any other version i've heard actually - including the original), and the mick taylor solo's are just blow away.
@@brignallwood4062 It's a very different song from Beggars to ya ya's to this version. On Ya ya's apart from being slower paced Jagger gives a sweeter less menacing melody almost romantic. Here they've taken that version sped it up and there's more menace. That's what's great about the Stones live is there's so many different versions of their songs, sometime they fuck it up but many times they create something new.
Back when boasting about pedophelia was acceptable for Rockers. Jagger even changes the object of his affection from fifteen to thirteen years old in the first verse
I was wondering the year as well because to me the solo sounds more like Ronnie Wood and not Mick Taylor. Don't get me wrong, both are great, but this live version, especially the solo, sounds very different than the one from "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" where Taylor kicks some serious butt: ruclips.net/video/Ij3PD8Jio4o/видео.html
My bootleg recording of Stray Cat Blues in Detroit 1968 is even better! The Stones opened with Street Fighting Man that night. WOW!
Doesn't get any better than this. All 5 of them at their peak and in sync. Powerhouse band, can't get enough of the '71 Stones
Perhaps one of the best Stones' live performance...the solo of Mick Taylor brought up the euphorea to its climax ; a real masterpiece !
Taylor's playing gives me the chills 🥰
Rest in peace, Charlie Watts. The Rolling Stones wouldn't be the same without you.
The absolutely best version.
One of my favourite tracks from Beggars Banquet. Mick Taylor gives it wings. Aaah the Roundhouse, Chalk farm, epic venue ! And the band as good as gravy ❤
that song is not on Beggars Banquet, you are wrong
Stones 1969/73 best rock'n roll band ever!
When Mick T and the horns came to the Stones, they were on top of their business. Must be fantastic to see them in a relativ small venue at the time.
Ladies and gentlemens the greatest rock n roll band in the world!!
You spelt The Grateful Dead wrong.
Stones at their absolute peak. One of their best gigs ever!
Amazing that this is the best quality version of this song on the internet and its from 1971..........thank you
Might be one of the best Rolling Stones songs ever - thank you Mick Taylor 🤘

The Stones must have 'lit up the Roundhouse' like a beacon ! In 1971 threy were at their peak & yes, Mick Taylor DOES KILL IT, Elkhan !
The Stones needed a great lead guitarist and here he is - Mick Taylor. What tone, feel, and technique! The current line up has nothing on the swagger and bluster of this.
Pete Gilgan In this version of the Stones all the players were in their mid to late 20s....today’s stones are in their 70s.....tough comparison
Ronnie was great in the Faces then he became a Stone and kinda fell flat. This is the best lineup.

Great wonderful Stones and wonderful time - Middleearth and Roundhouse in London.
I don't know man, he sounded pretty good on Stay With Me...of course Rod Stewart had something to do with that tune too. lol
@SRFDriver of course, but "Stay With Me" is The Faces!! Ron's best best work of his lifetime.
Best version of Stray Cat Blues ever!!! Awesome. Thumbs up to all the MT fans! Keep it up & keep posting ❤
Agreed!!
The two guitarists have really fleshed this one out by this time.

keith's rhythm guitar is awesome.
Nice GEM , Thanks for posting.... This is what RUclips is all about
I'm so glad that the lyrics are perfectly p.c.! the stones forever!
Jagger's voice also amazing on this, really soulful, as well as Keith's rhythm guitar that sounds really sweet tuned well.
Yupp, as I said I had a lot of problems with my PC making this so I basically scrapped the vid but I figured the music is too killer to not upload ;)
Both great
Thanks for making this available. I've never heard this particular song of the Stones. Great.
You're most welcome :)

So, Mick Taylor and Ron Wood played together at this concert? Or is this a montage of several concerts through the years to fill the span.
This is a montage - I made this when I didn't know too much about the Stones' history I'm afraid - just imaged I fancied!

Why don't you bring her upstairs

Mick Jagger was still singing “13” years old in 1971. Interesting. Pre- Chris Hansen.
I like Ron Wood but Goddamn Mick Taylor era was tremendous ( even the word tremendous is too weak)
Strange similarities with "sweet home alabama"intro. 🤔
I think I read somewhere it was inspired by "Heroin", Velvet Underground.
This the one time Taylor overwhelmed the song. Actually liked the official Version with Ronnie better in 03.
Really good version of a great song, Mick T is on fire, but I reckon the Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out version is better, especially the vocals
While the solo you should show Mick T not Keith.
