I'm trying to find a live version but that's a lot older... I have to sing it with a band tomorrow and besides the record version I'm curious what it sounded like live in the 70's or 80's. Help! :) Thanks!
Sensational performance!!!! I loved the dynamics that Charlie gives to the drums. Keef Richards being the same riff maker he always was. It sounds like a Led Zeppelin song featuring Santana, and performed by the Stones. nothing can sound better
I think that was the idea kind of Afro/latin song with a solo by mick Taylor in a Santana style, mick always admire Carlos sound and his style of playing, Bobby keys just wonderful the extra that makes this version better the harmonica solo by mick
An absolute essential Blu ray concert in my Stones collection I think this masterpiece edges both the Fonda show and Licked in New York shows. Take a bow everyone 👏 🙌 ✨ 🇮🇪
@@guipinsan Yeah, production wise, this is probably the "better" mix, but the compression on the other version makes it feel more "alive" to me haha. Regardless, such a killer version. My go-to for this song, for sure.
The Taylor years were their most creative and artistically productive. Some of the best music ever recorded. The Wood years have just been like a fun party that’s gone on for way too long. No comparison. Also, cool to see Jim Keltner on percussion here!
@@vintagedrummer79I agree completely. I have no problems with Ron Wood . Very good all around musician but he adds nothing to this band. It feels like they've been on cruise control since 1975. I will give them credit , from Steel Wheels till their mid 2000's they were an excellent live act. Today I can barely watch the live stuff. It's like a pro athlete that hung on 3 years to many.

Question : There's some guy that's playing the cowbell that is standing next to Lisa and Bernard. . . . Don't recognize him. Does anybody know who he is?
Jim Keltner on cow bell. Long time friend of Charlie. Worked with every Beatle (after breakup), Ry Cooder, drummer for Traveling Wilburies, 1000s of sessions. (Maybe Blondie Chaplin was on stage, it's kinda hard to see the singers, but Chaplin is definitely not the guy on cow bell.)
If you want to hear how this song is supposed to sound, listen to Glastonbury 2013. Mick Taylor made the Stones sound like the Stones again. This is a good imitation.
I saw the stones at Madison Square garden in 2003 and that was their last great tour I seen video footage of the 2024 tour and they're just not the same stones
I always felt that Steve Marriott would have been a better choice to replace Mick Taylor. Ron Wood is great at driving rock n roll, but Marriott would have easily played lead parts much more melodic and cleaner than Wood.

Let's not forget the late great Bobby Keys on the sax.
HE was awesome !! Yeahg Im 57
@@jefflopp9938 he makes that song
They did the impossible. I mean, it's impossible to do the original justice, but they killed it. Boy was this bangin' !
Yeahhhh.....Bangin!! 😄 🥰

Playing it LOUD here in Ireland.
@@andrewbrennan7291Here too in Longford 🕺👅🎵🎶💎🔥👌
This song is always amazing. But the solo buy Ronnie at the is just simple the best. Your amazing Ronnie
Is this one song? I recognize second composition after minute 3
...meh ...
Oh, Charlie...miss you. RIP😢
Did you know him?

@@jacintocastaneda6496 I love this song
@@jacintocastaneda6496 Taylor alway played in Taylor unique style, technic and sound
I think the fall on the head took a lot out of Keith Richards. He played better before that. Of course age is a factor.
this is what rock and roll is all about boys and girls !
Ron Wood had big shoese to fill on that solo amazing
good old Stones charmin' the snakes!
Hell YES~~~~!
Got this 71-year😎🥸🤓🥳🍺🍹🍸🎸🎷🎤🎺🎶🎵🎼 young rocking and rolling these old bones again in Oct 20 2024. Rock On*

This band never disappoint. Bravo performance,
Best Bend vorever ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
This is the best version. I prefer the mix on the Live Licks record (same recording), but they KILLED it with this performance!!
This mix is less muddled I think, you can hear the the guitars louder without the annoying piano fiddling

First time I heard Jagger playing a harp on this song, or anyone else playing a harp on this song.
Best version ever
Better than the album.
Yep. Without a doubt.
Good job Ronnie. Don't let them diss ya
Mr. Wood almost taking over the stage. 😂loved it.
What a Great song. IMHO the best stones song ever.
Yep. I think so too.
😂❤🎉😂❤🎉💘👍💘🏠🙋🎧📺🌠📸💐THANK"S FOR THIS CONCERT/LIVE 🤣😂🤩🥳🥳🥳😎💘I LOVE THIS GROUP/ROCK'N ROLL WITH MICK 😎🤣😂🤩🥳💐
Thanks to you too! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Wonderful !
That’s one of the heaviest songs
Stellar version !!!
Merci!
Stones forever !
Their last great tour where they all sounded superb
Die stones sind auch ohne jagger ausgesprochen super!!!!
Ich war einmal in Hannover dabei oh war das geil❤
Wish i’ld seen them live
They're most likely touring Europe next summer.
As good as it gets 👍🏼
Una obra de arte musical
Sublime.
Jim Keltner en la percusión!!!!
Es la versión que aparece en el álbum Live Licks. Me gusta mucho.
Who needs Mick Taylor here? End of the Taylor's tale, he was never a Stone and disappeared after he left

Totalmente de acuerdo
Ronnie süper solo çekmiş ❤
Excelent Song and Voice!!❤
Simplemente geniales 🙌
Charlie Watts was amazing on this gig. The band was on its top.
Keith still had some lingering vitality then.
I think that head injury took a lot out of him. It happened a couple years after this performance.
♥♥
Mick Tylor you are missed
Yes he is! Ron Wood is a solid player and musician but he's not the virtuoso player Taylor is.
@@philwidmor1164 This guitar solo here is ... just nothing, less than mediocre.
Not really
Rolinkai jėga!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂
Yo - Jim Keltner on cow bell !!
I’ve become concerned that the stones may be up there in the stratosphere . . . Good 😌 real good
NOT played YET in THE USA in 2024 ?????

Live is as good but different than studio version . . . very unique quality

Blondie Chaplin. In my playlist for this concert, in the last video, there is the entire lineup.

@rca88 Thanks
Somehow I expected Mick Taylor to step in.
Bobby was to the Stones, as Clarence to Springsteen, and Alto to Seger!!
Next album title "Charmin' the snakes"!

Without Mick Taylor it falls flat, especially after the sax solo.
2003
Mick Taylors guitar solo very much missing, but a goody for live performance, very good saxophone rendering!!!!!

Arthur it is
Is the audience awake?
Gee you’d never know they had a bass player DARYL JONES for the last couple of decades. It’s a disgrace how he’s been hidden
🎩
👅
Without Mick Taylor it doesn't work.
Beste version mit mick taylor!!!!
No Mick Taylor...such a shame

Yeah, I was disappointed in their choice of Wood. Jim Satten is one hell of a guitarist.
the timimg is off
Not bad for a bar band...
Almost as good as superdome 81
I hate to see this dabbler trying to do the holy MT solo
Riff not as great as on record.
