I remeber getting Voodoo Lounge for my 11th birthday. I still adore that album. This song was perhaps one of the strongest ones on that record. Stones, I love you, thru and thru.
Keith Richards' pick work and especially his voice (!) impresses me a great deal with this song! Great sound! And, great choice by David Chase as the finishing track to the Soprano's Season 2 finale!
wow.......... he is slaying himself on stage for this song... he sounds so fucking awsome and he wears his life on his face.!! i love his voice its so understated and it just fits the music he writes
One of my favorites Stones songs. I saw them in Hershey PA in '05. They were amazing. I only wish I wasn't 9 at the time so I could have appreciated it even more than I did.
Keith was born one thousand years ago and will continue for another thousand. Gracing all with humour, humility and good-will towards men. Through the telecaster and humble beautiful voice
What makes special guitarists like Keith is having all the tools and tricks but just giving what the song needs, he could be licking and shredding all over this to say look at what I can do but not serving the song!! That’s what makes them real pros is serving the song!! This was simple and beautiful let the riff and melody do most of the work and give it spice when it needs it not just cause u can!!!
I remember seeing this on HBO one year and I was head over heels in love with Keith Richards. Then in '07 I couldn't find this song anywhere on here until '08 and it was very grainy, but I was happy. It's good to see that someone uploaded an awesome version of this song. Thanks for the upload. Just look at his sexy self. Get it, honey!
That was my favorite Stones song for a long time, Voodoo Lounge was the first album I heard, my father bought when I was about to be born in 1996! This album, as well as the compilation '1 'by the Beatles really marked my childhood!! P.S: I would love to see a show of the Stones, when they come to Brazil again want to go to the show!
Thanks for the post. I had never heard this song, very beautiful. I'd imagine he wrote this, like Coming Down Again ('72), very simple melodically but pretty. Remotely reminds me of Knopfler from Dire Straits.
Sopranos what??? used to listen to this song endlessly when the album came out. But I guess it's good Sopranos turned people into it, because it's great. Long Live Keef
sopranos has great music, one minute you get steely dan dirty work, frankie sinatra it was a very good year, this , smoke on the water... best show period ever made, this song is so great
I've been wanting to hear this song since first seeing it when HBO aired the Rolling Stones concert from MSG way back in 2003,thanks for the upload, well worth the wait.
This concert was the first time I ever got to hear this song, before I knew it was on the 2nd Season Finale of the Sopranos. I caught that Keith thanked the Sopranos for this song and that made me go hunt it out in the Sopranos, which then of course hooked me on the show! So not only did this AMAZING concert hook me on this fucking masterpiece of a song by a musical genius, it turned me onto one of the greatest shows ever made. So thank you to the Rolling Stones for two amazing gifts!
IF THIS DOSEN'T YOUR SOUL AND HEARR,,IT CAN'T BE MOVED ,NOT BY A SONG ANYWAY, KEEF AT HIS BEST,LOVE TO MEET THAT MAN,ICON,HUMAN RIFF, SIT FOR DAYS,MAYBE WRITE A SONG ,CALL ME GHOST STONE,FEELS LIKE IT THESE DAYS, AND THEN HE PLAYS MAYBE MY FAVORITE SONG OF HIS HAPPY, I HAVE BURNED A HOLE IN MUCH CLOTHING,AND LRT US NOT MENTION COOKING, HA,HA,WALTER B,MEMPHIS ☠☠☠😝😝😝☠☠☠
On a sidenote, I think the stones really made a better performance with this than Guns 'n Roses would have in their glorydays with their best songs. These guys sing and play true. This music is true.
This is one of the better Keef performances I've ever seen. So raw and spot on
"You were like a brother to me"
..."To all of us"
+Awais Safir It's disturbing to me that over two months later I'm the first and only one to give this comment a thumbs up. Amazing quote.
Pussy
William Harvey you obviously don’t know who the quote was from otherwise why would you ask that question?
@@billybatts9491 did you do 20 years in the can by any chance?
He says..."We have to thank the Sopranos for that one, otherwise I'd have forgotten it"

Massive Stones and Keith fan here, but it took me years and years to realize this one really sucks.
Na, you're missing the atmosphere of this one. It's a testament to being down and out. I particularly liked how the Soprano's TV series used it.

If k eef is on lead vocals I'm all in
