Some of the most electrifying rhythm guitar lines ever laid down have been done so by Mr. Keith Richards. This is one of the best examples. This is rock n' roll in all its raw power. Chuck Berry's best student.
There is more great rhythm guitar in this one performance than many other great guitarists can put into an entire album. And Keith Richards makes it look so damn easy, which for him it probably is. I get the feeling we're peeping through a window looking at Keith's rhythm soul here. Love this!
Yeah, he always looks as if he's making it up as he goes along, and yet it always works better than licks practiced slavishly to "perfection" by others. Cheers!
Keef’s guitar style isn’t flamboyant, and his abilities are a polar opposite from those of the flashy “gunslinger” guitar players who aspire to fit as many notes in a measure as is physically possible-and often produce nothing memorable. Indeed, it is Keef’ lack of flash that makes him so unique. His ability to blend lead and rhythm guitar playing to create seminal riffs. Long life master . Greetings from Brazi 🇧🇷😎🤘
LOVE this SONG,GREAT RHYTHM AND THAT BACK BEAT,STEVE THE BEAST,ONE OF MY FAVORITES OFF OF THIS ALBUM, AND JUST ONE OF MY KEITH RICHARDS SONGS,MAN THIS IS GREAT ROCK N'ROLL, Walter B.Memphis. 😛☠🌠🏔🌍😡💯
Thought the venue looked familiar, I was at this freakin' show !! Just checked my ticket stub, Feb. 13, 1993 at the Orpheum in Boston. Main Offender tour. Saw him in Dec. of 1988 on the Talk Is Cheap tour, also at the Orpheum. KEEEEEFFF !!!
If you had to encapsulate the power of rock and roll, check out the sheer joy between Richards and Wachtel from 2:20 to 2:35. Watching closely, does Richards cue his friend with a simple flick of the thumb? Sensational!
Ivan Neville on keys. I met Ivan about 35 years ago when he was the opening act for Robert Cray. He was super nice to talk with, he and some of his band were just walking casually around the lobby in the theater right after he came off stage before Robert went on. My friend I went with had just finished a leg of the tour working for Robert a few days earlier and was owed some pay. He asked me to drive him to the show and said he’d get us backstage passes and the works at the show. We got a wee bit drunk during the show and were scouring the dressing rooms for beer at the end of the concert. We hit the jackpot in one room and were tipping back some Heinekens we’d found when all the sudden Robert Cray walks in seeing us drinking his beer 😲😲. I don’t think he was very happy but was cool after I started telling how much I loved the show and his set. Talked about guitars and gear a bit since I was a seasoned guitarist to calm things. He mellowed his scowl and gave us a six pack to go which we didn’t need. 😂 My brush with a legend! Stealing his beer. I bet my friend never got asked back to tour with Robert again.😝.
I´ve seen this video in 2024 at least twenty times and i´m not tired. That telecaster sound and de magician of Keith giving us a recital of rhithm guitar.
I miss the day when songs like this we’re heard on a mass scale à la FM radio. Keith would’ve had a number of songs make the airwaves from both us first two wino’s albums!! Just awesome stuff

@@bobblaszczak7972 Most definitely!!! ...In case you didn't know, he & Keith were both born on Dec 18, 1943. And for the rest of the folks out there who don't know Bobby, he is the one on the far left of the stage in this video wearing a green shirt. His status while with the Rolling Stones was saxophone & tequila; the sax kept his dancing to a minimum vs this video. RIP Bobby.

You're so right!! 👍 There are some terrific moments like from 0:50 to 0:55
Fantastic 👌 love you Keith
Excellent post, and very accurate. Believe it or not, he has much the same "style" in the bedroom.
Only 1 Keith.
Yeah, he always looks as if he's making it up as he goes along, and yet it always works better than licks practiced slavishly to "perfection" by others. Cheers!
And this ladies and gentlemen is how it is done.
As fast and loose and yet as bang on as it gets, our Keef.
Kieth totally getting down ...with WADDY !! holy crap. FANTASTIC !! cool AF.
Thank you rock and roll Gods for making me a teenager in the late 60's and 70's.
@panda panda yes. can understand.
Let it Bleed.
Absolutely!
Many thanks from me too! Save Keith for more and more years
THERE’S NEVER GONNA BE ANOTHER PERSON TO TOP KEEF’s TALENT‼️♥️🎸💯%

Truth. He's the epitome of 'Live Fast, Die Old'
No one can keep up with him. Don't even try, it's suicide.

Keith
He is pretty hot ever since he got away from Jagger
Pure Keith at his best
This is IT. The PURE stuff! Rock...with the ROLL! Loose, true and flowing. Had the pleasure to see them in LA. Good times.
Keith Richards absolute rock star.
Genial!!!
A true superhero.
What a great song,Steve Jordan is driving the tune and Richards and Wachtel are on fire.
Steve Jordan does Charlie here but his own way, as it must be!
Keith rocks,he puts his soul in every note as always, that makes yhe difference between a living legend and a 15 minutes time star of today
Duke Ellington said, "If it sounds good... it is good." Keith Richards' music has always sounded good, period.
His voice is a dream, i love this man, he's so precious
She got a mind of her own, & She use it well. Yeah. She's one of a kind.
Yeah he’s got a great sound singing. And the way he performs just comes across so effortless, just pure classic rock as it should be.
What are you talking about????? He is not a good vocal performer and he is not a good guitarist!!!!!!!!
@carlosbuendia671 if your seeking attention see a psychiatrist instead of talking nonsense on here.
Don't be stupid Richards is one of the worst guitarists in rock field!!!
THIS SONG IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO UNDERRATED!!!
AGREED, I LOVE THIS SONG🤟❤️🤟🎶🤟❤️
When I grow up I want to be Keith Richards
I think that's the point, with Keith; that's why he's so good, he never quite grew up!
There will NEVER be another.
@@petermills542 They feed off one another. I believe we lose one, we will lose the other in short time.
five years later....do you looks like him or not?
Begins buying 10000 cigarettes boxes and a Tele with 5 strings.
I like him doing "Little T & A" in 1982 as well. They closed comments . Keith could say so much with just a glance of his eyes. Much Respect to Keef
I was lucky enough to catch 2 of 3 Richards shows here in Boston in 1993. I'll never forget that. Awesome!
You're a true lucky man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me too! Good time!
I saw them in SF but they didn't play that song. They were playing the first album. I don't remember if they did 2 tours.
Saw em in St Paul in ‘93. Awesome awesome show.
Keith's and Waddy's tones on this are heavenly!
Yeah......Waddy has seen just a couple of gigs😆 He was great with Linda Ronstadt back in the 70's.....Tumbling Dice is still a favorite.
@@mikerieck306 your right, Linda s performance of Tumbling Dice with Waddy is pure knockout 👏👏
Fenders need not to say anymore👏
Thank you ❤
Thanks for helping me get through tougher times, Keith. Love you

Keith at his absolute best. Bobby just killing the chicken shake 😂

Keith's best performance. He was ALIVE.
SO interesting to see Keith as the front man and band leader.

Waddy Wachtel, that guy has been everywhere with everyone!
When Keith was putting this band together Waddy was number one on his wish list ( he already had Steve Jordan).
The riff Meister extraordinary 🙌🙌❤️
YEAH! Keef is the human Riff! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💋💋💋💋
Gracias RICHARDS POR TANTO, como voy a llorar el día que No estés más.
A mares yo también..... Un saludo.
4:27 to 4:47 Keith rips a rhythm guitar clinic. Solid musicianship from the gut on out.
0:50 to 0:55 It's TERRIFIC!!!
That ain't no rhythm guitar. He's leading everyone on stage.
wonderful keith-riff and stones-sound!
Steve Jordan groove here.. jeez scary good
This is by far his best solo album from start to finish
Talk is Cheap n Main Offender 2 very good CD’s 😎👍

I always loved how Keith said some rockers forget about the”roll” in Rock”n Roll… the great syncopation in his rhythm playing 😀

Wow! Just shows the moves you can do when you have an open G tuning on your guitar. 👍
The drummer totally makes this work.
The drummer is Steve Jordan who now plays with the Stones. Charlie’s choice.

I like driving gravel roads with a Pointing Dog Slobbering out the window while blasting this song.
Keith's pauses are better than most guitarist's notes.
Black Music + Sensuality + Rock'n roll = The Rolling Stones ... and Keith is at the center of it
I am pretty sure Bobby Keys stole my dance moves. God I miss this group.
