POV: It's 2007 I get home from school on the bus, run down the driveway, into the house, and onto the computer. I turn on 103.7 the KRRO (the only rock station in a sea of country in the middle of no where South Dakota). I log onto Runescape and play with all of my friends that i was just talking to an hour ago in school. This song blasts on the radio sitting next to me followed by some Linkin Park. I grab a diet coke from the fridge without my parents noticing and life is good.

I never really listened to Paramore, but my very first girlfriend was obsessed with them. This was her favourite song and she probably played it for me 1,000 times against my will. Sadly she passed away many years ago, so hearing this song now gives me immense nostalgia and sorrow. I've grown to love this song for that reason. Miss you Sarah ❤
the aesthetics of punk-pop of late 2000 is so inspiring. Guao so many likes: misery business it's from 2007 so it's mid 2000's . Anyway an ✨ ICONIC ✨ transition era in pop culture
Marilyn the Person I'm 11 too! I remember hearing this on the radio when I was, about, five/six, and I loved it. My sister plays it sporatically (or however you spell that) on her phone, and I've always had this song somewhere in my heart. :D
@@manfrezone3826 I remember seeing her at one of their first performances. She was 17 and everyone else in the band was also under 18 and they had X's on their hands. The venue was 14+, I was 12 and my mom had to stay with me lol.
He left then came back to be part of the band a few years ago! Super glad he came back because the ridiculously intense drums have always been a hallmark for Paramore imo
I love Zac, he is an incredible drummer. When he left Paramore he started a band called halfnoise, and early on in the band he played drums and did lead vocals. Check out Hurricane Love if you're curious, really shows off his drumming skills.
I don't think you meant to say tones there. Drums aren't really tonal instruments. I mean obviously drums have a tone, that's why you have to tune them lol. But you can't play a melody or a harmony on a drum, you can't play a scale or a progression. Of course you could tune a drum to a specific note. So a drum is technically capable of harmonizing with other instruments. But since the drum can't play any other pitch than that one note, it will be forced to play out of key at some point during the progression if it's note isn't apart of the tonic of that progression. Which means the drum will be playing atonal harmonies most of the time. Which makes it an atonal instrument. And since atonal literally means 'without tone,' you gotta see my point. Not to mention the fact that most rock and metal drummers deliberately dampen the tonal resonance of their drums, thereby making it unlikely that you genuinely "love those tones." I have come up with two potential statements which I believe you meant to make there. 1. "The drummer is a monster. His drums sound great." In that case I gotta say, you'd be misguided again. The sound quality of the drums is due to three factors. Those factors, from most impactful to least impactful are: The production crew who did the mixing and mastering (as well as setting up the drums), then the quality of the materials used (everything from microphones to the drum kit itself), and lastly, the drummer and his ability to write and accurately perform a track which suits the dynamic feel of the song. So you see, the drummer being a monster is almost irrelevant to the sound quality of the drums. But It still makes more sense than "love those tones." 2. "The drummer is a monster. Love those rhythms/beats/fills/ etc." This statement makes the most sense to me, however I still have a problem with it. Let's just assume the drumming we hear in this recording isn't just a midi file, assume he actually played a real drum kit here. Yeah, sure he's good. He's better than me, more technically sound at least. But honestly he doesn't play anything super impressive here. Id say it's decent rock drumming at best. Nothing innovative or particularly exciting. The most memorable moment is the accents he does during the build up in the breakdown. Over all his playing suits the song very well, but he's no Nicko McBrain or Gene Hogan. So there you have it. Now I've explained how your original statement was wrong (and frankly baffling), and how everything you could have possibly meant to say was also wrong (even if it was better than what you actually said). You probably shouldn't have even left a comment really. It only served to incite chaos in the minds of people who generally think before they speak. Thank goodness I was here to help even out the unbalance your comment has caused. I'm no hero, the brave fire fighters who were active responders during 9/11 are the real heros. No, I'm just a man who tries to help his community when he can. And your terrible... Terrible comment gave me an opportunity to serve the public. Dog bless America

@@brianphoon8481 I'd say if you're trying to get into emo rock music listen to ruclips.net/video/mdQ1WpM5IjY/видео.html . It is a mashup of 42 different emo songs. It can be difficult to appreciate if you haven't heard any of the songs before, but I listened to this before I got into emo music and it really helped introduce me to a lot of songs/bands I ended up loving. There are timestamps in the description of all of the different songs and when in the mashup they are used so that you can look up the ones you liked. My personal favorite songs (as of now) that are in the mashup are All I Want by A Day to Remember, Jamie All Over by Mayday Parade, and Dear Maria Count Me In by All Time Low. The only reason I'm not including a lot of the others is that I've listened to them all so many times that I'm not as passionate about them anymore, which I guess just means I love them. So, yeah I didn't mean to write a book, but check that out. :)
@@brianphoon8481 heyy, im 17 too so also didn't really grow up with this music but I do know a lot of bands like the ones you mentioned and I love mgk, yb and fob too, so i'd recommend you all time low, my chemical romance, panic! at the disco, maybe Waterparks and the Bring me the Horizon's "that's the sprit" album (most of their music is either metal or some really trippy shit, which are also amazing, but this album specifically is a lot like these bands, maybe a bit harder)
Here because a girl I met on tinder said she’s into “pop punk emo shit” being into hip hop I had no idea and googled what it was. Solid fun stuff over here
Paramore goes in soo hard on this right here! Only reason they aint getting more hits is cuz Paramore aint just watchign that short *on my channel* explaining how all these rappers out here be blowing up so big
Now everyone please rise for the national anthem. But seriously miss watching mtv in the morning before school and songs like this were on. The good old days that I never knew I would miss this bad.
I saw Paramore when they were first getting big, Luckily, I received a broken drumstick from their set! What an amazing band and vocal ability they have. Rockin it definitely!!!
I love how Hayley effortlessly _destroys_ that girl at the end when everyone else was afraid of her. That's the kind of justice I wanted to see bullies get when I was in high school
this was one of the last bands of the 2000s energy that came out. Then after that we on to EDM like Daft Punk , Afrojack , the Bloody Beetroots, Zedd, Skrillex. Then after Marshmallow and Alan Walker came out and dominated, EDM is now out of the door. Now we are in the viral/tiktok era with a sprinkle of Kpop here and there.
To people saying I want the old para more back I have a quote "times change, and so must I...we all change. When you think about it,we are all different people, all through our lives and that's okay, that's good! You've gotta keep moving as long as you remember all the people you use to be." Para more May evolved their sounds but it's still para more and I love their more rocker sound and their lighter pop sound. If you can't get over their evolution as a band you're not a fan of theirs you're just a fan of the genre they started in
Benitez I fail to see how they sound like lady gaga. Either way I'd rather listen to a band sing what feels right to them. Like some other people have commented they are probably just experimenting with new sounds. But people just like the ones in paramore change if they don't try new things they will get boring and repetitive. you will probably say something about how they don't have to change genre to try new things. just all these I miss the old paramore comments just feel like people trapped in the past struggling to evolve to change. I would be a liar if I said I love change I use to hate it. I use to which everything could just stay the way it was but before you know it they might be making an album going back to the type of music that got them popular. I'm not a big pop fan actually I listen to more country than pop but when I really like someone's voice like Hayley Williams I don't care what genre they are in. I enjoy it. I was just trying to point out that they are going through change and maybe this is just one of the phases they go through as a band.
....You can still be a fan of them. It's not your fault if you just flat-out don't like their new sound, but you loved their old sound. They're very different.
Same I didn’t even know Olivia rodrigo made a remix to this I just wanted to listen to this work of art again and olivias name popped up. I was so confused lol

The drummer is a monster. Love those tones.
Came back here from ArtofDrumming's video, and yep
Zac Farro is a *dude* 🤘🏿
But It still makes more sense than "love those tones."
I can't stop liking this.

If you can't get over their evolution as a band you're not a fan of theirs you're just a fan of the genre they started in
Doctor Who :D
If change means making music Lady Gaga style, I think the concept of "times change" is a farce.
Opinions are like a**holes. Some stink some don't. An open public forum means criticism and support. Try and not let your feelings get hurt.
....You can still be a fan of them. It's not your fault if you just flat-out don't like their new sound, but you loved their old sound. They're very different.
I love Paramore with all my heart but it somehow saddens me to be re-watching this in 2024. Where the hell did the time go?
