I really appreciate people like you that take care of their "old" cars.
It's obvious you "take care of your stuff".
There is a way to add an aux input to the stock radio but it involves some delicate soldering, and the video I found wasn't to detailed.

Thanks for the comment. The exterior is starting to get to be pretty rough, it’s an outdoor daily driver and gets the salt treatment in the winters so the undercarriage is fairly rusted and one of the fenders is starting to rust on top, not to mention I have a big dent in one of the rear quarter panels and the notorious white paint is bubbling up in more places so I just spray it in with white rustoleum (which somehow matches perfectly aside from not being clear coated) since it’s a losing battle unless you have the car resprayed. So for me at least the interior reflects how I like to keep my cars. Even with the wear and tear it’s still just over 80k miles and hasn’t needed much of anything aside from maintenance and will need a new exhaust soon so it’ll probably rust to pieces before it mechanically fails. I’d like to get another one as more of a summer car and keep in better shape but I’ve noticed now the prices for these cars are going up since they’re going on almost 10 years old for the most recent ones and I guess there’s less and less out there now. Although from time to time you’ll still see a low mileage gem that an older person never drove and they either don’t know what it’s worth or just want to get rid of it.
The entire interior is beyond beautiful.
I've been reading these cars very comfortable to drive. Those seats combined with its large size, looks perfect for long trips driving down the interstate.

Nice grand marquis. I have power on pass side as well now power pedals though. I have an 04 crown vic. I like the arm rest riser, I need that.

Man all I can say is this video was A1+. Perfect. You’re detailing is on point and you explained everything very well. I definitely got to look up how to properly clean windows though 😅 I would clean mine every week or so with windex, shoot to not have to for over a year would be great.
Usually no matter how good the windows look once you are driving at night under a street light you can still see a bunch of streaks, especially if there's any humidity then you have to run the front window defroster so the streaks don't fog up. However since I've had this car I've been able to get away with only doing the inner side of the windows every year or so compared to my last car which had a vinyl interior that must have always been off gassing and put a hazy film on the windows every few weeks. Fortunately the interior on this car stays pretty good looking so I rarely armor all the vinyl and plastics but I could probably at least spray the leather conditioner on the front seats every couple of months just to keep them from deteriorating.

i have a 2004 gs too, interior is exactly the same & two tone outside but the spruce green metallic on top & parchment bottom

Funny enough, the 88 and 92 Grand Marquis you mention are actually the exact same length or SHORTER than your 04 Marquis here. These cars were around 212" long from 1979 to 2011. The box generation (79-91) being around 211". These cars always had poor rear legroom due to the relatively short 114" wheelbase. The seats became a lot thicker in around 03 and it further cut down on rear legroom.

It was a generic car arm rest on eBay because I couldn’t find one of this size on Amazon but the last time I looked I think you can find ones on Amazon that are this same style. As long as it’s actual memory foam it stays fairly firm and returns back to shape.

Interesting, I thought only the GCC Export models for 2003-2005 came with the metal inserts for the door sills. I have an '04 LS and have just the plain plastic like your back door sills.
I never really researched the panther platform trim levels because there’s so many different slight variations and options but I believe this was a special model GS called the convenience package which was mostly just LS options like leather seats and power seats but also has the Mercury logo on the c-pillars (like some older models did,) the Mercury logo embossed in the leather seats, two tone paint job, painted door handles, the Lincoln style metal door sills, and I believe the grill had the Mercury hood ornament on it but the previous owner told me it was hit by a deer and I can see some body work done on the bumper and fender so I assume they just put a regular grill without the hood ornament on it because they’re probably hard to come by.
@@Mr.Everything Sounds exactly like the GCC exports to the middle east in each detail. I'm not sure if they did the same trim here in the U.S.; perhaps they did, but rare either way. Nice car!

I recently got a new TV that doesn’t have a component input for the PS2 so I was considering buying a component to HDMI adapter which would also work for other pre-HD consoles. I might see how that works out and do a video on it.

Where did you find the floor mats?
I searched for Grand Marquis floor mats on eBay and went with the color closest to my carpeting.

Dad has one, we plan on restoring his 2007. The only problem is the fucking paint. Other than that, the interior is still pretty okay.
