Found out that if you take off bumper it already has the markings so you just need to make pilot holes then hole saw from out side of the bumper to stop any paint chipping
Quick tip: instead of stripping the wire and soldering, simply use a quick splice wire connector or a T-tap wire connector. Piece of cake - takes a few seconds, looks neat, easy to disconnect, cheap - no wonder some parking sensor kits contain one of these.
On the black trim, better to drill at 80mm instead of 30mm. That will fit like the oem sensors, and as written in one comment, it can be seen on the back of the absorber. On my 2009 EU Fiesta, the reverse wire is the full blue, took me some tries to find it so here is a tip for the viewers. Thanks for this nice and helpful video 👍🏻 though.
Hey can you do this with a 2022+ Ford Maverick? I never knew it didn't come with the truck except for the Lariat models -__- wasted money on the XTL Luxury package thinking it would come with it.
I just bought an original set from a Fiesta ST in my color from eBay. Drilled 29 mm and plugged the sensors in the socket that’s already behind all the Fiesta bumpers haha. Fixed it in forscan and tadaa. Original PDC on the screen and through the speakers
Many thank's ive been thinking of doing this job on my v70 for the last 3 years, since i sold my range rover i got used to the lazy convenience of parking sensors, you make it look easy enough for a sunday morning job, thank you again all the best to you
Haha I used to work at Ford so I have done hundreds of these. They are a very good upgrade, and will increase the cars value so I definitely recommend 👍
Correct. It will draw power from the reverse light. Same with the reverse camera with led lights. If you wire it in and flip to reverse the leds light up and the dash cam goes into the reverse mode.
merci bro pour cette video sorry for my english i m french i buy a 8 sensors rear and front i need to connect two cables , one to the rear light (plain blue the same of yours i think) but i need connect another cable to the brake light , do you know the color of the cable ? thanks i have fiesta 2015
You say you have fitted loads working at ford, however, My 2018 car has canbus wiring, could you advise me whether you can connect the power from the reversing light wiring as you have shown with no issues
Activate what? It's powered by the reverse light signal.. Same as connecting to a 12v battery in your bedroom, it'll still function. Talking of, I've just had an idea. Battery charger will be permanent 12v... Install sensors into a driveway tree, push wall etc Power by the battery charger When you reverse up (or drive forward) the 'wall' or 'tree' will beep
hey my man, thanks for the vid! how did you find out which was the reverse cable? I've got a mondeo 2011 and assume might be the same but want to check it 100% before ripping out.

Honestly i prefer to make small in between looms with terminals so if I ever have to swap it out it's quick conmect.
Is this an aftermarket kit? Did it affect any of your assistance sensors like blind spot or cross traffic warning?
Hey mate, I have the same version. What drill bit did you use? Can you link it. Thanks :)
Brilliant tutorial. Far better than the Dolphin one where you couldn’t see a thing.
What did you unplug? We can't find those cables underneath the lining.

Does it work if you put an unofficial Android Radio?
Can you tell us was it easy to find the socket?
Hi, I'd love to know what that recess drill bit is called please.
I've tried looking up the above but no joy!
Thanks
How did you pass the cables through the inside of the bumper and through the panel inside the boot?
He’s show gromit ( black circles ) in boot floor that have to make a hole in to bring in

Does that speaker connect to your car speakers? If not do u know how you would?
Can I connect reverse camera in the same cable?
Thnx! My bumper stop working and now i can replace it with new
Who's kit is that
Hey Ewan, great video! Is there a way to add sensors and also have it so you get a visual display on the small screen?
There are kits with the screen. If you have an aftermarket infotainment and head unit you can wire those in the infotainment system.
hello ewan are they any good you maid it look so simple good vid thanks

@@ewanwillis8514 MANY THANKS PAUL
Since you're only tapping into the reverse power wire, realistically these can be installed on any car right?
Correct. It will draw power from the reverse light. Same with the reverse camera with led lights. If you wire it in and flip to reverse the leds light up and the dash cam goes into the reverse mode.
What soldergun do you use?
Where did you get the drill bits from?
Its in the package
@@niume7468 Not for the kit I received
I used to work for Ford so I already had them, I’m sure you can buy them
@ewanwillis8514 do you where I can purchase the counter sink bit
Nice video the wiring is the same model 5d or 3d;how long take for this?
Took me around an hour👍
@@ewanwillis8514 end with bumper on the car ;
Why did you fit them to the plastic? I thought they have to go on the metal?
Great job.
Hi. Good video, thanks. What is the name of the ridge cutter bit you're using to recess the sensors?
Nice video, Ewan.

Why do you need to connect one wire to the brake light? That’s unusual in my experience

It will be the exact same process, it will still have a reverse light wire to the bulb👍 hope that helps
@@ewanwillis8514 thanks
@@ewanwillis8514 Is there any solution without soldering?
@@samfkt The proper way to do it would be soldering. You can buy one cheap but alternatively you can use crimps... just wouldn't be the ideal way👍

What is the type of the sensor please send me the link
Xvision From a Ford dealership
Where did you get the kit from???
Ford dealership mate
You say measure 30mm down. 30mm down from what ?
Lesley Smith sorry I should’ve been more descriptive. I measured 30mm down from the black trim part of the rear bumper.
Ewan Willis ..assume that also applies to outer sensors...30mm down from light
Lesley Smith yeah that’s right👍
great video just bought the same car and same colour lol, can you put a link to the corner brackets, the kit and the drill cutters you used cheers
I got everything from my local Ford dealership, the sensors are xvision
Did you have to activate anything? Or was it already pre activated? Thanks
Nope no activation required
Activate what?
It's powered by the reverse light signal..

Wiring diagram, or you can use a multimeter, test for 12v on each wire when reverse gear is selected. Hope that helps👍
