  • How to Fit rear parking sensors for less than £20. This step by step guide shows how colour matched reversing sensors can be fitted cheaply and easily to a car. Rear parking sensors are easy to fit with a little basic DIY knowledge. This video shows reverse parking sensors being a Ford Fiesta and to a Toyota Yaris but the method used can be applied to any vehicle.
    The rear parking sensors fitted in the video can be found on amazon UK here: amzn.to/3dT5DQz
    or on ebay here: www.ebay.co.uk...
    Both kits were identical apart from the outer packaging.
    A similar kit can be found on amazon in Australia/NZ here: amzn.to/3CntG3J

    No, we Yanks also call those "bumpers." The "fenders" are the areas of the car body surrounding the wheels. Good video.

    Great priced units, but it looks a little bit too much effort to me, I'll just continue to have my wife hang her head out of the back window making 'beeping' noises that progressively get louder and louder as my rear end heads for the lamp post or walls. Great video all the same sir :)

      Get her to stand behind the car. It will give her more of an incentive not to misjudge the distance between the car and wall 😉

    There’s actually a gromit in the boot floor (fiesta) just where you’ve pulled the carpet back exactly for this reason 👍

    I'll be truthful Ted, i really need a neighbour like you! I'm considering buying similar set but no visual aid, just the audio,for my 2003 Honda Civic but my mechanic ignored my text asking if he could fit them, I'd love them but struggling to find an trustworthy person who'd be experienced and confident to fit them. Watching you do it so calmly is encouraging but I'm no good with the electrical side. I'll probably just keep sticking me head out or asking a complete stranger to bang on the rear window when I'm very close! Great vid mate!

      Soldering is just fiddly. Try practicing with some old wires and you will soon get the hang of it.

    If you need parking sensors on a Yaris or fiesta you need to hand in your licence, I’ve an old quashqai for almost 4 years and the parking sensors stopped working after fortnight after purchase so I’ve used my built in parking sensors since, my brain and eyes they never failed me yet.

    So hows it going so far then ?...is the minimum distance enough before the continuous beeping that indicates you are very close ?....how much ia that diatance?

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  Год назад +1

      I'm very happy with these sensors. Both are still working well. The continuous beeping starts when you get within approx 30cm/12 inches. They must be good, my daughter hasn't hit anything since I installed them 😁

    Great video. I wonder if these kits would be suitable for a Renault Traffic van?

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  Год назад +1

      Thanks Simon. Connecting the sensors to the reversing light on a Renault Traffic would be very similar. The only issue I can think of is the length of the wire to the led display. If it's too short there are 3 options a) just rely on the audio alarm b) extend the length of the wire c) there are ( more expensive) kits which have a wireless connection between the audio box and a separate led display which you power from the cigarette lighter.

      Alright that’s perfect thanks a lot, I just had one last question, do you put the parking sensors in a certain order or it doesn’t matter as in I can seem to tell the difference in lettering between any of the sensors
