My technique for running camera cables is to use the rca to speaker lead adapters available from most car audio wire suppliers. Run 2 runs of speaker lead through the grommets using a metal coat hanger or long zip tie as a fish tool. Your local home supply store should have some hard plastic tubing used for refrigerator water supply. That makes a nice fishing tool if you do this professionally.
I haven’t broken anything on a car in a decade and I managed to break every single retaining clip on that rear lift gate trim. Thank god for super glue, I guess.
hi there great video ive just received the camera and head unit you linked in your other video, i received no instructions with my kit, but i noiticed you mention connecting the camera to the brake lights i wondered if it should be the revers light. any help appreciated thanks
Yes it’s reverse light wires . I have highlighted which ones they are . This is so the camera is only powered when in reverse. You can confirm also with multimeter and some putting car is revrse and taking out . But colours should be same. Sorry I must have made mistake when talking . But it’s the reverse ones I have highlighted not brake
Just yesterday I did this. Took the misses and and I 7 hours. Looks fully OEM and didn't need to cut anything. Its not an easy install. Oh if you use the right hand side of the hatch. It doesn't have the original wiring loom.
Nice video. Going to do this on my boys fiesta. You mentioned and point to the brake light a few times. Do u need to connect it there somehow and not just to reverse cam?
It’s in the video . You need to connect the power for reverse light to reverse bulb on car . This is so it’s only powered when car is is reverse and not all the time
Great video, lots of good tips and ideas. I was thinking of adding the same camera to my car, now that you've had it installed for over year, would you still recommend that camera? Has the camera or trunk release any problems? Thanks
Hi mate, how much would you charge to install the stereo, new radio antenna and reverse camera. I’ve ordered them all after watching your videos. Im confident installing radio however with the camera and antenna prefer someone more competent to attempt this. Let me know price and we can sort something ?
@@LiamTulip sorry mate I don’t really do installs . Just take your time and do . I have done the video to make easier for you and as you can see in video it’s my first time and I’m documenting . Now you have video should be easier
Can’t you just use the AV cable with the 12V to connect the camera? The radio knows when it’s in reverse through the CAN bus adapter and then provides the 12V to the camera, right?
@@Sevve1992 yes but then your camera will be powered constantly even when not in reverse. Still an option if you want to do . Being a Chinese camera and cheap probably not a great idea though .
Thanks. I have done as you did. The image is being displayed automatically when in reverse but the image is broken into 3. Do you know if I need to change any settings? I have same headunit
Ok so I have the Upgraded screen that came from the factory, how would I make that work? I don’t have the st however, I have the se. And I bought a camera very similar to yours but it goes in the licensee plate light instead.
i used a multimeter to check all the connections and that i have power on the 12V line when i put my car in reverse and everything checks out. I REALLY DONT KNOW WHYT ITS NOT WORTKING :(
Depends on the units video input . There’s different types AHD Cvbs . You might want to check you android head unit setting to match the input video signal
@@ishanperusinghe It helped me but your video could've been better, anyways i'll tell you how i did it, the first thing i did is cut the Rca cable, then i pierced the backplate sealant and passed to cable through nice and clean, then i used a 2.5mm electirical cable to pass the cables from the top and then passed it through the roof sealant using a tube (because the cables are too soft)😅, and it took me almost 7 hours to do that
Very nice.
Straight to the point, solid camera work i.e. everything that needed to be clear WAS actually clear.
Keep up the good work!
👍
Followed this today with a successful install. It would have been a real challenge without this guide. Thans very much

Yep not easy at all . Hope the video helped

My mate Sold the car after 6 months of this video . No issue with release . Camera flickered on some cold days
keep it up very clear and informative
great video
if the stereo has a can bus do u need to connect to the reverse light like in the video
Yeah you should as you need negative still even if the car can turn on camera from stereo and switch stereo to video feed .
You backwards leave the yellow and red intact, and feed the wires up the trim them do the connection at the top
Tried that . Was still difficult to do because of plugs

Yeah it’s good . The main feature for me is dsp and carplay really
Does the reverse sensor beeping working like the original head unit that came with the car?
Yes oem parking radar should work . But that’s to do with headunit . You commenting on reverse camera install
Nice video but somehow mine is still showing no signal.
I have same headunit mate. So I just need to connect the yellow video cable from camera to headunit and ignore the other wires?
You also needs to wire power to camera from brake light as in video

@@mike7444 try change setting to pal / ntsc or ahd and see if it fixes. Sound like freq or camera and expected on headunit is different
How did you manage to connect the wiring from the head unit back to the camera? ✌️
It’s plug and play

Wiring for all these Chinese reverse cameras are the same . Just follow video wiring

Which cable you taking about ? Unit I purchased in description
You get 6 meters I think . Regardless it’s a bit Short so possibly need to extended like I did
