You’ll need the Philips Hue Bridge to get full functionality out of these lights. I always mention it when talking about Philips hue products but in this video it totally slipped my mind. Without the bridge you won’t be able to change colors or use other features etc.
Haha perfect we just talked about this!
@@kevinwilson3686 Haha yeah, I actually thought that why not put it here so people in the future can see it as well 😊.
That suck 😕
So basically if you don’t have the hue bridge all you’re buying are some very expensive lights that don’t change colour ?. Philips really should make it clearer exactly what you need
@Jay Bro - The bridge is just needed when you buy your first hue product…after that you’ll be able to connect up to 50 devices. For example I got mine over two years ago and now I have 38 different devices so it’s really not as bad as it seems. Just seems pricey when buying your first hue product.
I just bought these for my new PC setup and I’m excited to seem them in action. Great video!
@Jarrod Hernandez - That’s awesome you’re going to love them. They are great and get very bright as well 😊. Thanks for the feedback and for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
thanks for the review! this is what I was looking for.
@dmxbg - You’re welcome ☺️. I’m glad the video helped and thank you for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
great review of the lightbar and uses. love it and I will seriously consider buying this. thanks!
1k 1ngst0n - Thank you for the feedback! These are an awesome pair of light bars…mine have been working since day 1 without any issue. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
A good, solid review, showed how it's constructed, provided pointers. Well done.
@Mark Smith - Thank you I’m really glad you found the video helpful! I appreciate the feedback and you watching 🙏🏽😊.
Thank you again qasim for a very informative and best review. You explained it very well. Keep it up! ❤️

Thank you for this awesome review and explanation!
@abe din - You’re welcome I’m glad you found the helpful and thank you so much for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Great review, I love your style of reviewing. I am purchasing my first hue lightbars and sync box now! Subscribed
@NB B - Thank you very much for the feedback! I love hue products and I’m pretty sure that as you use the light bars you’re only going to want more hue products. The sync box only enhances that experience and is really enjoyable. Thanks for the sub and for watching the video I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Nice review. Thanks, I'm in the process of updating my man cave and this helps.
@Tingo - Thank you I’m glad the video was helpful! What are you looking to add into the man cave? Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Superb insight, thank you
great video and very informative. Also for some reason very relaxing to watch.
@Juan Vazquez - Thank you so much I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. Haha it’s probably the ambient light relaxing ya 😊. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊!
Outstanding review and instructions, than you!

*I like the old style Echo Dot because it's small also **Newest.Technology**, gives out decent sound and doesn't take up a lot of shelf space if you want to put it on beam in the workshop or shed.*
I love the light bars and the other hue products I have. They’re solid and I’ve never once had any issue with them.
Super Easy. Thank You!
You’re welcome ☺️
Very great review!
@Lars Huusom - Really appreciate the feedback and no I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Qasim Zafar, another great video. Thank you!

Simracers are loving the synch part of the lights now!
@Kayo Michiels - I’m sure they area as it creates an immersive experience, I’ve used it for gaming but I got a bit distracted since I play shooters and there’s just too much movement. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I finally have my Phillips Hue lights setup finished. My best example is the Dolby Atmos demo. Hello from California.
@David Edwards - That’s awesome! What lights you got in your setup? Oh yeah that demo is a good one for sure! Hi back to ya from Virginia 😊.
Do I need the hue bridge to display my lights. I have the lights and sync box.
@Nate Low - You’ll need the hue bridge to have your lights setup and for them to sync.
@@QasimZafar thank you for the reply. I’m ordering the final piece now lol
@Nate Low - You’re welcome ☺️. The bridge is good for pairing up to 50 hue devices. You’ll be really happy with it, hue products are solid.
I have a Govee H6072 on each side of my display and they are amazing, but I noticed that the area behind the display was dark so I purchased the playbars and solved that problem. My lighting now is totally excellent. I have the Hue 1600 lumen color bulb and Hue table lamp so now my lighting leaves nothing to be desired. Totally excellent, I can hardly wait for night time now.
Wow it’s so beautiful 😍
@Laurice - Yes most definitely is, great light out put, great design and a very solid product for sure 😊
Hi! Thank you for the review. I’m wondering if I buy these bars do I need the sync box & the bridge box to be able to sync the tv & music to the colour?
@Carina - Hi! Thank you for watching I’m glad you found the video helpful. Yes I’m order to sync lights you will need the hue sync box and bridge. However if you’re using them at a desk setup then you can sync for free with the desktop app, which is available for both Mac and Pc. Let me know if you have any other questions 😊.
my dad has been buying Phillips products for years and they LAST. i’m buying 👏🏽
@mars b - They’re solid products I’ve had so many over the years and not one hiccup 😊. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽.
Good stuff with the video. On a side note, could you please let me know which monitor do you use? I'm thinking about upgrading to a monitor setup with my Mac pro 2020 and this monitor seems to fit my checklist.
@Ronit Kamboj - Thank you! The monitor I’m using is this one right here: LG 38WK95C-W 38-Inch Class 21:9 Curved UltraWide WQHD+ Monitor with HDR 10 (2018) www.amazon.com/dp/B079L4WR4T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0JS5D23SMC710HCEJTSG
I never knew how awesome ultra wide monitors were until I got this one. It’s not full 4k but I’m good with that, I use it to game as well and it works well for that as well. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
thanks Nice Job..!
@Dregs - Thank you appreciate you taking the time to watch 🙏🏽😊.
Most welcome!
Squad call 💪🏻
@Blackout Menace - Wooohoo 🥳 you never let the squad down 🙏🏽❤️
I just ordered the 2pc-pack + 1 extension & the bridge. They are really expensive for LED lights but I can understand you get what you pay for - good quality LEDs + robust app support & smart home integration and ecosystem. I bought it primarily for gaming but i can imagine it would also be great for video watching.
@arty boy - Yeah they’re definitely not cheap but like you said you’re getting a quality product that’s going to last you a long time. I’ve now had several of my lights going on three years and just them working so well is enough for me to consider them paid off. Also the warranty is great, I’ve had a couple bulbs go out on me within the period and Philips does an awesome job in sending out replacements fast and free. These will be awesome for gaming and video alike so you’re going to enjoy them. Thanks for watching and your input, I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar I've been using the Hue for the past 3 days and I'm thoroughly impressed, the colors are vibrant and dramatic in both hue (punt intended) and in action. I'm really glad i saw your video review before i confirmed my order for the Corsair LT/LS. I think the important thing is that you're getting a complete ecosystem once you get in the Philip HUE bandwagon as I'm so glad to learn that I can now add other HUE standing/desk etc lamps in other parts of my home and they are compatible with the HUE Bridge i already have. I do notice lags in HUE catching up with what's happening on screen - sometimes even missing out totally - but its only noticeable when I'm looking at the wall more than my monitor screen, and its the exception rather than the norm. I'd like to know your opinion on their portable/wireless models which I'm exploring for my home.
@arty boy - I’m glad you’re enjoying and honestly hue products are something that once you get started it’s hard to stop haha 😂. You’ll see that in the long run it’s going to be worth it even more, that’s when they pay off themeselves. I’ve tried several other led rgb bulbs by different companies and none can impress the way hue does. I think you’re referring to the hue go lamp right? I have two of those on the side tables in my room and I really love them as well. I’d also recommend you look into the hue motion sensor, I’ve got a video on it in my hue playlist. The motion sensor is great for places like the garage. There are tons of customizations you can do with it. I right now own bunch of the bulbs which are setup in different rooms, I’ve got a total of 4 hue play bars, the go lamps in my room, several light strip and also one gradient lightstrip. I also recently bought the new gradient strip which I’ll be doing a video on very soon. I always recommend going one room at a time so that way it’s not a burden to the wallet all at once. That’s exactly what I did and now I’ve got every room covered in the house except for one. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to reach out.
@@QasimZafar You're right that I'm now officially hooked on the Hues lol! I just saw a $20 off promo on the 2-bar lights starter kit so I'm planning to get them to put UNDER my PC desk haha! I also saw the portable Go lights and motion sensors you recommended but you're right that i should concentrate on one room at a time. My PC is in my bedroom (its my main entertainment system where i game and watch videos, so the TV in the living room is really seeing very little usage) that's why I'm focusing on it in fully decking it out with Hues for the ultimate immersion. I saw how you put the lightbars at the bottom of your PC console - at both sides - for ambient lighting and I intend to do the same under my PC desk. However, I do note that the bottom part of the screen is getting less RGB attention compared to the top and left/right sides of the screen.. Is this the case? Because I'm thinking of getting light synching below the monitor and extending it further to the bottom of my PC desk for good measure.
@arty boy - Haha welcome to the dark side 😂. Yeah focus on that gaming and entertainment room, so I have a video on my desk setup which has now been changed but on that setup I had my Mac mini and Xbox one s setup with a bunch of hue lights so maybe check that out for an idea. Also see if there’s any deals in the light strips, that would be better for under the desk since you could attach it to the bottom from one end to the other and get a nice and even ambient glow. Yeah with the computer syncing app sometimes that can happen since it’s not like the hue box because with that the content is passing through the hue box so it’s just a much better experience overall.
I was about to order, but the bridge made me change my mind. I'm gonna go with the cheaper version, because it feels sneaky to add on extras, like cell phones not including wall plugs anymore.
Qasim! Hello! Do you think that there is a big difference between the gradient lights and the regular hue strip lights for the back of the television?
@Q Tube - Yes most definitely there is. First off the previous light strip had a flat design so a lot of the light output is lost behind the TV whereas with the gradient strip it’s designed in a way that the light beams outward. Second I really like the gradient effect for syncing compared to the standard lightstrip. Hope this helps and thank you for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Thanks for the in depth review kind sir ☺️
@Aaron Wolff - You’re welcome Aaron and thank you for watching...now go get some play bars 😂😂 hope you’re doing well!
I’ve bought a Philips hue play light bar plugged it in got white light on but i installed Philips hue app on my iPhone and it doesn’t see my light
Great review! Did you also need a Hue Bridge for it to work?
@Frank W - Thank you got the feedback! Yes the hue bridge is required but once you get one you can use it for up to 50 hue devices so it pays for itself. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Do I need an additional hue bridge to be able to use smartphone and change the colours? Will I be able to download the app and do it without spending extra money? Please answer my question.
@Radek - Yes you’ll need the bridge however do keep in mind that the bridge is good for linking up to 50 philips hue devices. It nay seem expensive with your first pair of lights but I’ve now got 37 devices linked to mine and I’m over two years in. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
can you connect two "phillips hue go" to the 3 slot power supply adaptor of light bar.2 hue go + 1 light bar
@erentil 21 - Yeah for sure, I’ve got the hue go lamps in my room and they work perfectly fine with the adapter as well.
hi can you have 2 philps hue lightstrip working at the same time the 1 that go around the back of tv thank
@kevin - Yes you can
Just bought my hue bars 2 pack but my second one isn't syncing for some reason just one of them but they both light up except one doesn't change colors..
So I have to use the app to turn the lights off and the Philips Hue Bridge if I ever want to change color? I just want some light behind my monitor and probably gonna end up getting a normal desklamp instead that can double as a headphone rest for 1/3 of the price :P
@Laggmonstret - Yeah you can use the app and also turn them on/off via your light switch. You can also set them up for voice control with Alexa or google.
Besides ambient lighting, will this bar add general lighting to a room in the form of white light? I have a room that is not very well lit and looking for some added lighting. Thank you.
@K W - Yeah they can but it really depends how much light you need in the room. If you’re looking for something really right then these won’t do well. For example in my room I use two of the hue go lamps and they’re perfect for me. These I think work better as ambient light bars. Hope this helps and thank you for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar hey thanks for the upload and thanks for answering my question. Definitely helpful info before I make the purchase.
@K W - You’re welcome I do my best to help. Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions for me 😊.
so, i was planning on ordering 4 packs of 2 of these lights and hooking them up around my room to make it colorful, is one philiph hue bridge enough for 8 lights?
@Anthony Turner - One bridge is good for up to 50 hue devices 😊.
this is all fine and dandy. ive just gotten my playbars and bridge, but the app looks nothing like the one you're showing and when it comes time to connect to the bridge, all i get is "something went wrong..."
where can you get another 3m adhesive for this light bar, I want to switch mounts but don't have more tape
@Kevin Wilson - You could try the tape I’ve linked below, you’ll have to alter it a bit by cutting smaller strips but it should be good to get the job done. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
amzn.to/2X0LZJZ
Can you use same lights with two different phones and app?
Just so I'm clear. If I buy this with the intention to sync it only to my iMac and nothing else I don't need the bridge? just the desktop app for mac correct?
@ThatDudeDavid - You’ll still need the bridge but you won’t need to buy the sync box for syncing. The bridge is what brings the hue system together. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar thanks for the reply
@ThatDudeDavid - You’re welcome!
Is there any way to get replacement adhesive? Like what dimension is the adhesive and how can i remove it from the stand?
@unbiasedboat4425 - I also had to remove the adhesive and replace it when I moved my light bars. If you have a small knife just pry one of the edges of the adhesive and you should be able to get it off. I got this roll: amzn.to/3sF8pjo and cut tiny pieces and placed them on the mounting part. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions for me.
@@QasimZafarThank you, I wanted to switch them from my wall to my monitor and the adhesive just doesn’t stick that well anymore.
Im thinking about getting these to light up a display shelf, are they quite bright? i need some lights that can be quite powerful
FsAvix - Yes they are quite bright and have a really nice light spread on them too.
@@QasimZafar awsome, thats all i need to know :D
@@DetailingCars awesome I’m glad I could help and I appreciate you watching the video 🙏🏽😊.
Very good review. Didnt know there was an app just for the pc. Now I am buying.....Thank you!
@Tony Garces - Hey glad you enjoyed…yes the hue sync app for Pc and max is pretty awesome and the best thing is that it’s free 😊. Thanks for the feedback and watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
I want to stand mine horizontal but the cord is in the way of attaching the mount to the screw hole, suggestions?
@Kevin Wilson - You just gotta tuck the cord down and out from the bracket and that should work fine. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Is there any way how to properly use the Play bars without a Bridge. I don't need sync or anything just changing the colors
@Lucas Maier - Unfortunately not however the bridge can connect up to 50 Philips hue devices. I know at first it might seem more expensive but it’s a one time purchase and then you’ll be good for the long run. If you want to avoid the light bars altogether then check out the govee flo pro bars. I’ve done a video on them and I’ll leave the link down below if you’re interested. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
ruclips.net/video/38Jfu5aebQI/видео.html
I have a PC and a large monitor but nothing else from philips hue. Can I just buy the two light bars and connect them directly to my monitor in order to have the ambient light or do I need something else?
@lucada32 - You’ll need to get a Phillips hue bridge and that is all you will need to get up and running. What’s cool is for Pc you can download the sync app for free and you’ll be able to have a pretty sweet desk setup for yourself. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar No problem my friend. And thank you a lot for the answer. Honestly this is the best video I found about this topic and I will link it on my social media because it helped me a lot in my buying decision ( I think I will buy them :D ) I just find it a little bit annoying that you have to get the bridge, in my opinion it should be enough to just use it with the pc application
@@lucada32 Thank you for that I really appreciate you sharing and I’m really happy you found the video helpful. Yeah I agree but the good thing about buying the bridge is that going forward any hue product you buy you’ll be good for up to 50 devices. Thanks again man! Take care and be safe!
@@QasimZafar thanks you too!
I’ve tried others, never had any issues with my Philips Hue bulbs, some are quite old now too. Can’t recommend them highly enough. If you don’t need colour their white bulbs are actually very competitive and the new ones don’t need a hub. If your just starting out, add the hub later for more features and expand ability.
@Steve Page - I couldn’t agree more with you Steve. After my first set of bulbs I’ve been in love with Philips hue. I’ve now got so many of the color bulbs, multiple light strips, play bars, hdmi sync box and even motion sensors. For lights where I don’t need color I use the white ones. So happy with the quality of Philips hue products. What’s even better is their warranty, any issue I’ve ever had has been resolved so easily. Thanks for the input and watching the video I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Is the light is going to fall of if it's on the wall? Is the glue strong enough?
@Sarc Your Boiii - So in my experience with Philips hue products the adhesive can be a hit or miss depending on the surface. For example the plastic back of a monitor is great for adhesion but some surfaces it does have trouble sticking to. I always use a small dabble of gorilla glue before applying it on an uneven surface or a place I know where there might be a chance of it not staying put. Best way to go about this is to set the bracket down and let the adhesive settle for a while, then later mount the light bars. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Hi, I'm considering getting these for my home office. Specifically for lighting myself during video calls. Are they too bright for lighting up a person during video calls? The different colour options are cool but I wouldn't use them. I don't play video games and I don't think my boss would appreciate me lighting myself pink/purple/blue during meeting :) Do you think they are a good option for my intended use?
@scampiec - Hi I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to do that simply because you’d not be using all the functionality the way you should. For lighting yourself try the Elgato key light air, it can easily be placed on your desk and is made for the purpose you need. The link is down below. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar I was just looking at prices for that ring light. I've looked at dozens of ring light this morning but I keep seeing the Elgato recommended. Do you really think it's worth the price (229 euro)? Do know of a slightly cheaper one that is good quality? Thank you.
@scampiec - Thie is the only one I know of personally. The rest of them I’ve seen are more expensive. I’d say give this a try otherwise you can always return it.
My lights will not show up. And I don’t have the packaging or the serial number. What should i do or how to factory reset. Yes I have a hub
Would you recomend this over the Hue go for a pc ambient light?
@Renzo Zelvaggio - Are you planning on setting this up behind the monitor? If so then also check out the flow pro lights bars from govee, they’re cheaper and offer a bunch of the same features. I’ve done a video on those as well 😊. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
If you want to stick with hue then I’d recommend these over the hue go lamps. Those are good if you’re going to be using them as a desk ambient lamp but I really like using these and the govee light bars behind my monitor for ambient light 😊.
the instructions say not to plug a light strip into the power adapter for the play light bars ...how has it been for you since doing this? any issues? are the power requirements different?
@Gerald Patzer - For years now they’ve worked without any issue.
@@QasimZafar wonderful ~ maybe I should try that
Hey do they work with Bluetooth, or do I have to purchase the bridge?
@MoeBamba - You’ll need the bridge for full functionality. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
I purchased 3 light bars for $100 for Black Friday through Costco 😊 I just need to get a Bridge before I start using them.
Does the light sync work on a smart TV as well?
@Zynpar09 - For the light sync you’ll need the hue sync box and have a streaming device like an Apple TV connected through it. Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Do i need to have a Hue Bridge to setup this lights?
@Juan in Oman - Yes you will need the bridge.
@@QasimZafar oh! i though if i am going to buy the Light Bar, connect to the app and power on, that will do
@Juan in Oman - You can use it that way for the standard warm yellow light, but to get all the colors and features you will need the bridge. The bridge is a worthwhile investment simply because one bridge will connect up to 50 devices of Phillips hue.
The hue bars don't show up in search for me ie. This doesn't work. Very upsetting

I just bought the lights and when I open the app it tell me to connect to a bridge do I need the bridge to customize them?
@Shyner - Yes sir you will need the bridge to customize the light controls.
@@QasimZafar Damn alright thanks for the fast response!
@Shyner - Sure thing, I really appreciate you watching and do let me know if you have any other questions for me 😊
He left that important information out of the video. You need an extra $60 for the bridge to make it work.
Does it have physical on off switch or does it work whit Google assistant
@TheAlogoc - Doesn’t have a physical switch but does work with google.
@@QasimZafar does it need anything additional to work whit Google assistant, like Hue bridge?
Hue bridge is required for all hue lights in order to control them. That’s what identifies each light for what it is.
💞
May I ask what Keyboard are you using?
@Mohamed Sahl - It’s the black Magic Keyboard from apple.
Hi! Could you use it without Hue Bridge to change only the color of the LED? Thank you
@Gabriele Platti - You’ll need the bridge for full functionality. The bridge can pair up to 50 hue devices and once you buy one you won’t need another one again. I’m still using mine that I got almost three years ago and I’ve got a total of 38 hue devices so still plenty left. Hope this helps and that’s for watching.
@@QasimZafar thank you. So if I will buy only the two lamp I can only the color of it with the app. Without the Bridge? Thks
@Gabrielle Piatti - You won’t be able to control them with the app if you don’t have the bridge…so grab yourself the two bars and the bridge.
@@QasimZafar thank you so much. Congratulation for the review👍🏼🙏🏼
@Gabriele Piatti - You’re welcome ☺️ and thanks you for watching 🙏🏽.
1st: so how many colors can you change it too without the bridge?
2nd: sound like the bridge is only necessary for syncing example would be light changing with whats going on , on tv/music, am i right?
@Xx Y0UNG M0N3Y - You’ll need the bridge to have it change colors, otherwise it’ll just be able to display a warm and cool white color. The bridge is what connects up to 50 hue devices together. It’s a one time investment but then you’ll be good for the long run. I’ve had mine for two years and I’ve got a total of 38 devices so even now I can still add up to 12 more lights to my setup without any additional bridge. Hope this helps and do let me know if you have any other questions for me! Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar you explained this perfectly
Thanks I’m glad I could help, do let me know if you have any other questions for me 😊.
What functionality do these light bars have without the hue bridge?
@Mike - Hi so without the bridge they’ll only be that warm yellow color when I went to first show their setup. Getting a bridge is worthwhile, you’ll be able to link up to 50 hue to devices to one of them. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@RomanovMaximoff - The hue bridge is basically the brain of these lights. It’s what brings them all together so you can control them, name them etc with the app. You buy it once and it’s good for up to 50 hue devices. I’m still on my first one and I’ve got a total of 38 devices at the moment so it’s gonna last you a long time. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@Romanov Maximoff - Unfortunately for that you would need two different sync boxes because one sync box can only work with one TV and entertainment area at a time.
@RomanovMaximoff - No worries I’m glad I could help. It would really be cool if that was possible though.
don't I need the Philips Hue bridge to get these working via phone/app?
@PAUZAK - You can get them to work without the bridge but you will need to have the bridge in order to unlock features like voice control etc.
Qasim Zafar thought you needed the bridge just to get them to change colour at all?
Daniel Colk - They’ve been updated and as far as I know and as stated on the philips site the bridge is required for smart controls and more features like routines etc. Previous model of the play bars was not like this. I’d still recommend having the bridge because these aren’t cheap and one bridge is good for connecting up to 50 philips hue devices. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@Pauzak @Daniel Colk - So just called philips hue to confirm...without the bridge you won’t be able to adjust the colors, you’ll just be able to get them to light up in the standard warm white. My mistake usually when I connect a philips hue product it asks me to link the bridge but I guess they’ve updated that and it automatically picks up the bridge.
Qasim Zafar cheers my guy 🙌🏻, I've got 2 bars and a bridge arriving Friday, been debating it for a couple of weeks as I'd seen everyone saying you have to spend the extra £40 on the bridge when I just wanted a couple of light bars for a gaming setup, finally just bit the bullet though, hopefully it's worth it :)
Which one is better? Bars or the Gradient strips?
@Taylor Kennedy - If I had to pick only one then it would be the gradient strips because of the fact that they can display multiple colors at one time.
It seems my play bars don’t have the sticker on the cable that has the serial on it… what do I do ?
@debtcollector7565 - Do you see it anywhere else in the product. Maybe they’ve changed things?
Do I need the sync box with them ?
@King Loui Ramos - Only if you’re planning to sync lights. The desktop app is free so if you’re going to be using them at the desk then you can just use that. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Finally got my hue in the mail just not working
Do you need the Phillips hue bridge
@Filip laskovski - Yes you do but what’s great is that one bridge is good to link up to 50 hue devices so it’s definitely worth it. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Will this be better than gradient strip ligjts?
@marco lopez - This is more versatile in the sense that it can have many more placements but I do like the gradient strip for it’s abilit to display multiple colors.
@@QasimZafar are the gradient strip tv lights supoused to match regular tv too just like they do with movies, Netflix etc.., or it only syncs with movies you stream from external source?
@marco lopez- It only works for external sources since the content needs to pass through the box for it to sync.
An old saying goes, " buying cheap always comes out expensive" ,
better to buy once and forget.
Can we call you " Q"? Sounds cool
@Knight OfWind - Totally agree with you on that. I’ve yet to have a single issue with any hue product of mine…absolutely recommend it. Yeah sure actually quite a lot of people call me that as it’s simple. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
I have 6 meters of lifx z strip in my living room and looking to change them because, as you said, until a year or so , sometime they connected, sometimes they didnt. now, they almost never connect through my homekit app. its frustating.
maybe i should change my router too..
i have a couple of philipps hue product and they always connect. theyre perfect.
@versus023 - I’ve tried a bunch of third party products in hopes that they’ll work at the fraction of the cost but that never happens. Hue has been the best in my experience and that’s why I chose them again and again without a doubt.
Got a quick question, why need extra bridge?
@Jack Damon - Hey the bridge is what connects all your Philips hue lights and accessories together so you can control them via the app or voice. A bridge can connect up to 50 Philips hue devices. When you buy your first set of lights it’ll make things seem more expensive but you won’t need one again. I’ve had mine for over two years now and its been working well. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
I just moved and trying to hook lights back up, hub doesn’t find play bars with auto search or serial #
@James Lewis - Did you try resetting the bridge before setting up all the lights? When you moved did you just disconnect the lights without doing anything?
@@QasimZafar Thanks for the response, I got it figured out, hub found them but just named them color light 1and 2, with a different bulb icon, I tried it and was like dang it’s been 2 days lol
@@QasimZafar I just disconnected on the move, but did reset last night
@James Lewis - Ok glad to hear all is well with the lights and sorry I’m out of town that’s why replied a little slower than usual.
Does it allow you to have plain white light?
Yes it does
@@QasimZafar thanks
Look at the manual. It specifically tells you to NOT plug in a lightstrip into that adapter.
that's exactly what I was thinking when he did that
@Laga Mehesa @Gerald Patzer - Yup I know but for me I haven’t had any issues for years now so I’ve left it that way.
@@QasimZafar thanks so much
Why you didn't mention that HUB is needed for this to work in first place?
@Sanic The Hedge - Totally slipped my mind in this one, however I’ve mentioned it always in all my videos. Sorry for that!
do i need bridge before buying these lights?
@Loi Gabrielle - Yes you will need the bridge, thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
You need the hue bridge aswell right?
@xGamerGeek - Yes the hue bridge is required, it’s worth it because then you’ll be able to connect up to 50 hue devices to it...so you’ll be good for a while! Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar yes that is true😊 actually very nice system👍🏻 nice videos, keep it up! Good vibes🙏🏻😁
@xGamerGeek - Yeah I love Philips hue, solid products! Thank you very much really appreciate the feedback 😊...yes all good vibes, that’s the best way to go 🤗. Take care and be safe and let me know if you have any additional questions for me 😊.
@@QasimZafar you can't connect to the app unless you have the bridge?
@Casaxova X - I think you can but you’ll have limited functionality like only the yellow color for the bars, just get the bridge because you’ll need it for all the important functions.
Is it enough 2 bars in 65 inch tv?
@Alfonso ll Bantug - Hey I’d say that for a tv that size go for the lightstrip instead. It’ll be cheaper and you’ll get a better effect out if it. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
hi great video what's name of app so I can sync lights to iMac
Wayne robinson - You can download it here: www.philips-hue.com/en-us/explore-hue/propositions/entertainment/sync-with-pc
Thanks for the feedback and for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar thanks much appreciated
@wayne robinson - You welcome 😊
is it supported M1 mac?
@Ethan Yu - Yes the desktop app works on the m1 Mac...that Mac mini on my desk is an m1 😊. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
This lights bar working without bridge and without sync?
@Ferenx Popovics - No you need a bridge and on the computer the sync app is free but if using with a tv setup you will need hue sync box.
@@QasimZafar but if I just want to use as an ambient light or just simple light bar I don't need any of bridge or sync? I don't want to connect to TV is fine
Yeah then you will be fine, it’s Bluetooth and links up to the hue app so you’ll be able to use it as a ambient light.
@@QasimZafar thanks for your quick response 👍
@Ferenc Popovics - You’re welcome and thank you for watching the video, I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊
Does anyone know if you have to have the "Hue bridge" to use this product?
@Kevin Wilson - Yes you need it, otherwise they won’t be able to display colors along with other features. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
@@QasimZafar thank you so much for such a timely response! Everything was very informative, that was just my only question!
@Kevin Wilson - You’re welcome, I actually messed up because I always mention you need the bridge but in this video it totally slipped my mind. Thanks for the feedback and you’re welcome, do let me know if you have any other questions for me 😊.
@@QasimZafar the video was perfect! Picked the light up from Best Buy today and just didn’t get the bridge. Didn’t even think about needing it, will be picking it up tomorrow!
@Kevin Wilson - Ah man I’m so sorry about that I seriously messed up. Nonetheless they’re awesome lights, you should mount them up in the meantime, or at least just put up the brackets so that adhesive can settle in 😊.
I lost the screws what to do?
@Roope vähäkuopus - That’s really unfortunate but if you go to your local hardware store and take the bar and brackets with you, you’ll be able to hopefully find an alternate screw that works. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Do you need Hue Bridge for this?
@alzea arafat- Yes you’ll need the hue bridge but do keep in mind that the bridge is good for connecting up to 50 devices. It might seem expensive when you purchase your first lights but it’ll pay for itself with time. Hope this helps and thank you for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Thank you so much, great video as always! @@QasimZafar
@alzea arafat - You’re welcome and I appreciate the feedback! 🙏🏽
i did not get the power adapter in my box
