  • I Paid $150 for a BROKEN Nintendo Switch Lite - Let's Fix It! I found this broken Switch Lite on eBay. The left analog stick was broken and the charge port was damaged so it wouldn't charge or turn on so no way to tell if there were other things wrong. I worked on replacing the charge port first which was tricky because I couldn't find anywhere to buy replacement ports. I ended up retrofitting a charge port from a Switch which took a bit of time but did get the Switch Lite charging again. Then I replaced the broken analog stick and the Switch Lite was good to go!

About This Video: Fixing a broken Nintendo Switch Lite I bought on eBay for $150. I replaced the left analog stick and, the harder fix, replaced the damaged charge port. This was harder because I wasn't able to buy the replacement port...I had to modify a Switch port to fit the Switch Lite. But it worked!

Because of the shortages bots are buying switches/switches lite and popular Nintendo games from online stores literally seconds after they got in stock and selling them up to 4 times what they are worth.
      Examples :
      Ring fit adventure
      Regular price > $80
Amazon and ebay sellers > $300
      Switch
      Regular price > $300
Amazon and ebay sellers > $500

Amazon and ebay sellers > $800

Yep. You can find the Lite for 100-120 euros in "like new condition" where i live, so paying 150$ for a broken one seems insane.
I'm constantly looking at listings while searching stuff for my game collection and i've even seen lots of them brand new, sealed at 150-140 euro.
I would never imagine the shortage would drive prices in the US that high.

Not really actually pretty easy. People forget to pre tin the charger port pins and reason I see people end up melting them. I do them without even having to use much flux and never melted one, or bad connection. Lifted a ground pin on one, but that switch was water damaged and pins were corroded and even then repaired it.

Today I tried to be like you but I failed, I tried to fix my ps4 controller after disassembling the whole thing but I think my analog sticks got messed up. I have other controllers that have the same problem but idk what to do now. I can’t buy another controller because I have so many but I just don’t know how to fix them, and also there isn’t no local place nearby where i could get them fixed. Sometimes they even charge way to much for it, more than the controller cost itself. You probably won’t read this comment anyways but hopefully you will 😞

    a) if you sell the stuff you are repairing, where and how do you usually go about it? Because whenever I see your videos I ask myself if there's a chance to actually buy the product from you.
    b) what parameters do I usually have to keep in mind when it comes to the pricing of a second hand, repaired device? No matter what kind of device it is? What factors do play a role there?

What reflow station and soldering iron do you use with the fine tip? I looked at the link in the description and didn't see anything that resembled a heat gun or reflow station in your Amazon account. I tried board repair in the past with an Aoyue reflow station that also had a soldering iron attachment and I could never get the temperature to stay consistent and I would damage boards and components.

Same switch color and all. I'll be easy on my charge port. I won't use it while charging cuz it seems to put extra strain and unnecessary tension on the port. Thanks sir.
