If you are still reading, we hope you have a good day
This is brilliant keep up the good work! You have inspired me to become a triathlete!
That’s awesome! Love hearing stuff like that 🙂
Awesome stuff guys, I've been following Matt for a while, he put 13 minutes into me on a 70.3 bike split the other week, but my excuse is that he was in a relay team :D
Oh yeah that’s definitely going to make a big difference- he was super fresh.
Hope you had a good race 🙂
Keep meaning to get myself booked in for one of these!
Nice video! Nice to see some good tips. Keep up the great content!
Thank you
Those gold rim glasses......hellish
Haha love them
Great Vid chaps 👍. I’m getting my bike fit next week ( not @ Matt’s ). I wanted to try and get it done before the Big East Tri this Sunday but they was booked till following Friday! hey ho never mind bike should be all good for Outlaw in July .
Awesome! That’s unfortunate but I’m sure your position will be great for the outlaw- makes such a difference
Enjoy the vids! And the progress!! Good luck!
Good luck on the race Harry! Also, love the sunglasses what are they?
Haha they are from a company called Outclasser I think. Not expensive but I think they look cool 😂
I saw you were telling Botrill about your lower back pain in the position, any chance you can expand on that and his way of solving it ? i struggle a lot with lower back pain at the end of a the bike leg when in the tuck for a few hours!
Great question. The issue I had was my saddle was a little low and also my saddle was slightly tilted up- this out loads of pressure on my lower back.
He tilted the saddle forward which opens up your hips and then moved the saddle up a bit too. Also found that the giant has a really long top tube so we brought the pads back a bit which makes the position a bit more compact and makes sure you aren’t over stretching.
Hope that helps
@@Harry-Palmer ahh cool, i also have the giant trinity, lush bike but it lacks the ability to angle the saddle doesnt it. I have heard some have wedges to saddle rails with an angle built in but havent tried it myself. What size frame do you run to ? I myself use an XS being around 176cm just because they are so long
Cookie monster oh no way? Yeah super fast bike but some things need to be re-designed I think just to make it that much better. I ride a M sized frame but the issue is I’ve got quite long legs and not a very long torso. So, that’s the reason my pads need to come back just because the bars feel miles away 😂
Cool video guys!
Thanks Tim
Brilliant video as always. Has the bike fit help out with the back issues? I'm having lower back issues also.
It has yes. Matt says it does take 6 weeks for your body to get fully used to the position so I’m still in that stage- but has definitely helped
Hi Harry,I am a young triathlete also working hard to become a professional,so I did like to know what changed the most after you achived the pro license?Did more branded sponsor come to find you and where exactly your income came from?I know you're working part-time too but triathlon spending is huge,so how do you maintain your life with the starting of becoming a pro triathlete?
That’s a very good question! The answer is it’s hard as hell unfortunately. It’s not easy completing all the training and trying to fund yourself at the same time. I am a triathlon coach which brings in a bit of an income but not much at all so it is a real struggle. There isn’t really a recipe for success apart from hard work and grinding it out until you get there. You just have to do what you can and manage time effectively.
Hope that helps
But gets a DNF on the bike in Sankt Pölten? Seriously need that explanatory video ASAP.
If you check out our Instagram there is an explanation on there. Nothing to do with the bike fit
Hey Harry, it looks like since this fit you've changed a number of things including your shoes. Do you still use the custom molded inserts? Currently considering my options around new shoes and inserts so I'm keen to hear your thoughts!
Hey Jason. Yeah since this fit I have changed a lot. I have however kept the inserts in the shoes as it offers a lot more support and comfort. Shoes are very personal but what I would say is if you have a high arch then definitely consider some sort of insert to give you that extra surface area and support. Hope this helps
@@Harry-Palmer Awesome cheers Harry
what was the difference between this fitting and your recent one ? what are the major changes and what would you recommend looking for in a bike fit ?
Hey Andrew! The one I most recently had was mega! Matt is great but if I’m honest I wouldn’t recommend. Instead I recommend Callum Hughes- he’s the chap I use now. Search VeloClinic, that’s his company
that list of changes your rattled off had me reaching for my wallet it hurt so much. any sponsors helping you out with your gear?
Yes it was very expensive. No I don’t have any financial sponsors unfortunately- always on the look out
Yo you alright chris #I KNOW HIM
Hi Nathaniel
hes hasn’t held the competitions record on the 10 for over 2 years.... the 25 for over two years and the 50 for over 18 months, Marcin Bialoblocki smashed them...
I believe he still holds them as a British cyclist. I remember reading about it somewhere
The vid was interesting till the Suzy in the back showed up
