Loved watching this show in both the 80's and 90's ! Love Erica and Dixie and Brook's characters (can't forget Adam and Stewart as well plus Trevor and Jack).
I loved it too. I watched it since I was a kid. Then in the 90s I lived where I worked so I went home for lunch and watched. Eventually I bought a house and had a child and there was no time to watch it. But what amazes me is that even though I know some of these characters, I can’t remember why Janet is from another planet. The whole Gloria thing, I have no memory of whatsoever. I remember Adam but they haven’t shown him. And I know the ones who went on the be stars like Kelly Rippa and the actress who became Buffy the vampire that my daughter liked. @@KingKull1971 I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE Brooke and Adam. They are perfect together (the actors and the characters). And after rewatching their scenes together, they are end-game for me. SMG's Kendall was easily the better version of the character. The new version that showed up years later and played the role the rest of the show's run was just so different and couldn't match up to Erica at all.
Yes, the Charlie during this time was played by Christopher Lawford. His real-life dad was actor Peter Lawford, who married Patricia Kennedy, a sister of John F. Kennedy. Peter Lawford was also a member of Sinatra's famed Rat Pack.
This was so amazing and all without C.G.I., as much as I like the things that computer animation can do, sometimes good acting just can't be surpassed! Robin Mattson has me in tears, begging Kendal for the chance to be a real mother to Amanda! I remember Soap Opera Digest said that Adam's kidnapping himself was a "wacky" plot, but this was some of the best times this show ever had!
Adam shows up at Brooke's office afterwards to confront her about exposing his faked kidnapping... ADAM: "The Ex-wife's revenge!" [Brooke scoffs.] "You never really forgave me for sleeping with Dixie when we were married, did you? And you've been out to get me ever since!" BROOKE: [Disgustedly] "Oh, Adam! I wasn't out to get anybody! I stumbled onto the truth! What was I supposed to do? Let Alec take the rap for one of _your_ schemes? Let you steamroll over yet another of your unsuspecting wives? Gloria deserves better!" [later in the confrontation] ADAM: "If Tad hadn't dumped you for Dixie! If you were still at home, in bed, with your Edmund Grey! Punishing me ain't gonna cure what ails you lady, you need a man... Better get one with a weak mind and a good strong b-" [and Brooke bitch slaps him, backhand style!] "OOP!" Funny that they (eventually) put them back together after such a _knock-down/drag-out_... Buried somewhere in my VHS tapes I think (or maybe I'm hoping) there's another scene between the two of them where they are at the resolution of a misunderstanding (mostly Adam jumping to a false conclusion) and Brooke is incredulous... BROOKE: "Why do we have to have these confrontations?!" ADAM: "A relationship without _confrontations_? What do you want from me? When will you be happy? When you've had me stuffed?!" [This leads to yet another break up] ADAM: "I would've given you the moon, lady!" BROOKE: "But you never, _even once_, asked me if that was what *_I_* wanted..." *Fantastic stuff.*
