13 years later and I find out that the reason Dixie was pancaked to death was because Cady simply asked for a scene to be written where they T&D explain to the boys Tad's role in Madden's death. In other words, be a responsible adult / parent. This was the writer's way of putting her (Cady) in her place. Don't question authority. I am more pissed off today than I was then. Pathetic. T&D fans deserved better but as usual we got screwed and Cady was fired.
The pancakes. That time. Tad and Dixie didn't reunite, they didn't find their daughter. All Tad & Dixie fans ever wanted was for Tad & Dixie to have a baby of their own. We got cheated out of that . . . and what was worse, they gave their daughter to Julia and then they had Krystal have Tad's baby instead. It was horrible. No pay off at all.
@inoteddiexd7340 I was very grateful for that. I watched when she came back alive. It was the least they could do after what they did to this beloved couple and their fans.
Even though it was different altogether but a small fact that there was a poisonous storyline on General Hospital back in 2001 where the character Lucas Jones drank something that contained a deadly poison that almost killed him committed by Lucky Spencer who was played by the same actor two years before he played Jr Chandler from 2003 at the time.
2 thing, first the fact that Jacob young never won an Emmy as jr chandler was a crime second cady McClain deserved so much better than this , The fans of tad and Dixie deserved better.
@brinpol Yes, especially since Babe was miscast later in 2007 and then killed off the following year. By 2007, AMC's writers had ruined the character of Dixie and had completely botched her 2005 return from the dead, but it was especially frustrating that she died after eating killer pancakes that were meant for a character as annoying as Babe.
i hate how they killed her off, but she played it sooooo well! i was wondering if anyone had the full episode because i wanted to see what Dixie and Tad talked about before she ate the pancakes but i cant find it!!!!
@PopCulture20 The sad part was that AMC's writers killed off a longtime character in such a pointless and insulting way and, in doing so, simultaneously flushed an important part of its history down the toilet. What a waste.
Yes, I heard. Hopefully, Dixie won't come back as a ghost. Since Tad speculated in the 40th anniversary show that she could still be out there, maybe there's a chance she might return alive this time. If Jesse Hubbard can be resurrected after being dead for 20 years, then so can Dixie. Even if Cady McClain only ends up staying for a short time, hopefully AMC will find a way to correct the dreadful mistake it made three years ago.
I remember this terrible storyline like it was yesterday. Dixie is back and she and Tad are on their way back to each other then the writers pull THIS stunt? Then even more years of Tad being paired with ladies who had no chemistry with him like Krystal and FakeLiza.
I am not sure how they knew her heart rhythm-BP or anything since she was not hooked up to anything…plus we usually shock pulse less V Tach…I guess the have better ACLS in Pine Valley…😳😳😳
Well more back then n even today they do that by actually doing vitals the machine is just there now more tech so works but no u can do pulse resperaritions by look and examine them yourself
@PopCulture20 Yes I do. I think the last good anniversary show was actually an entire week in Jan. 1995 when AMC celebrated its 25th. There were lots of flashbacks, and several past characters came for a visit. That would be a good way to end both shows, but like you, I have my doubts.
I was so pissed I mean it had barely been 2 years since she'd been back and they pull her away from them for real I was like AMC I totally hate you right now especially cause she most of 2005 and maybe beginning of 06 was hiding out and nobody except for a few people knew she was alive until after the explosion at Erica's party and thanks crazy Janet for making that happen btw ugh!!!!
I wish I can see a little before this scene. I saw a clip set to music with her in this exact same outfit sitting talking to Tad. I have not watched amc in a long time. Dixie and Tad were always my favorite couple. I just wanted to know were they trying to reconcile at this point.
@bellasong75 iTA!! i too have been looking for the scenes of them together b4..u know...it used to b up on RUclips..but i havent seen it in a while.. and yes they had already reconciled and were on the verge of getting back together..
AMC's decision to kill off Dixie with poisoned pancakes was the worst mistake the show has ever made, bar none. This ending was so utterly implausible and ridiculous and so was the serial killer story that led to it. (It seems like every story involving the crazy Cambias clan has been a clunker.) Death by poisoned pancakes would have worked on a show like the '70s "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman," but not on AMC. Ultimately, AMC's writers totally botched Dixie's 2005 return, from start to finish.
@PopCulture20 AMC has been going downhill for a long time, so it wasn't too surprising when the announcement came today that the show will go off the air in Sept. 2011. Over the past 10 years (at least), there were too many bad storylines and too many failed attempts to recapture the past. Hopefully, AMC creator Agnes Nixon and head writer Lorraine Broderick will give viewers a fitting ending for this once-great soap.
@brinpol AMC's 2007 serial killer story stunk. Who would ever have guessed (and who really cared) that the killer was someone who was believed to be dead? But Loving's 1995 Corinth Killer story turned out to be pretty good, thanks in part to Christine Tudor's performances as Gwyneth Alden. She should have won an Emmy.
The Actress who.played her in.real.life has Passed away..She Was Tad's True Love.. He became a one woman Man finally at last..Tad was basicly got with a a bunch of Women..Married a few..then he met her..Condolences to her Family..RIP.
so heartbreaking JR got out of his chair to rush to his mother's side
It was so sad

I never heard of that!!! WOW! :0
@@sonyab1974 Cady said it herself. I'm not making it up.
@@daboys1215 Oh I wasn't thinking you were making it up. I just didn't hear that before. How awful. That pancake death thing was stupid and awful.
@@sonyab1974 Dumbest death ever. Not only did 2006 suck but her death made the whole year pointless.
The eventually brought Dixie back to life, but by the time they did no one really cared anymore. The damage was done and AMC lost their fans.
What’s weird is that it was NOT the Satin Slayer that did this - we never found out who did it, though Tad did. Bizarre story line.
All My Children was dead to me after they killed off Dixie. I felt so betrayed.
LuvTadnDixie and I cried like a baby
@jasonROXcarlySUX Kiki And by the end of the show's run she is alive!!! Hahahaha!
@@sonyab1974 I was glad they fixed this mistake at the end. I agreed along with everyone else that this was stupid.

This was the begining of the end of AMC! I think David or Zach have her hdden somewhere.

He's not pushing down hard enough
this was so long ago I forget who poisoned the pancakes lol but seriously why bring her back just to kill her off??
Sara Kennedy the stupid satin slayer did. To even attempt to kill off a legacy character with PANCAKES was ridiculous
Who was the killer because it wasn't the satin slayer

When did the show go downhill
When Megan mctavish was head 1995 she was fire that was the end of AMC

I’m still saying this today! That Tudor was totally overlooked and ridiculous that she didn’t even get a nomination
Everything soaps did was better lol
what did the gardenias have to do with this??
They were used by Alexander Cambias to torture Zach by placing them on the dead women's bodies. Satin Slayer storyline.
N
@raes519 don't worry she's didn't really died
They just recreated the scene
I wish they hadn't killed her off :(
What was wrong with her here?
i didnt watch this long ago so i was wondering why jr is in a wheelchair
