Alicia Minshew was the Kendall I knew when I started watching AMC but seeing scenes of Sarah's version makes me like her a little more than Alicia's verssion but they both brought great things to Kendall. Susan Lucci REALLY should have won for this AND the drug addiction story line! This whole thing, with Kendall and Richard Fields was INTENSE stuff! Erica having to describe how she'd been savaged by bite marks... The part where Livia leans in to point out the places where Erica said she'd been injured in the attack, and Livia uses one hand to hold her braids back... Fields, Bianca and Kendall(!) The attention to detail, in this story, made it EPIC!

I used to think Kendall was the epitome of evil. I think that was Sarah Michelle Gellar's highest peak. Clocktower 3 PS2 / She reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor in this scene. / Dimitri reminded me of Duncan MacLeod from the Highlander series.

Soaps were great back then, because they weren't afraid to tackle true to life, gritty plots. Nowadays they are so afraid of any real social commentary and stick to outlandish baby switches and doppelganger storylines. Viewers are partially to blame, because people complain when things get too "real".
I remember when this aired, I was 17, and the Bianca/Richard scenes were so chilling. But when he was having his heart attack, while Mona was throwing all kinds of SHADE, I was LMAO!

I was never enamored with Susan Lucci as Erica Kane, to be honest, but in 1994 I started watching the show again, I have to say - she was wonderful that year in the role. It made me have a new outlook on her acting abilities and the role itself. I loved this story line in 1994. It was a shame that this was the one year she wasn't nominated for the Emmy. Strange.

SMG was fantastic in this! I remember Michael Knight (Tad) saying on ET back in 2011 that he was amazed that Sarah had such balls as an actress at such a tender age! Something about that name Sarah and 90s ABC Soaps. Sarah Brown was also another new, young actress that took her show by storm in a similar role of Carly on GH. It was because of Sarah Gellar's and Sarah Brown's respective performances in originating their roles that made ABC feel these roles were vital to the canvas and needed to be recast. If lesser actresses performed these roles when they first began, once written out, the characters would've been forgotten. Bobby Martin, anyone?

She was very good considering she played two characters. But not like this episode of Kendall. This also is one of Susan Lucci's finest. The fix was on for her with the Emmys.

Quite a pit of soaps were dropped by NBC, ABC, and CBS for stupid talk shows in those slots. Lot of those talk shows were canceled too. It's a shame how many soaps cast members and crews lost jobs so their could be talk shows. Ugh.

Dear God, Kendall was so hysterical and needy for her Mother's acceptance, she didn't care how she got it, never once for a long time did she think about the horror Erica went through. Some families have a member who are so wrapped up in what they think happened to them, they don't want to accept what really happened to them.
This is riveting soap, they don't make soaps like this anymore, story so well written. So many great actresses. I wish they had soaps like this today. I cried, I was outraged, and I am still shocked, I was so happy that freak got what he deserved.

On UK Soaps, the villians are so convincing some quit because the fans are so mean, and nasty to them. Annette Badland who played Aunt Babe on Eastenders left, she did Bad Girls, and is an inspector on Midsummer Murders.
She tormented Bianca long before this. She was a bitch who treated Erica like garbage because she (a fourteen year old girl) didn't keep her instead of giving her to kind parents.
My adopted brother had a hard time dealing with being adopted he wanted to find his mom and confront her about it. He had a lot of anger. He was pain in the ass throwing it in my moms face that he was her adopted son. He didn't look like us so he would say "leave your black/Hispanic adopted son alone" Not all adopted kids feel the same but it effects them.

Rubella has left him half blind and half deaf and it effects the temperament part of the brain, most die really young, he's 45 but he's not as angry but he carries anger around with him still and always will I imagine, not because he's adopted but that is just how he is, he would still be the same even with his birth mother I'd wager. He still uses adoption as a reason our mom favors the oldest, which she doesn't, but he's always clashed with the eldest. He's a stressful person.

Mona supposedly murdered a sleazy modeling agent who tried to rape Erica in the 70's. I wish someone had footage of that. She alluded to that murder during this storyline in a scene with her and Richard Fields in the courthouse. Mona was NO PUNK. Don't forget...she also took Charles Tyler from Phoebe. So Mona wasn't ever THAT innocent - LOL!
I like this side of Mona. She was always such a goodie goodie in the eighties when I watched the show. She reminds me of Betty White when she's making her farewell speech to the creature.

funny how here, erica says she told her father the next morning but after Kendall told erica she was her daughter, when erica went to her at the pine cone, erica told Kendall she never told her father what happened.
Actually, I was watching an older episode the other day, and Erica told Dimitri that one of the memories that she had recovered was that she told her father, but that Eric didn’t believe her, and told her that if it had happened, then she had asked for it.
Fra Heflin should have won an Emmy for this performance. Mona tried so hard to do right by Erica when she was growing up, she never would have allowed Erica to go to Hollywood to spend time wtih her Father. By Today's Standards Eric Kane would be a D List Celebrity.

For a minute I thought you were talking about Zack Grayson villian extraordinaire played by the late Robert Lupone. Also Kendall realized how her lies all but ruined so many folks. Erica almost going to prison, and Dimitri almost be classified as a rapist. She lied, and so many women were raped and fortunately got justice after so many years.
Sarah is an uderrated actress for real. For me she should've been recognized for more than Buffy, that i deeply love, but people needed to consider her for many other movies. And she was 17 here.. i mean.

While Susan isn't one of my favorite daytime stars, I must admit in scenes like this, she is captivating. She really shows great restraint here which she needed more of over the years instead of her opera diva like emoting.

Gellar is amazing for so young. She owns her craft. Despite the drama on & off screen with her and Lucci, SMG is a ⭐ a great but underrated actress.

Quite a pit of soaps were dropped by NBC, ABC, and CBS for stupid talk shows in those slots. Lot of those talk shows were canceled too. It's a shame how many soaps cast members and crews lost jobs so their could be talk shows. Ugh.

Dear God, Kendall was so hysterical and needy for her Mother's acceptance, she didn't care how she got it, never once for a long time did she think about the horror Erica went through. Some families have a member who are so wrapped up in what they think happened to them, they don't want to accept what really happened to them.

This is riveting soap, they don't make soaps like this anymore, story so well written. So many great actresses. I wish they had soaps like this today. I cried, I was outraged, and I am still shocked, I was so happy that freak got what he deserved.

Here's some proof that Sarah Michelle Gellar is an underappreciated actress. She made some wrong career choices post-Buffy yes, but still underrated.
I wish they would have brought back Eric after this so Erica could have called him out on what Richard Fields did to her. I enjoyed watching Mona and Demitri standing over Fields during his heart attack.
Sadly, Erica was still in denial about Eric’s part and I’m not sure even Mona knew his part in it.

On UK Soaps, the villians are so convincing some quit because the fans are so mean, and nasty to them. Annette Badland who played Aunt Babe on Eastenders left, she did Bad Girls, and is an inspector on Midsummer Murders.
She needed to see it for herself. Glad she saved Bianca.
She tormented Bianca long before this. She was a bitch who treated Erica like garbage because she (a fourteen year old girl) didn't keep her instead of giving her to kind parents.
My adopted brother had a hard time dealing with being adopted he wanted to find his mom and confront her about it. He had a lot of anger. He was pain in the ass throwing it in my moms face that he was her adopted son. He didn't look like us so he would say "leave your black/Hispanic adopted son alone" Not all adopted kids feel the same but it effects them.

@@LBF522Sort of. His birth mother caught the measles during her pregnancy and drank. He was born with fetal alcohol syndrome and rubella. Rubella has left him half blind and half deaf and it effects the temperament part of the brain, most die really young, he's 45 but he's not as angry but he carries anger around with him still and always will I imagine, not because he's adopted but that is just how he is, he would still be the same even with his birth mother I'd wager. He still uses adoption as a reason our mom favors the oldest, which she doesn't, but he's always clashed with the eldest. He's a stressful person.

Mona supposedly murdered a sleazy modeling agent who tried to rape Erica in the 70's. I wish someone had footage of that. She alluded to that murder during this storyline in a scene with her and Richard Fields in the courthouse. Mona was NO PUNK. Don't forget...she also took Charles Tyler from Phoebe. So Mona wasn't ever THAT innocent - LOL!

funny how here, erica says she told her father the next morning but after Kendall told erica she was her daughter, when erica went to her at the pine cone, erica told Kendall she never told her father what happened.

Actually, I was watching an older episode the other day, and Erica told Dimitri that one of the memories that she had recovered was that she told her father, but that Eric didn’t believe her, and told her that if it had happened, then she had asked for it.

Erica almost going to prison, and Dimitri almost be classified as a rapist. She lied, and so many women were raped and fortunately got justice after so many years.

While Susan isn't one of my favorite daytime stars, I must admit in scenes like this, she is captivating. She really shows great restraint here which she needed more of over the years instead of her opera diva like emoting.
