Wow, such a walk down memory lane. I remember most of these actors. In the 80's I was in college in the KY and scheduled my classes around my beloved upbringing of AMC and GH. I had watched them for years. Later, I moved to NYC from a small town in the midwest to transfer to fashion college. I had gotten an internship with Bloomingdale's thru my school. I was so excited and felt like I'd MADE IT getting hired there. The first day I was to show up for my training I was so excited to be working for THE Bloomies in NYC and scared.... I got off the elevator and there was "Brooke" literally a foot in front of me on the pay phone. (yeah we had those back then. lol) I was completely star struck. And such a shock for someone who had come to the big city from the midwest! She looked as beautiful in person as she did on AMC. I also saw Joan Collins during that time in NYC in a small art gallery where I had to go do a report for school. I was so star struck and dumbfounded seeing her as I was such a Dynasty fan (like I was for AMC) that I couldn't even move. She saw me staring at her and she literally turned around and smiled so big at me.. like come on, you can do it... but I couldn't and she just kind of smiled and laughed finally after several tries, obviously wanting me to come up to her. LOL I'm kicking myself now but I was so young and naive. No celeb would ever be able to say I'm rude and annoying hounding them for an autograph. haha I was just stuck dead in my tracks.

I grew up, watching all my children with my mom and my grandmother, and my great grandmother, also one life to live as well. It just happened to be that I was sick and I stayed home from school, and my mom, grandma, and grandmother live by the clock, 12 o’clock, all my children, 1 PM, one life to live, and of course 2:00 PM, with General Hospital, But I mostly really truly enjoyed, all my children, and one life to live, and I was devastated, and I was quite pissed off when they canceled both the soap operas, which are great soap operas, they canceled all my children, and one life to live for some worthless, cooking show, called the chew, and they were there another TV show that they Canceled I mean they put in place, but I forget the name of it. I think it was called the revolution or something, needless to say that was garbage, just bull crap, and they cancel our beloved soaps, yeah, to say, I was angry, would be an understatement. 24:10

The only reason all my children went off Hulu because Disney broke their contract when they killed off a character on General Hospital
Leave it to Disney! 😠
As a child I remember my mom watched her soap operas religiously
I am very sad, but this is just time passing.
It would be nice if they would put out and I know there’s a lot of them DVDs or at least upload them digitally where you could go back and watch from day one.
Greatest show ever!😊
Am i wrong or do i keep seeing carol burnette? I used to watch this show with my mom and i was really hooked for years. I had forgotten about some of these characters but it was a genuinely good show. Rip to all.
If I remember correctly, she did appear at least once because she was a HUGE fan!!
@@kendalshomshak8946 oh ok. I thought that was her. Do u happen to know what part she played or was it just different ones?
@@laurawinters3296 She played Verla Grubs the long lost daughter of Langley Wallingford. First in 1983, and a few more episodes in 1995, 2005, and 2011.
AMC was the best soap I started watching when I was still a teen I loved this show I mean we go WAAY back when it was still blk and white. Only 30 min. That and General Hospital back when it was still black and white it was great. I. still remember Lucy, Dr Hardy, Audry, and the rest it was only 15 minutes, it was great😀
That was my favorite soap! So heartbreaking 😢
They didn’t mention actor Philip Amelio who played the original Scot Chandler as a child. Rip Philip
This video must be a continuation. I am sure there was a video on this a few weeks ago.
Jacob Young played Lucky Spencer on General Hospital and he played JR Chandler on All My Children. He is very much still alive to this day in 2024.
I think if it had kept going maybe the actors would be alive today
My God, I never knew so many Amc actors had transitioned. May they rest in peace 🙏🏻
Nice video. You forgot Dack Rambo he played Steve Jacobi in the early 80’s
I thought Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos were bring AMC back... Susan Pucci made note of this several times...still waiting.
I watched All my Children and One life to life and general hospital long bevor I came to the USA. It taught me good english and I loved the shows and the actors.
What a loss to not have soap operas anymore.
When ABC cancelled the soaps, they no longer existed for me.
Have not missed anything since. Especially not the The View
i agree, the company should be trying to amend this , Susan Lucci was hoping for a revive of AMC
The best soap opera
David Canary played both Adam Chandler and his twin Stewart Chandler on AMC!
I love this video
The thumbnails from SWAT and Nurses are not from the original shows, but the remakes of them.
The day ABC cancelled All My Children was the last day I watched any daytime programming on that network and I was a hard core Good Morning America fan. To this day I will watch anything else but ABC.
OMG CLICKBAIT, Jacob Young who played JR is NOT I repeat NOT dead.
Most of them are dead so how is that click bait?
