Dude the Wilderness edition looks so good.
They are definitely mean looking, definitely excited to see how it turns out after all the modifications.
Looks like you were making it just fine on the first obstacle. From someone who’s been driving Subaru’s for the last decade you just have to stay on the throttle and let the X-mode traction control work it out. You’re doing great! 👍🏼
Thanks for the tips!
Anytime 👍🏼
I bought a '24 Subaru Outback Wilderness last month too. Pearl White. Your channel popped up when looking for SOW content. Fun stuff eh? Looking forward to the upgrades...
They are great cars! Never had this much fun in a stock rig! Working on the upgrades now, hopefully those videos will be out soon!
Wrong x mode from the start way too much spin, should've gone with snow/dirt
Definitely will give that a try next time!
@ 6:15 you have to turn off the Park Assist too. Just push the green button on the screen like you did the RAB
Thank you I appreciate it! I should’ve know that 😅
If you put a rear locker on it you can get pretty far
time to get some mudflaps
Also if you’re going up a steep incline put it in manual and lock it in first gear. It keeps the torque converter from trying to lock up and gives you more low end grunt.
You don't air down your tires, do you?
Currently don’t have air on board. But changing that quickly. So not airing down as of now. I’m used to my trailered rigs running 5 psi and not even worrying about airing back up. New to this Street driven offroad rig era.
Yeah, Subarus are not made for Jeep trails, but for general off-roads, camping roads, and National Park roads. I love the niche that Subarus fill.
Did you have traction control turned off? Your free wheels were spinning way too much. Traction control assists with stoping wheel spin on wheels that have no traction so the power goes to wheels that have traction. Essentially mimicking a locking differential. The Outback Wilderness is very good at these obstacles. Something doesn’t add up here.
Traction control was off towards the end which didn’t help. Even when the tires on the ground did get power they lost traction. Just to steep and terrain was to loose. Less of an incline and it would have walked right up it. Cameras do not give obstacles any justice.
Keep the throttle up and give the system time to work. Christ
Plus, you weren't in, "deep snow and mud " you were
in the wrong setting.
Obviously the video does not do justice to that part of the trail. That was its absolute limit without more suspension travel and lack of a locker. There is a reason it’s dug out where a left rear and right front of any open diff vehicle…. And Christ!!! I obviously I tried more then it looks like I just cut a lot out of the video.
@@Hutchgarage You just need to learn how to operate a vehicle off road. My Subaru Forester, without X mode makes it through obstacles like that, with no issue. With torque vectoring you don't need a locker. 99% of trails are passable with a subaru. A very disappointing video due to a lack of knowledge vs what the vehicle is actually capable of.
Gotta say the driving style is too much bash and thrash. The Subaru AWD system requires moderate and constant throttle input so it can work out to appropriately apply braking and redirect power to the wheel(s) that need it.
Okay, prove me wrong bring your forester to this exact spot I’ll even pay your way there. And show me that you have more knowledge than me. You legitimate have no idea what this trail looked like in person, how steep it truly is or how off cambered it was, so how can you be the judge? I’ve been a hard core rock crawler for very many years so I trust my judgement more than a keyboard warrior. Again send me a direct message on instagram and I’ll pay your way to this spot and meet you there. School me.
@@127Foxtrot I do agree my driving style is to completely send it. Even when the wheels that needed the power received it they would not gain traction. Yes I could have aired down and probably made it a bit further but it’s a 42 degree incline that had a 11 degree tilt. Mix that with loose terrain you aren’t going anywhere.
