  • How can increasing diversity in STEM contribute to the development of technologies that will benefit and empower us all? By focusing on the lack of gender diversity in innovation teams, Isabella examines the implications and perils in having non-diverse teams lead the development of technological innovations that will transform our world. As part of her argument for radical change, she brings to light the hidden history of women in coding, and reminds us of their forgotten roles as founders, developers, and innovators. Isabella is a student at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, USA. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. I was expecting an analasys of sexism in ai but it slowly devolved into a rant about how stem fields need women instead of explaining how to fix the system.
