- How does a chatbot become sexist? According to Josie Young’s research, it’s usually incorporated into the chatbot's design and amplified through day-to-day conversations with humans. From only responding to commands from male voices to tolerating abusive language, tech companies are incorporating regressive ideas and unconscious bias into AI. Not only is this a sign of lazy design, says Josie, but attempting to replicate ourselves in AI is stifling innovation and the potential of this technology. An advocate for designing AI products and systems using ethical and feminist principles, Josie argues that we should be using this technology to heal society’s problems, instead of adding to them. With this in mind, she has created a practical tool for teams to use when building a bot, prompting developers to question their own bias and training them to address these issues themselves in the future. Josie Young advocates for designing Artificial Intelligence (AI) products and systems using ethical and feminist principles. In 2017, she developed and tested a design process for building feminist chatbots. In 2018, Josie contributed to a research project with Charisma.AI and King’s College London to identify ways to deal with bias in large word libraries used for Natural Language Processing. Josie works in London at Methods, leading work to understand the most ethical and appropriate ways to deploy AI in the public sector. Its an ai. Why would they care about women or men ? They have no emotion and there for they don't care about your feelings .
Just to add it makes no sense its a bot . its most likely mostly men doing all the work . where instead of doing the work and do an all women team to make there own ai. And when it dosent work you can blame men for that to .

These are AI driven assistants. In time AIs may develop sentience but for now they are genderless machines. Siri and Alexa are given female voices because research shows people respond better to a female voice. I guess the speaker is trying to show what a good activist she is.

Feminism is not like it was for the women and right activists during 50’s through 80’s. It’s not about equality of the sex’s. It’s mostly about man shaming or women who have been rejected or in some way hurt by men and they start attacking men once their opinions are challenged or corrected. I will use the example by the wage gap myth. If you have two people equally trained and able to do the job and have same options most likely they will be getting same pay. I have yet to have job where there is a difference of pay between myself and a female coworker.
In fact I’ve had several jobs where I’ve made less. Then they bring up their less female CEOS of companies well I’ve simple answer what are women doing for roles in our society and what are they taking in post educational schools and are they wanting to take that life direction?
This is a simple question. Take moment. Don’t respond right away. Think, look around at women in your social network are they wanting to do that or are they doing something else.
It is. You just bought into the bull too much about what it means. What equality means, feminism means, has not changed.
The wage gender gap is a real thing statistically, but the most likely interpretation is that men are better at negotiating salaries and more likely to thrive in a competitive environment. Not discriminative bias.
Reality:
Person: Hey, AI, tell me some info about dinosaurs.
AI: You can't give me orders! I'm calling police...
So Ted talks have turned in to infomercials?

Im all for it. Men and women should get their own ai partners. I also believe women should be separated from men.
