Now that you mentioned it. It's possible that the 7th Infantry might become the crew of Highwind and help the party escape Junon in Part 3 (or help the party escape then become the crew). It would follow their logic, thinking Cloud and party are doing some secret mission, which requires 7th's help.
I got a fun theory. Gast started the bald bar. This was the first date with Ifalna lol. The younger bald professor with brains and swagger to rock that shiny head!

The Highwind is possible but I think the Sub is probably the best bet.
