- EGOSOFT introduced a new default behavior for X4: Foundations called Local AutoTrade. It lets your brand new pilots do some trading on their own in a sector. It is limited to a single ware though.

3 weeks in a row! So what are some good sectors to do Local AutoTrading in?
...trading the expensive stuff like in sectors with a shipyard or wharf usually works. Check out the subsector like in hatikvahs choice, you can travel the accelerator and may find a good trade with something as simple as energy cells - costing 10 in one system and 18 in another - easy, steady money and with energy becoming much more needed for production (i.e. scrapping) cycles it's a good idea to establish a supply network. Continuous sales is also good for getting reputation with a faction up fast AND keep it there - friendly fire mishaps become just a nuisance. Like that teladi defense station that I accidentally wiped out - decreased rep by 2 points, back to 30 in no time. Just don't shoot the escape pods 😆
This was sorely needed, I always thought it was excessive having the only auto-trade to require three stars.
I have yet to ever get local trade to work on anything.
Thanks - 2 questions...
1. How do you get all them satellites so neat?
2. I check argon prime and it was selling hull parts for 205 and and the wharf was buying at 275 - set up auto trader on hull parts --- it then came back with "no trade options found that match range" - WHAT? I can see it as plain as day. Satellites were up, and I had scanned the stations to 70%.
Any idea why #2 wasn't working.???
Having the same problem with #2
@@bingusgames same here, do you have a solution by now?
@@1337MK I ended up making a trade loop instead of using auto trader :L
Very helpful video
I tried your exact example. My ship auto purchased a load for 55.14 and sold for 52.18. So I lost 14k on the deal. That's pretty insignificant amount but obviously these auto traders can not be relied upon to make smart decisions on their own in order to actually turn a profit. Worse a small fleet of them could rapidly deplete your wallet.
I am sorry but the first mod i install, is one that removes the stupid star system.
Some kind of trading and mining mod that makes 1 star captain able to do there job!
There is now reason a 1 star captain can not look at a computer screen, look up the stations i have satellites at to show prices and then find a trade to do.
You do NOT need a 3 star captain for that!
It is nice that you can play how you want in X4 :)
The one thing I needed to learn wasn't covered. How do I find the correct trades in a sector? Do I need to look for stations in the same sector that buy AND sell a product? Does this make some sectors useless?
What is the difference between repeat orders and having it sector buy and sell the material and autobuy? Additionally I have set mine to auto buy refined metals and despite the refinery having plenty to sell at a somewhat decent price it refuses to buy it. (buys at 162 and sells at 209) What gives?
hey man nice to see you making videos again, was just wondering what kind of editing software do you use?
I just use Vegas for editing. For capture I use Action!
Is there a way to move wares between two your own stations?
can you use this behavior in conjunction with mimic to create localized trade fleets?
I haven't tried, but I think it should work
Ever since I started playing X4, I never understood why trading ships didn't have an equivalent to Sector AutoMine. This has been missing for way too long.
dunno if you noticed it already, but there is a Local Auto Mine behavior.
how did you get those satellites so aligned lol?
When you make a custom game, you can choose to get satellite coverage for sectors, this is what it looks like if you do :)
Hey it's been a while since I last saw you . How you been
Hey! Just busy with work and such. I only really get to play games on weekends. You?
@@WeritGaming been busy with my master's degree so don't have much free time either. Hope you have a nice day
It's useless. Options for trading single ware in 1 sector ends very fast. It might be useful if will be enabled more then 1 ware.
