- Can your 4af engine become a 4ag?! What does it take? Is front wheel drive cool? Are station wagons hip? We'll cover none of that and more on today's video! Our newest project is a 1989 Toyota corolla (go figure) station wagon! With the stock 4af converted to the coveted 4age cylinder head!
4afc bottom end 4age cyl head. 4ag crank pulley and timing belt 20v stock header and mid pipe. Ignition is a mid 90's Toyota pickup truck coil. Distributor is a 1977 ke31 machined down to fit the 4age distributor drive gear and a custom spacer bushing to fit into cyl head. Cap and rotor are ke31. Custome intake manifold for single Weber carb.
Engine has been reved to 8k under load but usually I shift at 7k max. Cluster is from a ae92 le model for tach cluster.water pump and belt drive all ae92. Alternator upper bracket is from a FB rx7 smog pump bracket. To space out alt to clear the dizzy.
Yea I forgot to tell you. Pat gas 3 times, let it start and warm up before you drive it. All motor mounts are dead! Except the rear one(I replaced it with a new one when I threw the car together). As long as it has oil in it rev it to 7k. I wasn't paying attention one time and took it to 8500 but I don't suggest doing that. 4af bottom end has 200k+ on it but strong all things considered and the AC still works well(I was really proud of making that work! Bending that ac line to clear the 20v header and not break was a challenge!!!) And the gas light works btw so it wasn't completely out of gas!!!!!
The gas light works 😂
@@deathwobble also when you want to switch out that timing belt let me know and I will come give you a hand(since I don't put on inner timing covers on 4ag ish motors and there are no timing marks).... And that timing belt is definitely as old as you. I know that I got it in the late 90's.....
Did you ever do a front crank seal?
@@deathwobble yea back when it was the previous owner and I did a timing belt and water pump I think back in 2013/4....
@@deathwobble remember that it was built for the Mitty. I never planned on it lasting as long as it did and giving me all the smiles per mile.
I love the older toyota wagons they look so dope hopefully I can get my hands on one in the near future. There crazy expensive over on the west coast. Can't wait to see what you do with this one best of luck bro
Shame the prices of used cars these days
Super excited on the new ae92 project! I have a 91 sedan myself that I daily.
Can't wait to get going on it
They can make videos on a daily basis because they are not authentic like yourself, don’t go changing.. my favorite video of you so far is the one in the van read the end of the video you jump that thing 😆 😊
So much work! But hey what else would I be doing with my time
Nice! Can't wait to get the slots on my B310 ! 🤙🔥
Slots 👌
ae92's are so good.
Ver güd
Lol. Your welcome for the flywheel 😂
Go ahead and donate them dcoes too
Pretty cool man first time seeing setup 👌 😎
It's pretty cool. Can't wait to play around with it
Your right about the mirror. I grabbed that and the clock from pull a part for john one day. Also the AEM did work at first then just stopped. John replaced the sensor at least once, not sure if it worked after. The carb is a Chinese weber.
Ahh the best kind of weber 😅
Thanks for that btw! It made me feel less poverty spec
@johnlewis8156 NP. Did we pull the gauge cluster from the same car we got the manual parts from or did it already have a tach?
@@supposedbigfoot1859 there was a LE car in a different area that we got the cluster out of when the lady didn't charge us for half of the swap parts
Hmmm ngl digging the color wat is it
Common color for the land cruiser of the same years
It’s not ugly it’s just undesirable by the car community unfortunately and I did a two wheel burnout in my ae92 sedan
Gotta love a wagon
I want it
What intake manifold and fuel pump on the side there are you using?
intake looks home made. and the fuel pump appears to be knock off holley
Hello Good day, I Would like to ask if the 4age 16v Cylinder head is bolt on to the 4af block? or did you convert anything for it tobe adapted on your 4af block?
Pretty much a bolt on.
@@deathwobble did you use a 4age head gasket or just the stock 4af one? sorry im planning to do this on my ae92 as well since 4age is expensive here
Yayyyyyy
