GT7 Super License S-4 - Gold Standard Step by Step Tutorial Guide - Tokyo Expressway in Supra S4

- Are you looking for those last few tenths to get your Gold time on the GT7 Super Licenses? I remember the struggle to achieve those times when I first played the game and we can all use a little extra help at times. A recent update to the game saw the original Gold standard times revised so it was a good opportunity for me to revisit the License section and I took the opportunity to create a step by step guide to each of the ten events.
Over ten videos I'll show you a Gold standard lap filmed live, and replayed through with commentary and pause the action at important moments so you can see precise braking points, important down shifts to rotate the car and the upshifts to pull you out of corners while maintaining traction.
All of these licenses were completed with no assists, except for the ABS set to weak. I also have the camera set to bonnet cam (although it's actually mounted on the roof. It's not the most realistic, and it's not as fun as in-car, but it does give you the best comprimise for a clear view of corners which ulitmately provides the quickest lap time.
I make guides for racing games, both old and new. Nothing I do is about showing how fast I am, because I'm simply not, but about helping fellow gamers at a similar level achieve their goals. If you wish to see other similar videos when I upload them, do remember to subscribe to the channel. And, if the video has been helpful I always appreciate a like or a comment. It encourages me to keep going.
I'm a 45 year old gamer with lots of other demands on my time so I only get a few hours a week to race these days. I use a Fanatec CSL Elite wheel and pedals mounted to a Wheelstand Pro. I'm not a world class driver, nor do I take things too seriously. I'm just a happy amateur and mere mortal doing what I can with what I have.

I reckon so too!
@@ToughMonkey can you help convince the CFO for me 😀
@@Badboy4281 maybe drop a few dividends to keep the shareholders happy. Flowers, a meal out, holiday somewhere nice perhaps.
@@ToughMonkey 🤔 she doesn’t like flowers. We are going on a family trip in November though.
Grab a PSVR2 with it too.
I did 1.58.580 in first 3 tries, then for 7 hours straight was trying to finish it…
Finally got it
Well done. It feels more satisfying when you finally nail one that took so long.
I hope this helps been struggling on this one a couple days. Been stuck on 1.59.125. Glad I found this channel with updated times. Trying for the platinum been feeling defeated on the super license.
1.58.895 after 2 hours rip me
700 miles and at 1.58.673
@@Violethill25I got the same thing it’s killing me man can’t get under it
F. I feel your pain. Stuck on 1.59.2
@@NSX-ki4bd I did pass it bro bro
You're help got me over the line! Thank you!!
Thank you so much your tutorial is the actual only one that worked for me thank you so much.
You, sir, should have a statue built of you! Primarily because you're the first person to understand the difference between a 'tutorial' and 'video of me driving'. Thank you. I've been at this one for weeks (luckily not too frustrating, I like the car and the track), but I finally managed it shortly after watching this - albeit at the 2:00.00 target (I did 1:59.560) but I don't care. Will be using you when I next struggle.
I appreciate the comments. I'm aware the physics have changed since the last time I played GT7 so I need to return to the game and see what the difference feels like. But I did try to make a guide with the information I look for where I'm searching for one myself. I'm paying attention to the on-screen telemetry, where it exists, to see the point of lifting/braking, turn in references and when to re-apply the throttle. Also, seeing the downshifts to pitch the car forward and get that initial bite of turn in, followed by the upshift to dial out wheelspin as you reapply the throttle is often key information to know, so I try to stop the video to illustrate where those important bits are.....because if I'm looking for that info then chances are others are too.
Thanks for the feedback.
@@ToughMonkey And that's exactly why you've made such a good video. We're all thinking the same thing, you just have the ability to explain it to us very well, concisely, timely and patiently. A lesson to other RUclipsrs. Of course, I'm struggling with S5 now, but at least I know whose video I'll watch first 😃
Hi i always watch your videos, very helpful. i'va always used a controller and now i've bought a wheel, but i'm really suck and i'm uncapable of doing good times with the wheel compared to the controller. i try to follow your guides step by step, but nothing. you made it look so easy, do you have any advice for me? thank you very much
Hi, thanks for watching my videos. I've not done one for GT in a while as I've not had time to play it since Christmas. I do plan to get back on it shortly though. As for going from controller to a wheel, some people do struggle with the initial change. The most important thing is to make sure the wheel is calibrated to how you want it to be. Sometimes they can be defaulted to settings that don't feel right, such as needing to turn the wheel a lot to get the car to turn how much you want, which makes it feel unresponsive and you miss turn-ins to corners. I set my wheels to 180 degrees of total travel, so if I'm holding the wheel at 9pm in my left hand and turn left my left hand will go as far as 6pm (90 degrees turn in each direction). For me that sharpens the reponse of the car, but adjust it to suit your own driving. Also, adjust the force feedback too. Alot of people want the force feedback as high as it'll go, which can be difficult to get used to straight away. Build the force up slowly.
@@ToughMonkey thank for the advices, i'll try to apply them
Could you do an update? .4 seconds off for 2 days now
I'm planning on returning to GT7 in the next couple of months. I've not done any new gaming of any nature for a while as I've been working on some larger projects coming to the channel later in teh year. It was around Christmas the last time I played GT7 so I've got to get to grips with the new physics update.
Thank you! You helped me very very much!!!
You’re very welcome, I’m pleased it helped.
Done at last. I achieved it with dual shock, not wheel.
1.58.106 yeah 👍🏽
Well done. Great effort.
Settings?
What is the easiest way to get hold of gold on this ?
Did you not watch the video? lol also did you ever get gold
3:24 through 3:30 how are you able to touch the throttle? Even in 5th gear with less than 50% throttle the car starts losing it’s tail 😭
Throttle control. Easy with peddles.
Are you willing to see my lap and let me know where I need to make up the one second I'm looking for? I've used your video for this challenge. IMHO it's the hardest of them all.
After 350kms i finally got a 1:58.497 😂 scared my god with my celebration. This one got to me though, had to use abs
How to get hold of gold ? thanks
This one is definitely harder than s10.
Yes it helps but with controller is harder to play....
Well that will always be the case. It’s easier to be more precise with your inputs using a wheel and pedals. That said I have a mate who is as quick as me on Dirt Rally 2.0 using just a keyboard. He’s an alien though I think.
I am days in and I can’t find another 250ms
Whats your settings
If you mean my assists, I have all assists off except for ABS set to low. Manual gear box. If you mean the car, it’s whatever it comes as stock for this event.
@@ToughMonkey0tcs?
@@z3ro7o yes, traction control at 0.
@@ToughMonkey just tried it cars spinning every where haha must be controller 3 is better
I did all gold with a controller😊
Great effort.
@@ToughMonkey thanks,they arent so hard compared to gt3,or gt1
I hate this track. It’s harder than I10
