The channel you reacted to for this video, Team Darkside or TDS, has just recently released an all intros for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Do you can just look at their channel by newest and find it pretty easily :) I personally can’t wait as an MH fanboy!
21:42 fun fact about shara, when it gets to low health it's eyes open, and they don't track your hunter, they track your camera, meaning it can see you the player, it knows its not fighting the hunter, but rather something outside of its reach.
@@lucscarabaeus It's come to light recently (as sourced from Tea Common Shark, who looked at the model in ZBrush IIRC) the eyes are concave (curved inwards like a dish) that makes the illusion occur. They remodelled the eyes to be convex like ours and it looks completely different. The shape of the eyes to make it look like it's staring right into your soul is very intentional and honestly makes Shara more creepy imo
You guys should react to the 15 anniversary size comparison! They include a lot of monsters you have not seen yet! Also mh4u or mhtri have amazing ecology videos as im sure you’ve been told.
The anniversary one is definitely the best but I feel like the 10th one is better. The 15 one goes really quick and doesn’t really show the monsters for that long
Yeah exactly. TDS vers is kinda okay? Most of the monsters look dead. They just standing there. It's okay for size comparison vid but seeing it doing nothing is kinda meh. I'm sorry if my opinion angered some TDS fan
Fun facts: The Black Diablos is a female Diablos that’s in heat, and she becomes ultra aggressive towards anything and everything. and the Bazelgeuse is affectionately known as the B52 Bomber due to its main attack being to carpet bomb hunters and other monsters with its volatile scales that explode after a delay.
Zorah Magdaros you saw on its hind legs a few times in the cutscenes. Basically its a massive Lava Turtle with a mountain of fire for its shell. And everytime you fight/interact with Zorah you tend to end up taking a journey running around ontop of its Shell. Notable you also always fight Zorah with Siege Weaponry as well instead of the regular swish slash stab approach.
To clarify, the Leshen and the Behemoth are from some crossover events, Leshen from the Witcher, where you even play as Geralt and have a friendly damaged Pukei-Pukei to support you in the fight if you free the Pukei-Pukei, and Behemoth, from Final Fantasy, game even announces what moves it uses and the moves it uses sure are deadly.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames In turn, Rathalos is a guest boss in Final Fantasy 14 and the fight is special in that it just targets random person and you have to do Monster Hunter World mechanics to beat it, like cutting off it's tail and jumping on it's back. As a bonus, FF14 dragoon armor and lance can both be made from Behemoth parts in MHW. But the FF14 disappoints in that while you can get monster parts from FF14 Rathalos and trade it for "Rathalos armor", that armor is sadly nothing like the cool one from MHW.
The Leshen, Ancient Leshen and Behemoth are from crossovers with The Witcher and Final Fantasy XIV respectively. Also, monsters have several subcategories shown in this video. Here is a breakdown of each one with examples: Subspecies: A rare mutation of a monster that usually has a different appearance, elemental affinity, or habitat compared to the original. (Azure Rathalos, Pink Rathian, Acidic Glavenus, Ebony Odogaron, Coral Pukei-Pukei, Nightshade Paolumu, Viper-Tobi-Kadachi, Stygian Zinogre) Rare Species: Like a subspecies, but much, much rarer and more powerful, usually on a level similar to Elder Dragons (Silver Rathalos, Gold Rathian) Variants: Variations of a monster usually caused by an event that happens during its lifetime (Savage Deviljho, Seething Bazelgeuse, Blackveil Vaal Hazak, Scarred Yian Garuga, Frostfang Barioth, Furious Rajang, Raging Brachydios, Shrieking Legiana, Ruiner Nergigante) There are more subcategories with no examples in this video, but frankly, this is all you need to know. Hope you enjoyed this 😊
You guys should react to the signature attacks of all the monsters. Many of the monsters have very epic attacks or charge up animations. Zinogre, the lightning wolf, has a charge up animation that is one of the coolest things in the entire game
The funny thing is that Fatalis is by far the most powerfull monster in the video (not including the collabs) and Alatreon follows right after. They are both part of the 1st Class danger monsters, better known as the Black Dragons. Even the collossal Zorah Magdaros or Dalamadur wouldn't stand a chance if they ever encountered any of the 5 Balck Dragons.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames big means slow in monster hunter typically. fatalis is fast and snake like in its movement and despite being a "basic" European style dragon it does its basics well. its fire can melt giant iron slabs that were built to fend off its flames and annihilated an entire country in one night. no one saw it and lived to tell. in fact, its name isn't meant for it. fatalis was used as a name for the calamity that country fell to. imagine naming a dragon Apocalypse. that's its power level.
For reference, the hunters are approximately around 165-175cm tall for the female and male respectively. Around 5’5 and 5’7/8 for us Americans. I think my favorite part of this specific video, is that Zorah Magdaros isn’t even the biggest monster in the franchise. That award is a tie between Dalamadur and Ravenite: two serpentine monsters that are the size of countries at full size. The former was one of final bosses (and gatekeeper of the higher ranks of gameplay) of MH4U, the latter on online raid boss in the Online series. Dalamadur as a supposed juvenile is around 44039.7 cm long. That’s over 15* larger than the real world Blue Whale, and you’ve got to kill it with magic pointy sticks and clubs.
That what I love about these types of games. It's the incredible creature designs, and the lightning ones are the best, especially red lightning. That xeno'jilva creature looked absolutely amazing. Fantastic video. Keep being awesome
@@blackcrasanblade late, but, correction as newly hatched is kinda misleading. It makes people think Xeno is a baby, when, in actuality, that "Egg" is closer to a Cocoon that it puts itself in to absorb large amounts of energy. So it's more like Xeno is freshly woken up from a self-induced coma.
Just a heads up: the Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos are know as the Royal Rath duo, and are considered 2 of the most dangerous monsters (that aren’t Elder Dragons). They’re also called the Silver Sun and Golden Moon, and are my favorite monsters in the series. Their weapons are some of the best looking, as well. Platinum Dawn, Shining Wyvern Blade, and Wyvern Lovers are famous for their combined Gold/Silver motifs, and my favorite mixed armor set in World was a combo of Gold Rathian armor and Silver Rathalos armor, paired with an arena headpiece that gave you an awesome clutch claw recovery move.
Too bad the Wyvern Lovers SUCK. Dual Blades player here, splitting up element on your attacks when elements are your main source of damage is NO BUENO. The Kush and Teo DBs are okay because Blast Proc is really good, but you'd probably just prefer a genuine Ice or Blast Weapon over it.
In theory, there is arguably a massively larger monster than any of those in the video. A full grown Dalamadur, which is a colossal serpent that could devour mountains. The biggest hint was how part of its skeleton makes up an entire map of a hunting area.
With the animation they had lunastra do in the video, that’s the animation she gets when she is downed and trying to recover. Most monsters that can be downed have a struggling animation like that, but Lunastra specifically is disliked by most of the fan base (she is in some ways more brutal to fight then Teostra her mate from my experience)
It's definitely worth checking out older size comparisons just to see many of the other monsters! Also, I highly recommend checking out the Turf Wars from Monster Hunter World (+Iceborne) and Monster Hunter Rise (+Sunbreak). Special interactions between certain monsters where they either fight and attack each other, or it's a one way massacre. Either way, they're really cool spectacles that are worth watching!
24:22 I mean for the more recent Monster Hunter Games, tracking a target has essentially become more streamlined, with World/Iceborne having the scout flies lead the way, and in Rise/Sunbreak they just give you the location of all the big monsters on the minimap. For tracking in previous games you would have to walk around in a map until you found your target and then tag them with a paint ball to keep track of where it was on the map since these games where less open world and where segmented to areas of a map, but about the note them blending in, they don’t. If your talking about Kulve Taroty and Shara Ishvalda, then no since they are Elder Dragons whose hunts take place in a special map exclusive to them, with Kulve’s playing out as a raid with you using a mix of your weapons and the siege weapons to breach her mantle and start the next phase, and Shara’s being just a 2 phase hunt since the 1st part of the hunt is breaking his armor and then you face the true Shara.
You should really check out the old size comparisons, all the way back from 3rd generation. They had stuff even bigger then Zorah back in the day. Especially 4th gen.
Kulve Taroth is probably my favorite. A Dragon that melts it's hoard into a golden wedding dress train behind it to act as armor. And when it gets to it's nest and you're still following it, so it just breaths fire on the roof and makes the gold ore veins rain down on you as a rain of molten metal.
I just love how in the first phase of her fight, she is barely even doing thing against you. You have to bother her enough to make her see you as more than just a minor nuisance, some pest to deal with.
In case anyone is wondering, why Lunastra fell over in the video (16:43), it's a running gag in TDS' videos. Lunastra is commonly known in the Monster Hunter community for being a very annoying enemy and is one of the most hated monsters in MHW. Lunastra falling is just TDS' way to express it.
There are much older versions of size comparing videos of monster hunter, if you thought Zora was huge, oooh you have not seen anything yet until you see the true titan of monster hunter.
@𝕸𝖗. 𝕾𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖘𝖊𝖊𝖗 the dalamadur we fight is a juvinile, if you look at the rotten Vale map you can literally see that it's made out of a fully grown dalamadur skeleton lol
@@mydrillasanjay5397 An insane seven mile elder is what that thing is. I mean geez imagine the diameter of that thing, all just muscle and dragonlike scales, a monster that huge would make anything run for the hills, if they don't get killed by the earthquakes caused by its movements first.
Glavenus (the t-rex with a knife tail) is my favorite monster. I’d recommend watching some of the fights because they are truly epic. Kulve Taroth is my favorite fight because it’s a lot of fun with no bs, and is backed up by amazing music. Shara Ishvalda and Fatalis are also incredible fights.
Fun fact for the unaware: Xeno'jiiva is the infant form of Safi'jiiva Kulve Taroth likes to melt gold and create a armor-like cape/veil with it. (Also I knew zorah was big, but I didn't actually assume 1/4th of a kilometer big (that's 15/100th of a mile for americans))
And to think the Xeno'jiva is only the freshly born version of Safi'jiva. And what it did was pull life energy from the ground. In the story it had the potential to literally kill the new world by draining it of all it's life force. If you guys have any specific questions about what some of the monsters are doing or questions about why some look different from others of apparently of the same species do not be afraid to ask. I have been playing the monster hunter series for quite some time. Oh and your guess about Kulve Taroth having molten gold covering it is 100% correct. Love your videos keep it up!
If you're interested in going more in depth with Monster Hunter in general, might I recommend the channel Oceaniz? They make wonderful in depth videos of the nature and biology of monsters, explaining with a mix of realworld and ingame logic how they function and act. Really great stuff. If you're interested, i made a little playlist of the main Videos, doesnt go SUPER into depth with the monsters but still pretty deep: ruclips.net/p/PLbivg0vxxqVjB6cb_j8gPhS5J6NlfF2Ft And if you're interested in the lore, i recommend RageGamingVideos, they have a major MH Lore series with waaaay too many videos to quickly make a playlist for, I apologize.
Nice so something to keep in mind these are the 'Average sizes' of these monsters some can be bigger or smaller than the sizes they are, some are so specifically for quests, for example there's a special quest where there's a Great Jagras about as small a normal sized Jagras. Glad to see you checking out more Monster Hunter, my next suggestion would be the Monster Hunter world, and Iceborne Turf Wars, it really helps sell whose on top and who isn't in monster hunter.
Amazing Video! This shows how much thought goes into these small details and the size differences that make the Monster Hunter series come to life. Also, I think the Canteen Scenes video from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is hugely underrated, You guys should check it out sometime. Delicious food made by the little Felynes.
I think you guys should check out the turf wars between the monsters. There's some really cool action in those and you mentioned you enjoyed it when the bigger monsters fight each other
You may already know this, but three of the monsters in this video are from crossover events. The Leshen and Ancient Leshen are from the Witcher, while the Behemoth is from Final Fantasy (specifically, FF14)
I would love if the species that have two versions were either playing together or fighting lol. A nice turf war would elevate this video. I wish they were all doing their distinct animations. Like if the first Paolumu puffed up since the other was puffed up sleeping😂. Another great reaction from y’all! I was JUST playing this game so glad I could come to a video right after!🥹
I’m kind of bummed that that TDS’s video didn’t have more monster animations. Some of the ones that didn’t move much are better looking in motion. Like Odogaron/Ebony didn’t even move
Yian garuga is the hybrid version of a Rathian and Yian Kut ku. The most dangerous version is the Wounded eye Yian Garuga, more lethal and more dangerous than a standard Garuga. The difference between Yian Kut ku and Yian Garuga is that Yian kut is slightly less aggressive but sometimes lazy in some point. But the Yian Garuga is aggressive and kills anything in sight.
So a fan fact about that weird rock/finger monster. When you said it was creepy, you were right! It has a thing thing in game where its eyes will always directly look at *YOU* instead of at your character. It's as if it's staring through the screen at you in real life 👀
Tiny bit of context 14:51 Leshen and Ancient Leshen are from a crossover event with The Witcher: Wild Hunt. They aren’t really Monster Hunter monsters and don’t follow the same rules. Literal magic forest creatures that control nature and animals. 19:16 This is Behemoth, a creature from the Final Fantasy series during a crossover event. Not natively from Monster Hunter, just like Leshen.
Fatalis was the final monster update in iceborn he's one of the most powerful and legendary monsters the one monster that hates all of humanity. plus unlike other Eldar Dragons who have very unique and crazy designs like Teostra, Kirin and Nergigante, Fatalis is one few if not the only who just look like a traditional European dragon from a fantasy RPG.
Rathian was actually the first monster designed for the original game, but then the designers said "we can make this cooler" and designed Rathalos. But instead of throwing Rathian out the window, they decided that Rathian and Rathalos are female and male of the same species. Diablos doesn't seem like it, but it's actually a herbivore. It lives in a desert and eats cacti. And a black Diablos is just a female one in heat. Yes, in this game series, you can fight an angry and horny horned sand devil dragon that eats cactus.
Fun fact: lore wise fatalis is the strongest on the list it is said to have destroyed a continent and in game it is the only monster to one shot you regardless of armor basically also the further down the line it goes with a monster like legiana and shrieking legiana the more dangerous it becomes
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames he forgot that was in a single night and it melts hunters and uses them as armor and can regenerate it's full body from a single scale making it immortal
Fun bit of extra info. Rathians and Rathalos are the the same species with Rathians being female and Rathalos being the male counterparts. Rathians also have venomous barbs they can use to poison foes. Later in game you can find yourself on missions facing both male and female together simultaneously.
Yup, and in World, if a Rathalos is on the map while you are hunting Rathian, she will call Rathalos and he will come help her fight you with insane aggression.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames King of the Sky and Queen of the land. Rathian can fly to a degree, but is largely ground based. During the nesting period Rathians will patrol the ground, while Rathalos will keep an eye from the sky. A dangerous couple.
Guys, I love your channel, and I love that you are putting some MH reactions!!! It's an amazing game, you should check a video about Turf Wars, it's so cool, they literally put every monster in the game fightinh each other, of course with their special interactions/moveset against each other
The Leshen is actually a monster created for the collaboration of Monster Hunter World and Witcher. The Xenojiva is actually the infant state of Safijiva.
Aw hail yeah, more Monster Hunter, it’d be cool to see some gameplay reaction, team Darkside do a lot of fun challenges you could watch, but overall good video
Not sure if it's been said, but leshen and ancient leshen were from a crossover with the witcher 3 and behemoth was from a crossover with final fantasy

A couple of interesting facts (even if its old): Rathalos and Rathian are a couple. The Rathian is just a female Rathalos which is why they look nearly identical colors aside. On differences are rathian has a venomous stinger on her tail and she’s actually more of a ground fighter compared to rathalos who likes to fly above its prey to attack with its venomous talons and rain down fire on them. The same case is also found with a black diablos which is actually a female diablos and the lunastra which is the female version of the teostra. Other littles things. The SafiJiiva is the adult form of the xenojiiva. The xenojiiva is actually a juvenile elder dragon in the story we fight him right after he hatches from his cocoon. Which is shown through the visible amount of clumsiness that it displays during the fight. Stumbling and falling on its own at multiple occasions and inefficient use of its seemingly endless energy. The safijiiva fight that happens later on in the dlc tho is a completely different story as it is now in full control of its body and its power, as well as much more experienced in battle. Making it a much bigger threat.
Honestly I can’t wait to see your reaction to dalamadur, not only is it absolutely gigantic, it’s also one of the 2 serpentine monsters in the main series.
What I love about this is, you get to Xenojiva and you think it may be the end but if you've played the game, they tell you that Xenojiva is just a baby... A literal newborne
I love this video even as, as pointed out in other comments, there are even bigger monster, like the Dalamadur or a couple of desert whales and, sometime, size doesn't matter. Some of the most difficult hants are against more reasonably sized monster that, for one reaos or another, can be a real pain in the back. Take Kirin, for example, he's incredibly agile, he's fast, and his skin is extremely hard to pierce, or the Devilijho that, aside for hitting like a train, using his drool diminishes your stamina and halves your defense. MH is a great and various world, and I'm here for it!
I don't know if you both knows but monsters like rathian and rathalos are the same species it's just that all rathians are female and prefer fighting on the ground with their poisonous tails and while all rathalos are males and they prefer flying with their poisonous talons and are much harder to deal with than rathians. Same thing with Teostra (Males) and Lunastra (Females) and I wanna let you guys know from your older video reacting to monster hunter world monster intro cutscenes Teostra & Lunastra actually resemble a creature called the Manticore not a griffin. I kind of got a lil annoyed by that because both of them are 2 of my favorite monsters when I hunt them but its fine
Except Bazelgeuse, but no one gets that one right. (It even has two different pronunciations. According to Stories, it's BAH-zel-geese, but according to the Title Update 1 event for Sunbreak, it's BAA-zel-geese).
We, the hunters, were assigned to *track* that gigantic rock because the guild assumed its unexpected recent activity would wreck the ecosystem to shreds. So, no. We didn't jump on it to discover it's not a rock. We tracked it down and jump onto it, trying to stop it in its track.
kulve torath is a monster encased in gold and you have to break the gold off to damage its real body and my favorate monster is kirin and xeno'jiva also the leshen is from a colaberation with the witcher and the behemoth is from a colab with final fantasy
I think the oddest thing about this size comparison video is that they didn’t make shrieking legiana roar, the one thing that the creature literally has in its name is the one monster that doesn’t do it, so odd… so odd
like how rathian/rathalo are female/male counterpart odogaron is a highly aggressive scavenger and the (B-52) like a vulture design for long distance glide scavenger
If you are looking for more monster hunter content I would love to have y’all see channels “fear of flames” and “Just some memes”. Great stuff and more gameplay heavy than the intros you have seen.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames I only just realized, the 10th anniversary (the one I was thinking of) is in Japanese, so...that might be trouble. However, most of the monsters should be recognizable since A LOT of them have been seen in the newer content
So, Bazelgeuse and Seething, both drop bombs, both are a pain in the ass, however when enraged Bazelgeuse drops bombs, Seething... Its bombs become purple and bloom like flowers, terrifying fight
and the other games have different monsters. Some monsters cross over into every game, like Rathian and Rathalos, which are the flagship couple of Monster Hunter. They are the Sub-Zero and Scorption of this franchise if Sub-Zero and Scorpion wanted to have lots of babies.
Hm, say, have any of you ever heard of Asura’s Wrath? If not, i recommend reacting to all the Cutscenes and Bosses of it, ‘cause it’s quite of a interesting story.
My fav out of these are Stygian Zinogre and Alatreon visually. Kind of a bummer World is the entry point for so many people to Monster Hunter because so many more stunning monsters were never added to it. instead it was just kinda lizard mania
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames if there is one for MH 4 Ultimate you should check that one out It had some of the more out there designs as it was the game that introduced different levels in an area so the monsters kinda had to fit the theme of having to climb and jump great heights
16:50 that happens because Lunastra is one of the most annoying monsters to fight in the game and 18:35 is the best Elder Dragon no I will not debate Also Safi’Jiva is the adult form of Xeno’jiva. They both have the power to manipulate life energy.
Aptonoth and apceros are just the background herbivores XD XD Jyuratodus is a fish out of water. Jyura, beotodus, and lavasioth are fish wyverns. Jyura lives in water, beo in deep snow, and lavasioth swims through molten lava Fulgur anja's charging roar is so much more intimidating when you're right in front of him in the wild Brute tigrex's roar is so powerful it almost breaks its own ribs and sends hunters flying Black diablos isn't even a subspecies... It's just a female diablos in heat, which causes her color to change and her to get super aggressive It's actually pronounced "bazelgoose" XD But everyone calls him the B-52 bomber of Monster Hunter, or whichever profanity they happen to think of first, especially when he crashes a hunt XD Fun fact: his roar is based on an air raid siren, just slowed down and deepened Deviljho is as tall as a T-rex, but almost twice as long. His 'savage' form is actually just a normal jho that's gone cannibal... It's eaten other deviljho and gone mad as a result. That's why its body crackles with dragon energy, absorbed from the other jho it's eaten. Normal jho is nothing but rage and hunger... Savage jho triples the hunger and adds 100x more rage Leshen and ancient leshen both come from the Witcher 3 crossover. You did not check out their trailers, so you wouldn't remember them XD That was lunastra's stun animation. She's actually Teostra's female counterpart... Teo are always male, Luna are always female. That's miasma Vaal Hazak is emitting. It drains your energy and can literally suck the life out of monsters and hunters alike. You saw it in his intro cutscene, he used it to suck the life from an entire girros pack. He's actually a silver dragon covered in a veil of rotting matter. His title is actually the 'corpse coat dragon', and it's easy to see why. Blackveil Vaal is a Vaal Hazak that's been infected by fungus, so its body is covered by fungal growths and it emits clouds of fungal spores Behemoth is from Final fantasy XIV, and he's one of my favorite fights. Extreme Behemoth is still one of the hardest fights in the game, even in master rank gear. Xeno'jiiva is actually the _baby._ Safi'jiiva is its adult form :) And yes, he was pulling energy from the ground Kulve Taroth is covered in a golden shell that has to be knocked off during the fight. She's known as the 'Mother Goddess of Gold', and her lair is called the Caverns of El Dorado Zorah's head was hidden under the edge of its shell. They should have made it rear up into its bipedal stance. It's the 'burning mountain dragon', and that is an actual volcano on its back From kirin onward, all those monsters were elder dragons, essentially natural disasters given form Shara Ishvalda is even creepier during its fight, in the third phase when its eyes open. Because its eyes don't follow your character, they follow the camera, staring right out of the screen _RIGHT AT YOU._
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Brute tiggy wields it as a weapon... Like a blast of air and sound coming out of his jaws. Tiggy doesn't have a breath weapon, he's not an elemental monster, but with that roar brute tiggy might as well be

Rare Species: Like a subspecies, but much, much rarer and more powerful, usually on a level similar to Elder Dragons (Silver Rathalos, Gold Rathian)
Variants: Variations of a monster usually caused by an event that happens during its lifetime (Savage Deviljho, Seething Bazelgeuse, Blackveil Vaal Hazak, Scarred Yian Garuga, Frostfang Barioth, Furious Rajang, Raging Brachydios, Shrieking Legiana, Ruiner Nergigante)
There are more subcategories with no examples in this video, but frankly, this is all you need to know. Hope you enjoyed this 😊

Black Diablos is a female Diablos in heat
Minor correction, Blackveil Vaal Hazak is a Variant also, not a subspecies, but that's all.
I thought the behemoth looked familiar!
Thanks so much for this helpful info 😀
You guys should react to the signature attacks of all the monsters. Many of the monsters have very epic attacks or charge up animations. Zinogre, the lightning wolf, has a charge up animation that is one of the coolest things in the entire game
We can add that to our MH request list 🙂
The funny thing is that Fatalis is by far the most powerfull monster in the video (not including the collabs) and Alatreon follows right after. They are both part of the 1st Class danger monsters, better known as the Black Dragons. Even the collossal Zorah Magdaros or Dalamadur wouldn't stand a chance if they ever encountered any of the 5 Balck Dragons.
So being the biggest doesn’t always mean being the baddest 😜😎💪
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames big means slow in monster hunter typically. fatalis is fast and snake like in its movement and despite being a "basic" European style dragon it does its basics well. its fire can melt giant iron slabs that were built to fend off its flames and annihilated an entire country in one night. no one saw it and lived to tell. in fact, its name isn't meant for it. fatalis was used as a name for the calamity that country fell to. imagine naming a dragon Apocalypse. that's its power level.
16:43 inside joke for Team Darkside (or i guess most MH fans) they do NOT like Lunastra
😎👍🙂
Aka pretty much you have to try to kill it with something which isn't even comparatively the size of a toothpick
I think you mean Laviente, that is the name i know him and like most of the good Monsters he is MHF only
i always assume 180cm in videogames
@@stefanfranssen7045 both Raviente and Laviente are correct spelling of his name since in the Japanese language, L and R are interchangeable.
@@Skibbutz Well regardless of the L and R, you spelled it “Raventite” lol.
That what I love about these types of games. It's the incredible creature designs, and the lightning ones are the best, especially red lightning. That xeno'jilva creature looked absolutely amazing. Fantastic video. Keep being awesome
Red lightning will alway be cool 🤩
xeno’jilva just newly hatched safi’jilva sadly but the different we see them as baby-adult is great
@@blackcrasanblade late, but, correction as newly hatched is kinda misleading. It makes people think Xeno is a baby, when, in actuality, that "Egg" is closer to a Cocoon that it puts itself in to absorb large amounts of energy. So it's more like Xeno is freshly woken up from a self-induced coma.
@@Sassaparilla it like a caterpillar in sense baby till cocoon then butterfly it a baby still in ways not larva stage tho at most adolescent
Dangerous pfft ... I solo them with my kinsect. As in, I don't even bother hitting them with the Insect Glaive, just sting sting sting.
Toast has never heard the metal raths referred to as the royal rath duo once until you said it
Thanks for giving us some more info on the Royal Rath Duo 😀
Too bad the Wyvern Lovers SUCK. Dual Blades player here, splitting up element on your attacks when elements are your main source of damage is NO BUENO. The Kush and Teo DBs are okay because Blast Proc is really good, but you'd probably just prefer a genuine Ice or Blast Weapon over it.
In theory, there is arguably a massively larger monster than any of those in the video. A full grown Dalamadur, which is a colossal serpent that could devour mountains. The biggest hint was how part of its skeleton makes up an entire map of a hunting area.
😳 that’s crazy 🤯
I'm late, but someone mathed it out.
The Vale Skeleton, measuring from the size of its head is 17.8K Feet Long.
So it was almost 3.4 Miles in length.
Thanks for helping explain that for us 🙂
same with rathalo/rathian buts hate teostra/lunastra together you dont survive unless you eat or prep for it
It's definitely worth checking out older size comparisons just to see many of the other monsters!
Yes, turf wars and the older size comp videos are on our list 😁
We will check them out for sure 🙂
Yeah one of the beast is a whole map in monster hunter world lol
@@ralphire77 Dalamadar was the BOMB!
That’s a pretty good reason to have it as your favorite. Good description 🙂
I just love how in the first phase of her fight, she is barely even doing thing against you. You have to bother her enough to make her see you as more than just a minor nuisance, some pest to deal with.
Oh hey! thank you for hearing out my comment from before! this is the right video for you to react to. Glad you enjoyed it!
Fun video! Thanks for the recommendation 🥳🥳
The leshen’s are from a collab with the Witcher.
😎👍🙂
There's also a 10th anniversary and 15th anniversary size comparison for monster hunter which I think you would like aswell.
Sounds good to us 😀
There are much older versions of size comparing videos of monster hunter, if you thought Zora was huge, oooh you have not seen anything yet until you see the true titan of monster hunter.
@𝕸𝖗. 𝕾𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖘𝖊𝖊𝖗 I guess you have not heard about the actual size they get to huh?
@𝕸𝖗. 𝕾𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖘𝖊𝖊𝖗 the dalamadur we fight is a juvinile, if you look at the rotten Vale map you can literally see that it's made out of a fully grown dalamadur skeleton lol
We plan to check out the other versions as well 🙂😀
@@mydrillasanjay5397 An insane seven mile elder is what that thing is.
How can we make a T-Rex more terrifying? What if we gave it a knife tail?! 😨
Fun fact for the unaware:
Xeno'jiiva is the infant form of Safi'jiiva
Kulve Taroth likes to melt gold and create a armor-like cape/veil with it.
(Also I knew zorah was big, but I didn't actually assume 1/4th of a kilometer big (that's 15/100th of a mile for americans))
Thanks for sharing those fun facts 😀
Nicely!!! Love these sort of size comparison videos, really give one a sense of the scale of things. Cheers!!!😁
Yeah it was fun to check out. We will have to see some of the other videos like this 🙂
And to think the Xeno'jiva is only the freshly born version of Safi'jiva.
Hey one of our guesses was right! 😀🥳
"Thunder Puppy" catch me off guard, LOVE IT

If you're interested in going more in depth with Monster Hunter in general, might I recommend the channel Oceaniz? They make wonderful in depth videos of the nature and biology of monsters, explaining with a mix of realworld and ingame logic how they function and act. Really great stuff.
If you're interested, i made a little playlist of the main Videos, doesnt go SUPER into depth with the monsters but still pretty deep: ruclips.net/p/PLbivg0vxxqVjB6cb_j8gPhS5J6NlfF2Ft
And if you're interested in the lore, i recommend RageGamingVideos, they have a major MH Lore series with waaaay too many videos to quickly make a playlist for, I apologize.
Thanks for the channel recommendations for more Monster Hunter 😀
16:44 I think they made the Lunastra do its knockdown animation because Lunastra hunts are known by basically everyone to be obscenely frustrating.
We look forward to the turf wars 😁
"Drops bombs, real pain in the ass"

Also, I think the Canteen Scenes video from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is hugely underrated, You guys should check it out sometime. Delicious food made by the little Felynes.
We plan on checking those out as well as they seem like fun videos 🙂
I think you guys should check out the turf wars between the monsters. There's some really cool action in those and you mentioned you enjoyed it when the bigger monsters fight each other
Yup. Plan to do that for a fight night Friday one of these days just not sure when 🤗
yes turf war is good to see you’ll see alot of odogaron due to being a scavenger and highly aggressive
I love the design of Coral Pukei-Pukei and Shara Ishvalda reminds me of A poke’mon Giratina.
You may already know this, but three of the monsters in this video are from crossover events. The Leshen and Ancient Leshen are from the Witcher, while the Behemoth is from Final Fantasy (specifically, FF14)
We didn’t know it while watching but have since been informed 😇🙂
I would love if the species that have two versions were either playing together or fighting lol. A nice turf war would elevate this video. I wish they were all doing their distinct animations. Like if the first Paolumu puffed up since the other was puffed up sleeping😂. Another great reaction from y’all! I was JUST playing this game so glad I could come to a video right after!🥹
Oh nice. Perfect timing 😊🥳

Thanks for giving us more info on Yian Garuga 😀
The Deviljho has come to be known by the MH community as the "Angry Pickle"
So a fan fact about that weird rock/finger monster. When you said it was creepy, you were right!
It has a thing thing in game where its eyes will always directly look at *YOU* instead of at your character. It's as if it's staring through the screen at you in real life 👀
Oh damn 😳 Yup. Creepy for sure haha 😨
Tiny bit of context
14:51 Leshen and Ancient Leshen are from a crossover event with The Witcher: Wild Hunt. They aren’t really Monster Hunter monsters and don’t follow the same rules. Literal magic forest creatures that control nature and animals.

Fatalis definitely leaves an impression 😳🤩
The crazy part is Xeno’Jiiva is massive but only a baby just born. Safi’Jiiva is the adult

Thanks for letting us know 🙂😀
When they released this video I absolutely loved it, I have been a fan of team dark side for many years
😎🤟 this was an impressive video for sure
Rathian was actually the first monster designed for the original game, but then the designers said "we can make this cooler" and designed Rathalos. But instead of throwing Rathian out the window, they decided that Rathian and Rathalos are female and male of the same species.
Diablos doesn't seem like it, but it's actually a herbivore. It lives in a desert and eats cacti. And a black Diablos is just a female one in heat. Yes, in this game series, you can fight an angry and horny horned sand devil dragon that eats cactus.
That’s a cool fun fact about Rathian and Rathalos 😀
Fun fact, the music in the video is from Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, which you saw the trailers for!
Oh nice 😀
Fun fact: lore wise fatalis is the strongest on the list it is said to have destroyed a continent and in game it is the only monster to one shot you regardless of armor basically also the further down the line it goes with a monster like legiana and shrieking legiana the more dangerous it becomes
Destroyed a continent 😳
Those are the Queen of the sky and king of the land? Or is it vice versa 🤔 Still learning 😅
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames King of the Sky and Queen of the land. Rathian can fly to a degree, but is largely ground based.
During the nesting period Rathians will patrol the ground, while Rathalos will keep an eye from the sky. A dangerous couple.

A couple of interesting facts (even if its old):
Rathalos and Rathian are a couple.
Is that the snake that ate a mountain 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yeah it is
What I love about this is, you get to Xenojiva and you think it may be the end but if you've played the game, they tell you that Xenojiva is just a baby... A literal newborne
Just a newborn. Crazy 😳
As if getting drooled on wasn’t bad enough 😝

Same thing with Teostra (Males) and Lunastra (Females) and I wanna let you guys know from your older video reacting to monster hunter world monster intro cutscenes Teostra & Lunastra actually resemble a creature called the Manticore not a griffin. I kind of got a lil annoyed by that because both of them are 2 of my favorite monsters when I hunt them but its fine

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames if there is one for MH 4 Ultimate you should check that one out
It had some of the more out there designs as it was the game that introduced different levels in an area so the monsters kinda had to fit the theme of having to climb and jump great heights
16:50 that happens because Lunastra is one of the most annoying monsters to fight in the game and 18:35 is the best Elder Dragon no I will not debate
Also Safi’Jiva is the adult form of Xeno’jiva. They both have the power to manipulate life energy.
😎👍🙂
Aptonoth and apceros are just the background herbivores XD
XD Jyuratodus is a fish out of water. Jyura, beotodus, and lavasioth are fish wyverns. Jyura lives in water, beo in deep snow, and lavasioth swims through molten lava
Fulgur anja's charging roar is so much more intimidating when you're right in front of him in the wild
Brute tigrex's roar is so powerful it almost breaks its own ribs and sends hunters flying
Black diablos isn't even a subspecies... It's just a female diablos in heat, which causes her color to change and her to get super aggressive
It's actually pronounced "bazelgoose" XD But everyone calls him the B-52 bomber of Monster Hunter, or whichever profanity they happen to think of first, especially when he crashes a hunt XD Fun fact: his roar is based on an air raid siren, just slowed down and deepened
Deviljho is as tall as a T-rex, but almost twice as long. His 'savage' form is actually just a normal jho that's gone cannibal... It's eaten other deviljho and gone mad as a result. That's why its body crackles with dragon energy, absorbed from the other jho it's eaten. Normal jho is nothing but rage and hunger... Savage jho triples the hunger and adds 100x more rage
Leshen and ancient leshen both come from the Witcher 3 crossover. You did not check out their trailers, so you wouldn't remember them
XD That was lunastra's stun animation.
Blackveil Vaal is a Vaal Hazak that's been infected by fungus, so its body is covered by fungal growths and it emits clouds of fungal spores
Behemoth is from Final fantasy XIV, and he's one of my favorite fights. Extreme Behemoth is still one of the hardest fights in the game, even in master rank gear.
Xeno'jiiva is actually the _baby._ Safi'jiiva is its adult form :) And yes, he was pulling energy from the ground
Kulve Taroth is covered in a golden shell that has to be knocked off during the fight. She's known as the 'Mother Goddess of Gold', and her lair is called the Caverns of El Dorado
Zorah's head was hidden under the edge of its shell. They should have made it rear up into its bipedal stance. It's the 'burning mountain dragon', and that is an actual volcano on its back
From kirin onward, all those monsters were elder dragons, essentially natural disasters given form
