I admit, the first time I found out about this in the 1980s, I was surprised and confused about it. But in doing more research into the mores of the time, and reading more of Ellen White's material, I found out that she was dead-set against the Masons, and the obelisk was not generally considered a pagan symbol in the 1800s in America. Witness the Washington monument.

But with the internet today, many people say it is a phallic symbol, or something else, for which they never give more solid evidence other than a wink-wink, nudge-nudge type of thing. Sadly, several well-known SDA pastors are spreading these falsehoods too.

Granica doby jest o zmroku, gdy widać pierwsze gwiazdy. Nauka adwentystyczna poza tym dewastuje podział dekalogu 5 na 5 podziałem Orygenesa 4 na 6, czy to nie jest atak na dekalog???
Wczytując znaczenia w tę prostą strukturę, można dojść do najróżniejszych wniosków. Zatem trudność z udzieleniem odpowiedzi polega na tym, że stało się to sprawą, której nie można dotknąć, ponieważ znajduje się ona w umyśle, a umysł jest miejscem, którego nikt inny nie może dotknąć. Dziękuję, że napisałeś po polsku, żeby nie wprowadzać innych w błąd.

It was installed when James died, as indicated in the video.

The obelisk was first used by the ancient Egyptians and erected to their sun god Ra. It is a pagan symbol no matter which way you want to look at it. It is not a Freemason symbol even though they use it. Freemasonry is pagan anyway.
As to Ellen White and her teachings they are unscriptural for the Bible forbids a woman to teach a man and she is to ask her husband if she does not understand. The White's reversed that teaching and James taught what Ellen taught him.
So you want to read that into it. Noted.

It was already in place when her husband died, as I understand it.

Obelisk and the meaning of it Baal Worship and being on there grave site is definitely 🧐 questionable and tells us exactly who they are .
I follow a group of young Adventist speaker online . I was recently watching their annually camp meeting conference and one of the speakers continually was throwing up masonic hand symbols 🤘 I was in complete shock and fast forward it multiple times to confirm .
It's just a grave marker. Hand gestures to an audience that isn't masonic are just hand gestures. But thanks for speaking up and helping the algorithm to point others to the video.

The obelisk is a pagan symbol of fertility. Why on earth have that on your grave as a marker?
You know, that symbolism would not be obvious to anyone unless you told them, and the obelisk really doesn't look at all like what it is said to represent. So, setting aside the distraction of its supposed symbolism for a moment to answer your question, I would answer that that simple pillar can be and has been used all over the earth as a marker to call attention to an important earthly resting place of a beloved family. Because of its height, it is readily seen.

The obvious idolatry that you clearly don’t see that you and many others do when it comes to Ellen G white. Many do not defend the Bible and its prophets like that at all. Even those who go to the grave show how much they honor the dead which is very wrong . I've never read any such comments from her, but certainly the only one to worship is God. Then, for your second point, I'm not sure how you are interpreting a family cemetery marker as idolatry. BTW, though I've gone to Michigan for historical research, I've never visited the cemetery.
How about sticking to exclusively what Yeshua says. And what the Holy Scriptures say.

As people who have trust and believe in sister's Ellen G white ministry, that Obelisk grave marker is kind repproch to us as an Adventists . In other side, no doubt active members of Jesuits are already in SDA church, and they're holding some positions in the church , busy recruiting and training specially young people. ...have Obelisk on EGW's grave will not that be kind of symbol to give an opportunity to Jesuits that are within the church to milead others away or mingle truth and error? because Jesuits are connected with Masons.
