I'm a lifelong Barry Manilow fan. I am so glad you've reacted to many of his songs and are enjoying his music. Barry Manilow is one of the all-time greats. "Daybreak" is definitely one of my very favorite songs from him.
Adrienne Anderson was one of a "stable" of 4-6 lyricists (also Marty Panzer and Bruce Sussman) with whom Manilow regularly collaborated to write lyrics for the melodies/songs he personally wrote. You'll see her name appears throughout his first several albums in the 1970s. Lady Flash was the name given to his core three backup singers. Fun fact: They released a solo album, produced by Barry, which didn't sell particularly well -- but they (led by Debra Byrd, later of "American Idol" fame) were an outstanding backup trio.

It just seems to be so easy for Barry Manilow to sing those wonderful songs.I could never get tired of listening to him. Such a great singer.Those who sing simple and easy seem to be able to do it longer.Manilow, Gladys Knight, Dianna Ross, Smokey Robinson ,Tom Jones ,Billy Ocean ,so many still sound really good.

Even though I've heard this song A Thousand Times I never heard this recording. The radio always played the live version in which at the end of the song he says let's go all the way and changes key a third time while the audience is clapping to the Rhythm...much better version imo
Jaybriel..........See this is not the usual way he sings it. He sings it so much faster in concert. If you ever listen on You Tube the Ready to Take a Chance Again Medley, you will hear the best version of it at LA in 2002 (actually it was New Year's Eve 2001 ). Please listen to that Medley. You will love it there. I think that it is a much better version. Lady Flash really became popular in 1978 when the original version of Copacabana came out. that one is fabulous................................Love ya............Betsy Blue-Eyes

Barry loves those key changes. This is such a fun, upbeat song. Another nice one is Sweet Heaven. Love Barry.

Well overall it wasn't a big song. Didn't chart or nothing but it's a good one for him.
