I feel you, only started to play monster hunter last autum, because I couldn't wait for MH World to come out... I started with dual blades, because that's normally my weapon type to go for, then got hooked on GS and then tried bow and loved it. I didn't want to try out bowguns at first, but after seeing Phemeto's videos I tried LBG and that's only what I play right now.

mohammed benderfouf ranged weapons are always some of the highest dps if used correctly. The only reason everyone didnt use them is their armor was really weak. That's not the case now and idk how i feel about that...

Phemeto what do you think of the new Aloy bow with the 30% affinity base? I was thinking about trying it with elementless 1x aff aug and 2xatt augs and trying for a 100% crit bow build... If my calculations are right it should sit at around 240 dmg and 40% affinity base with 0 decs. Let me know your thoughts...
Ranged DPS has been buffed so much since 3U and 4U.... just makes the game look so easy when you don't have to worry about being trampled, tail swiped and hit by a random hit box because of melee range. On a positive note, your item management and swapping of gear is good though.
Awesome clear man! I'm really curious about the opening barrels though. What exactly was going on there? Planning on going bow for the Live game and I haven't ever really messed with the barrels, but it seems they're pretty goddamn important.

The blast coatings he used in the beginning helped a lot. Just keep blowing up the hard spikes and attack the weaker ones with arc shot and spread shot.

Well I already loved bow before but it truly is the most mobile Gunner weapon now. Do you think all bows in the full version will be locked into rapid regular, spread powershots and pierce dragonpiercer?
As far as I'm aware all bows will have the same shot types. So it will be like you described it (rapid shot regular, spread shot power, pierce shot dragon piercer)
Lowest I've seen so far was 3:44 or 3:46, I forget which, as HBG. There's been a Bow, CB, HBG, LBG, and GL kill (at least as far as pictures/videos confirming) sub 4 kills though.
Xbox and PC don't get the betas, unfortunately. The MH team wanted to focus on one console for testing purposes and the Xbox market basically doesn't exist in Japan (and PC is still being worked on) so PS4 was their choice, sorry!
The Arcadean well let me know if it was good, I’m more then likely going to pick it up for Xbox next week. Since D2 sucks ass right now, might as well try this game out.
It's AMAZING. I pre-ordered after the second beta, no regrets. I played D2 since release and I agree - it just sucks now. MH: World is (to me) just a straight-up better game in literally every respect. Much harder, though, and WAY more reliant on player skill and monster/map awareness. So be warned! ;)
Glaive is really good. So easy to mount, just remember that it’s better combos are it’s ground ones, so don’t waste time in the air for fun when it’s not optimal. Getting down melee marks helps a TON, just grab red from distance then go in as usual and try to grab the others through your combo mark.

Barrel bombs are flat 80 damage, so 2 for 160 free damage is pretty decent, plus it usually knocks him over.

Yeah with the additional analog for aiming I think will make it easier for long ranger to aiming and maneuvering

Sebastian Rohrbach any weapon is viable through the whole game. Always has been. Some are more optimal than others but no less viable.

There are many more powerful weapons, but the glaive is so much damn fun.
