AKA Aang, Katara, Toph, Zuko, and most everyone else), things get a little tricky when it comes to her extended family. Whether it be her spooky twin cousins Desna and Eska or their psychotic father Unalaq, Korra didn't have the best relationship with her dad's side of the family. Eska's voice and personality is like mai's voice and personality
I've seen them being compared, but I honestly don't think it's true. Mai was intentionally bored and calm, whereas Eska (and her brother) don't really seem to know any better. Based on what we know it's safe to assume Unalaq shielded them quite a lot from the outside world, though more for his own sake than theirs.

After yue become moon there is no heir direct heir to the chief position .The unalaq and tonraq father maybe the related to yue in a cousin way ,so Korra is related to Yue.

@Cora Chapin Did you pay attention to the first show? In the season 1 finale Pakku tells the Gaang that he and some waterbenders will be moving to the South to help rebuild it. It's also seen in the comics (I won't necessarily base this on them since not everybody reads them but evidence is at least in the show).
So any waterbenders in the South come from Northern ancestors (unless they were born from Southern non benders like Katara was, but I doubt that)

Well the reason she knows how to master three elements at a young age is because Aang had to hurry and learn 3 elements at a young age.
Aang didn’t know he was the Avatar when he was 4 so there was no way he could learn the other elements. Either why he learned 3 in a few months and he arguably mastered water

So, since Tonraq was meant to be the chief of the northern water tribe, but Unalaq became the chief instead. Does that mean Korra is somewhat related to Princess Yue’s family.

Korra’s family is honestly really interesting and underrated. I find her overall backstory and her family’s backstory a bit more interesting than Aang’s personally.

Aang was raised by monks, he doesn't exactly have the traditional nuclear family like Korra's

Korra is the true heir of both southern & the northern water tribe. So this basically means that she's royalty & is actually a princess from the water tribes. Here is the similarity between the two team avatars: they both have a southern water tribe princess & maybe the new one is somehow related with Yue, no wonder why Korra's so powerful.....

So Korra is Unalaq's niece, making her a part of the Water Tribe's royal family,
which means that she would in some way be related to Yue.
Now, we know that Yue was Sokka's first gf, and that Katara is Sokka's sister. We also know that Katara married Aang. So, if Yue never sacrificed herself and Sokka and Yue ended up getting married, That would make Korra in some way legally related to Aang.

Since we have no suggestion that there was a transition in royal families, Tonraq and Unalaq’s father may very well be Arnook (the chief of the northern tribe during ATLA). Since he was around fifty in 100 AG, he’d be around 100 by the time of Tonraq’s banishment (which was around 150 AG), which makes sense as we’ve seen people live that long. So that means princess Yue is Korra’s aunt.

Correction: we didn't try to "finish what Unalaq had started," his endgame was separate from ours. We just wanted to release Vaatu and return the world to its natural order, we had no intention to merge with him.

Korra is related to Yue because Tonraq and Unalque are royalty of the northern water tribe which means that there would be enough time between atla and tlok which would allow a relative of Yue’s father or the northern chief to have a son or daughter which would have 2 sons, Tontaq and Unalauqe.

@@vetarlittorf1807 he is talking about the North, Tonraq was older and the reason he was disowned was something planned by Unalaq, so Tonraq is the legitimate chief of the North, even though he chooses not to pursue it and is okay with Desna and Eska becoming Northern chiefs. However, since Eska reigns together with her brother, it means that females ARE ALLOWED to inherit in the North, and thus if Tonraq had chosen to become chief of the North after the revelation, which he could, Korra WOULD be the crown princess, and if she accepted it, she could, when Tonraq died, be the Avatar and the monarch of the North Pole at the same time, perhaps also the South, since at the end of the civil war she could have chosen to announce the South to remain part of the North, which she COULD do, since she was the Avatar.

I like the fact that Senna is a waterbender. Though not a master by any means, I like to imagine Senna and Tonraq pulling pranks on each other. Senna freezing Tonraq's water, Tonraq keeps sliding Senna in a slab of ice, harmless little jokes. I like to imagine them playing with baby Korra using waterbending, dyeing the water bright colors for Korra to enjoy.
