Hi Louise - so very beautiful! So informative - great instruction. Thank you! I hope you had a great time in DC and I'm sure your classes were a big hit!
I am so glad to hear that your teaching experience went really well and that it exceeded your expectations! Your videos show that you’re a great instructor and I’m sure that meeting and painting with a lot of pouring enthusiasts was great fun. Kudos!!
Lots of good tips for me. Some day I'll give it a try. I'm still collecting material. The dollar store paint was a disaster, but I only tried it on some cheap temu wood coasters. No big loss
Great Bill, go forth and kill it! If I give anyone any advice for when I started, it is just go ahead and spend the money on the better paints to start with, goldens, Arteza, those staples will get you great results!
Hi Louise! Beautiful work as always and so appreciate you taking the time and effort to share your skills with us! I live in Canada and since Behr changed the 8300 recipe, I had to switch to the Behr Dynasty which is $109 per gallon 😢. I think the blingy blue you are working with is TLP Mermaid. Have a great weekend!
I still say you should try to break into bloomed skateboards. There might be a market for your art there. I can see were you have evolved with your equipment. And of course, it's beautiful, and made with my favorite color.
Hi Oswald and welcome back, well I like your idea about the skateboards, I’m not sure I want to try to get into that market lol🤣 I mean, I think people might be so distracted by the bloom that they might forget what they’re doing with their feet😂 I know you love this color pellet that’s why I stay with it so much😀
I totally agree with your not sharing your pricing - there are too many varialbles. Would you share the types of venues where you sell them? I don't think you do craft fairs - at least in my area they are more like flea markets and no one wants to pay for actual hand made artistry. If I get to a place where I am confidant my work is sellable -AKA my family and freinds have been over-gifted - I'd love some ideas on where to start. I love this board and the whole skin idea.
Thank you B, i’m actively in two art and craft stores downtown. Now I live in Asheville, North Carolina and this is a very, very high arts and music community, so there are a lot of arts stores and honestly, I probably can be in more. I just don’t put myself out there because I’m happy where I am. It was neighbors of mine that insisted I go downtown with them and they introduced me to people at the shops and I was immediately picked up as a client. It’s a great arrangement, I bring my stuff down there. We have established pricing and then they send me a check at the end of the month.😉😀

Hi Louise! I've just recently found your videos and have been binging like crazy, I'm learning sooo much! I do have one question though, is there a reason you don't just resin the entire board? I wasn't sure if it's just the cost of resin or if there was another reason. Thanks, love your videos!!
Thank you, Carrie 😘🧡and first of all welcome glad you’re here and glad you’re enjoying the videos. Good question, and my first answer is simply cost because I would be adding 2/3 as much resin and that gets costly after a while. The other reason is the blooms on each end when resin pop from the wood, so it makes it highlighted as a more pretty piece in my opinion. While you’re here, sounds like you found a lot of my videos, but I do have playlists that break down all the videos by category. And as you see, I do a lot of functional art. I have another video coming out this afternoon. It’s going to be a clock creation maybe I’ll see you there .😉
Hi Louise. I’ve just binge watched several videos, and really like everything I’m seeing plus learned a few things too! Thank you! May I ask how you resin in a wavy pattern like you have around the blooms? I haven’t resined anything yet, just varnish, but please relay a brief message on how to do that. (I did scroll through your titles to see if resin was in them, but didn’t see one.)
@@Jeannine754 hi Jeannine, I don’t tape it off. I really resin around the edges and it does take a little bit of practice to get it down. I will be releasing a video this week that shows a little bit how I do it because it is a cutting board that I basically salvaged from the trash because my resin was horrible, and I’m gonna share that with everybody. So basically all I do is lay the resin around how I have it cut out and let it cure. Sometimes a little tricky as you’ll see the upcoming video. Actually, I have a short coming out as a teaser in about three minutes.
@@Jeannine754 yes thanks, one of the earlier fusions. Sometimes the hardest part of the fusion is how to set it up so that you can resin it, unless about the actual resident process itself. I find the fusion pieces are easier than the cutting boards.
