Thank you so much, Amy, there are a lot of fun. I do it differently than a lot of people with the paint skins, and as I mentioned about Resining i’ve been through the road of hard knocks to get what I got. I do offer personalized tutorials. If you wanted to have me make you a specific video tutorial for that I can tell you what I’ve learned so far, the nuances after doing about 15 of these.
@@LouiseMcKayArt I completely understand. What you’ve shared so far is extremely helpful! Xo

Absolutely gorgeous thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful evening. I love Australia floral for it’s wonderful, but it is very expensive so whenever somebody’s around and they want give me some do and I appreciate it because it is so expensive.
Thank you, Don, I hear about the Australian Floetrol but seeing how I inherited this, I really feel like I need to use it. It’s going to be five years.😂 I’m glad you enjoyed my tutorial and have a great weekend😘😘😘

Me again. The kitten I rescued at the park is full grown and is quite the flyer. My wife named her Silence, and she is living up to her name. She is not very vocal. But when she does, she has this absolutely adorable little voice! She is always good for a happy smile. At least I had something sweet and adorable to make me feel better.
@@TheParkAttendant hey Ozwald, I’d love to see this kitten who is a flyer. As soon as I read that all I thought about was flying squirrels. So silence is stealthy, until she has to make a point.🐱 and then I bet it’s all the cat’s meow!
Outstanding collection Louise 😮 What’s the count on coasters ! You should have a contest one day on the count! 😁 you’re amazing!
@@ItsArtByDonna thank you so much Donna, I always appreciate your comments and your support. I don’t understand your question. What’s the count on coasters? Luv you😘
@@LouiseMcKayArt How many total coasters have you made to date...I was sure I heard you say it before, but it would be a good contest to do, like how many marbles in the jar kind of contest...would be kind of an interesting challenge one day!😘 PS love that you're not saving every drop of paint anymore...I was shocked to see that paper towel pick up the extra's🤫I forgot to mention it yesterday, I was typing on my phone, and being lazy😘 I love you!
@@ItsArtByDonna oh, well I have no idea because I have over 90 on my playlist, but I was making them long before I even had a RUclips channel. I think I bought at least seven boxes of tiles at 100 per so I gave you some idea over the course of time. OK you got me again, paper towel pick up the extras?
@@LouiseMcKayArt I personally bought 2 boxes of tiles 😁 but I still have about half a box left so not that many for me! I would imagine so for you WOWOWOW....and the paper towels🤣🤣🤣 makes me laugh! I can't help it Louise, I know it's bothering you😘🥰
I live in Winston Salem. I would to get some of the magic juice from you.
@@beverlyjarrell7508 well I’m here in Asheville. I’d rather give some of this away before it goes bad if it does go bad….
love all of these! classic Louise color pallet! 😊 Does it matter if you use gloss vs matte varnish as a glue for your skins?
Thank you, 😘Kim, yes I do love this pallet for sure. Honestly I don’t think it matters what kind of varnish you use, you probably can even use mod podge, but I like the varnish because it lays so nice and flat.
@@LouiseMcKayArt thanks for letting me know it shouldn’t matter. Have a great weekend 🎉
Love this!!!! Where are you in NC? I'm in Whitsett (near Greensboro)! I'll buy some of that Australian floetrol off your hands lol 🤣 Love your work!! ❤
Hi Tara, thank you so much 😘💙I’m in Asheville, NC you’re welcome to the excess AU if you really want some!
@@LouiseMcKayArt I'm in Greensboro (well Whitsett actually) but nobody knows where that is lol..I would love to come get some floetrol seriously......I was also wondering if you would help me figure out how much epoxy resin to use on my first homemade lazy Susan for my hubby ha!? It's 18" round & 1" thick. Real raw piece of wood from home Depot 😂I've tried the online calculators but I'm just confused bc the resin came with ML not ounces...help please!! You're the master at this!! I would also love to take one of your classes! Do you ever give any in Asheville?? Thank you in advance for any help you will give me. 😊
@@taramorra9572 thank you so much, Tara, you’re welcome to get any of the Australian if you want it! Seriously I have plenty more than I’ll ever need or use before It goes bad.
As far as resin, you have to figure out what your mileage is depending on what resin you use. Maybe I need to do a class on this as well. I started figuring out what my resin mileage is with coasters. I primarily work in milliliters too. I started out by making sets of coasters and using 15 mL as my initial measurement per coaster. Coasters are easy because they are square. Always have a few extras so if you have extra, you have more coasters you can coat. Then you’ll be able to figure out what your mileage is based on what you actually can cover. Mileage is how many square inches of material you can cover given so many ounces or milliliters of resin. For me I usually plan on 5 ounces or 150 mL for 15” lazy Susan, but don’t take that as gospel. It depends on how you do it, and what resin you’re using. The only classes I’ve ever taught were the fluid art boutique in Washington DC. I have not taught any classes here in Asheville, I have not pursued it.
Can you tell me if you can use your pillow paint in you pouring medium with the Min Wax Gloss Varnish? Trying to determine the difference in the 2 house paints. I just love you videos! I have learned so much from them and Im still learning!! I catch myself, when posting in FB groups, wanting to say "Well Louise says........" Lol!
@@ohcheap1 no, simply put. The pillow paint has titanium white in it and it will make your colors pastel. That’s why you’re pouring medium paint has to be a base 3 or base C which means it does not have any color in it. Your paint becomes the color additive. Please share my name, help me grow and help others!😉friends and family too!
@@LouiseMcKayArt OOOOoooooo..... I always thought pillow was straight from the can and was a base 3 as well. Thats what Ive been doing. Well there you have it. I learned something new!
@@ohcheap1 look at the cans, the untinted paints (for pm) are base 3 or c , the Valspar 833124 or Glidden 6311N or Behr 8300 base3 or C
@@ohcheap1 btw, pillow is straight from can, but not for Pm.
@@LouiseMcKayArt I have been using base 3 for both. I will alter that and see what results I get. Thanks.
If I spin too fast could that make my cells wonky? I have the consistencies correct…. Idk if I’m using too much pillow, or paint? It’s stretching too much.
@@susanbrocksmith4255 absolutely Susan, that’s why I always say, especially on my Lazy Susan’s, let it develop slow. Don’t spend too fast because they will absolutely get wonky and if I see things getting wonky, I stop. It also could mean you’re putting too much pillow paint down because if you keep spinning it to stretch the paint off you may have started with too much to start with, my thoughts. Good luck.
Thank you! What do you have coaster sitting on that doesn't fly off?
Thank you Margarate, good question, I have an 8 ounce yogurt cup flipped upside down on top of the Lazy Susan spinner. I’ve had a lot of people ask me the same question. If you want to see, I have a three minute video of how I have it set up.
ruclips.net/video/5njiBXOop6U/видео.htmlsi=rbfdbFGsvrTq58ty
Do you add anything on top of the acrylic pain after it dries?
Yes, I resined it with KS Resin
I have a ticker house paint. Can I use it or do I add water to it?
@@elisabethvassbotn1043 well I guess it depends on how thick. I’m usually looking for about a four second trace when I drizzle it off the stick into the container. You can add some water or some Floetrol to it if it’s running heavier than that.
@@LouiseMcKayArt thank you for the answer ☺️
Your day is creative, and mine is destructive, weeds that is. I think I would prefer one of your days, and unleash my imagination go wild.
Ran afoul of a hornet nest today. They built it in one of the pavilions, and that's not a good thing. I drenched it at a distance with Spectracide, I'll be darned if one didn't fly the 20 feet and nail me in the back. I had forgotten how bad a hornet's sting was. I had to stay close to chase people off, and watch as the straglers came back to land on the Spectracide, and drop to the cement.
@@TheParkAttendant holy cow or should I say holy hornets. I’ve read somewhere that if you go after them at dusk, that’s the best time, probably less people around as well. Sorry you had to get stung, Take one for the team, but I can see you needed to to keep others safe. The last thing someone needed who was allergic to bees is to get stung. Wow you have quite a day at times.
Are you near Raleigh, North Carolina?
