I love Deoxys simply because it's sort of "The Thing" of Pokemon, it's a ruthless sweeper or an untrippable tank, or an adaptive beast, but it always has a massive weakness that its victims can attack if they want any hope of killing it, sweet design that really compliments its playstyle.
The idea of not being able to tell what Deoxys form you're facing in a GBA battle is terrifying to me, especially with no Team Preview. It's seems like how people expected Zoroark Illusion to be when people were first speculating about that.
Deoxys constantly adapting is much like a virus mutating to become harder to get rid of, which I think is a really cool coincidence considering Deoxys' orign

I found Deoxys very cool 😎 when I saw the pokemon movie, and basically turn me into a deoxys fan and recently I came back to pokemon because of nostalgia and I haven't been into pokemon for the past 7 years. Deoxys is still one of my favorite pokemon for being a awesome alien 👽 design and for being a jack of all trade stats. My favorite version of Deoxys is definitely Defense because I love the tanky juggernaut design, he looks like he is in a suit of armor and his flat arms acts like strong 💪 shield 🛡
Good old Gen V Deoxys D. That was a fun time. No hazard setter could counter it (besides Excadrill) and every other spinners besides Excadrill were easily taken care of by coverage, pursuit trapping, and Dugtrio. Too bad no other hazard setter since has been capable of doing what Deoxys D could do. Defog and heavy duty boots nullify the existence of hazards but everyone still remembers Deoxys time in OU. Here's hoping it returns to OU once again in a future gen.
When I first saw Deoxys sprite back when RuSa was datamined I thought it is a strange monkey with really stupid design. The official artwork was better but I still did not like it. When Emerald was released and the forms were introduced and that Deoxys is a DNA-shapeshifter I was amazed by it!
Ah, the alien that creeped the absolute crap out of me in the ORAS Delta Episode… That I one-shot with a Dragon Ascent from the nuclear pool noodle. That was anticlimactic.
It still was good in gen7. Although very tricky to use, due to necrozma dm. It's psycho boost is basically a shattered psyche, so it was good on hyper offense.

I'm still surprised Deoxys wasn't allowed in VGC 2016. Every copy of Omega Ruby allowed you to catch one and monsters like the Primals and Mega Ray were allowed.

There's sadly no reason to use it over Attack form. Base form may technically be bulkier but only ever so slightly, in other words, the difference is minuscule to the point it might be nonexistant.

Klefki has arguably one of the best defensive typings in steel/fairy, and prankster.... Deoxys-D I feel suffers the same plight as shuckle, monstrous defences with a meager Health Pool... imo Deoxys-D would have been a much better contender if they reduced his offensive stats from 70-->35 and increased his base HP from 50-->110 because no-one was using him for offence anyways....I wonder what a mega form of deoxys would look like? 😅

Vanilla Deoxys is pretty interesting to me. It might be the best bad Pokémon of all time. It is undeniably incredible in battle. But it has a form that’s just the exact same thing but better. I can’t tell if that was cruel or brilliant.

Also, a note on not retesting any deoxys form. Doexys-Defense is currently UU in natdex, albeit it an unoffical format, seeing as how it competes with mew as a bulky spikes stacking psychic type, and with the introduction of heavy duty boots to relieve the pressure to keep hazards off the field, it's less oppressive than ever.
@@geometrydashtzolkin1025 I doubt it. It's a godlike hazard setter + that ridiculous speed stat enables it to run viable np sets. On top of that there's a set of taunt, cosmic power, recover, night shade that'd probably be a little too busted with hazard support. Realistically it's the closest to not being busted though (besides deo d)

Deoxys has a special place in my heart. It's the reason I remember that DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid. Worthless information for someone like me, but I still think that's pretty cool. It's also still up there as one of my favorite pokemon. Being the rival of my absolute favorite, rayquaza, made it one of the coolest when I was growing up.
When there is an entire meta-game designed around using one variation of your OP Pokemon to hard counter the version that you think your opponent is packing, you know you've truly created a monster.
This Pokemon has my favorite battle theme of them all. It's got just the right blend of awesome and surreal to be a soundtrack I always come back to, both in Firered/Leafgreen/Emerald and in ORAS.
I really like all of the animations for Deoxys in Gen 4. Especially Speed and Attack. Attack's idle animation is just flailing its limbs around like "I'm gonna be doing this now. If you get hit, it's your fault." Speed's attack animation has it whip twice and then do "spooky wiggly arms".
As a kid I always thought the point of Deoxys-Normal was having balanced stats. You know, 100 in all stats like Mew or something similar. But I guess GF's concept of "Normal" was "Attack but worse."
What I'd like to see in terms of Deoxys buffs are new abilities. Deoxys is from a time where they gave Pressure to most Ubers instead of Intrepid Sword, Shadow Shield, and Fairy aura, so now I present: new Deoxys form abilities: Base form: Protean Attack form: Sheer Force Defense form: Regenerator Speed form: Sturdy

@@gamesnig Not likely, actually. The Pokemon that are in the Ubers tier are extremely powerful, and having base 50 in any stat is already considered to be bad at best in any other tier. To put it into perspective: Deoxys Defense has a base 50 HP, and isn't even considered to be a good defensive Pokemon anymore, so what good do you REALLY think that the extra base 30 in it's defensive stats makes that big of a difference?

Also, a note on not retesting any deoxys form. Doexys-Defense is currently UU in natdex, albeit it an unoffical format, seeing as how it competes with mew as a bulky spikes stacking psychic type, and with the introduction of heavy duty boots to relieve the pressure to keep hazards off the field, it's less oppressive than ever.
None of its other forms will ever be tested in National Dex (speaking as a ND council member)

@@geometrydashtzolkin1025 I doubt it. It's a godlike hazard setter + that ridiculous speed stat enables it to run viable np sets. On top of that there's a set of taunt, cosmic power, recover, night shade that'd probably be a little too busted with hazard support. Realistically it's the closest to not being busted though (besides deo d)
I used in natdex too, in this last couple of months it really fell off. It is still a great tank and has teleport

Deoxys has a special place in my heart. It's the reason I remember that DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid. Worthless information for someone like me, but I still think that's pretty cool. It's also still up there as one of my favorite pokemon. Being the rival of my absolute favorite, rayquaza, made it one of the coolest when I was growing up.

This Pokemon has my favorite battle theme of them all. It's got just the right blend of awesome and surreal to be a soundtrack I always come back to, both in Firered/Leafgreen/Emerald and in ORAS.
I really like all of the animations for Deoxys in Gen 4. Especially Speed and Attack. Attack's idle animation is just flailing its limbs around like "I'm gonna be doing this now. If you get hit, it's your fault." Speed's attack animation has it whip twice and then do "spooky wiggly arms".

As a kid I always thought the point of Deoxys-Normal was having balanced stats. You know, 100 in all stats like Mew or something similar. But I guess GF's concept of "Normal" was "Attack but worse."

What I'd like to see in terms of Deoxys buffs are new abilities. Deoxys is from a time where they gave Pressure to most Ubers instead of Intrepid Sword, Shadow Shield, and Fairy aura, so now I present: new Deoxys form abilities:
Base form: Protean
Attack form: Sheer Force
Defense form: Regenerator
Speed form: Sturdy
Maybe huge power instead for attack form and battle armor for d-defense since it makes more sense as deoxys defense is covered in it's armor

@@Skullhawk13 true huge power is op but isn't battle armor good tho since it allows you to spam calm mind/cosmic power without worrying that a critical strike would just pierce through it or a critical strike putting you into kill range since recover won't heal enough?
@@eclipse2587there are no high crit rate moves used in uber, nor pokemon with super luck. On average regenerator or pressure would be better

How about the idea of each Deo form getting getting their own separate typing? Like deoxys-d becoming a steel type or deoxys-s becoming electric, etc.
I think Deo-A Gets the ice type (best offensive type) Deo-N gets Normal (of course) Deo-D gets steel (Best defensive type and Deo-S gets electric (Fastest type from an average standpoint)

@@gamesnig Not likely, actually. The Pokemon that are in the Ubers tier are extremely powerful, and having base 50 in any stat is already considered to be bad at best in any other tier. To put it into perspective: Deoxys Defense has a base 50 HP, and isn't even considered to be a good defensive Pokemon anymore, so what good do you REALLY think that the extra base 30 in it's defensive stats makes that big of a difference?

12:40 this might be the saddest thing to ever happen to a Pokemon. Imagine never seeing play but unable to drop down to a lower tier for being too strong. And to add salt to injury, it was due to yourself in a different form. Being normal sucks
I remember that when I was 7, there was a playgroung rumor of a Deoxys Kings that has the attack, defense and speed of the other forms.
