The Odysseus needs a bit more work although it's already a cool watch, but I think they're too different with the RO, Nautilus and Overseas, I wouldn't compare them per say.
The 1815 Chrono with the black dial in white gold is my absolute grail. It’s probably the best looking movement, plus the rest of the watch is stunning too 😂

The Dato is cool, but I tried it on, and I found it unbearably heavy. Even the rose gold Dato was too heavy for me. Yet the 1815 chrono felt great (much lighter), so then and there I decided that the 1815 chrono is more my style.

Datograph is too big & heavy for most wrists. Instead go with the 1815 Chronograph. Same beautiful movement, but without the date function. It’s a better size and a more balanced watch on the wrist. People may consider Patek chronograph dials to be more aesthetically pleasing, but Lange makes a far superior movement as well as a far better overall build quality.

The Datograph is the most collectable watch any true collector would want in their collection. This Lumen version makes it untouchable. Lange is competing against Lange in terms of watch making. I can only dream of having this watch....
TBH In some way they are better than Journe. I have heard of some unreliability issues with Journes from fellow watch collectors; not sure if true. Because Journe uses proprietary screws no one can service the watches except Journe. Therefore the wait list from the Service dept is like 1 year or over.

Yes Marko... that's what we are talking about!! A serious chronograph, for me one of the top 3 in the world. The back is as beautiful as the front. We have had this conversation before and my top 3 chronographh in no particular order patek phillippe 5790, ALS Datograph and the ALS 1815 flyback chrono....

Definitely, one of the best chronograph ever made in my opinion. The lumens are even more special and beautiful as they are even more useful day and night. I wouldn't mind creating a VR experience for ALS for that movement :D
Tripple split for me, please :) Between this version of Datograhp and DB Dynamo watch that you showed us the other day, I would take DB hands down (on the coolness aspect of it although I think horology-wise this piece might carry more chops
Great video - and a stunning piece of horology. You asked if there is another watch that competes with it in terms of finish and function. In my mind, the Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph is just outstanding - the movement is just gorgeous, and it's functionally amazing. I will grant that it is not quite at the same level of finish as the Datograph, but it's also about a third of the price. (I realize that price isn't necessarily the driver in these cases.) Just my $.02, since you asked! Thanks for a great review!

I think that the Montblanc chronographs with the Minerva movements are a great alternative to the chronographs by ALS at a significantly lower price-point. I'd love to see a video on the Minerva chronograph on your channel put up against an ALS chronograph. German vs German- swiss made.
This watch is a cost of a great GT car or a house. Compared to ST19 (Venus 175) for a price of a great meal I`m disappointed couple of things. The date window has 2 levels which is weak. Looks like L&S have limits in engineering. In your video where the datograph is under the microscope I`ve noticed a flows you didn`t mention. Dirt spots on the dial and dots on the indexes lume. Scratches on the blue screws because of using wrong screwdriver.
I owned two Dato's the 38mm and the new 41mm and while they look great they are garbage on functionality. I would never trade my Patek 5170 for it, let alone the good old 5070. Again, very appealing to the eyes but not for wear...

Great for dinner or for show to your friends, but don't wear them daily, erratic timekeeping, and mechanical issues!In Blumlein's time they were better, but after Richemont... BTW, Lange is not the only brand that ensembles the movements twice! Very high horology brand does it for centuries,(AP, Patek, Vacheron). Don't believe the Hype, do the research...

Lange is my grail brand. I love the Odysseus. It was born to dethrone the big 3, royal oak, nautilus and overseas.
