Gow 1,the ares boss fight was a pain but still fun.

god of war 2 has the be the best cliffhanger I’ve seen in either film or game, I can’t imagine having to wait all those years to battle the gods of olympus
The build up and speculation was amazing, especially after God of war 3 was shown at e3

The ending of GOW2018 was simply powerful, faye was with kratos and Atreus throughout their journey once everything is revealed and the bond between Kratos and Atreus was strengthened they spread her ashes in the realm where she belongs. And the cherry on top was the Thor reveal.

Agreed though 2018 is the only gow game I’ve played so i don’t feel the emotional impact of the previous games as someone who actively played and enjoyed the story
God of war probably has one of the greatest cliffhanger ending in not just Gow franchise but the entire video game history
God of war 3 for me personally is my favourite finale as it is a finale for the Greek trilogies

nah Chains of Olympus' ending has depth you don't understand how much Kratos sacrificed just to save everything.

@@Theboredgod the thing with red dead is that there was like a 8 year gap between them so they had more time to put stuff into it, ragnarok just felt kinda pushed out tbh.

Gow 1 and 2 ending is unmatched. Ascension ending should be in top 4. The game may not liked by many but it's ending was truly amazing. Gow 4 ending at top feels wrong

God of war 3 is my top1 fav ending, really felt like greek era ending, gow 2 top2, gow 1 top3, gow ghost top 4
The most epic God Of War ending was at the end if God Of War 2.
To me honestly it was chains of Olympus. And ghost of Sparta also accession because he's more human or you could say more normal woth emotion
Ragnarok has my favorite ending in the franchise thus far and I also love GoW 2 and 2018 as well.

I'm sorry what ? Kratos learned that Zeus was his father from Athena ? Uh no. He learned it from his mother in ghost of Sparta not from Athena , even from the audience perspective since Zeus tells you that you're his son as he was stabbing Kratos with the blade, and listen we should stop the Gow 4 worshiping cuz it's getting out of hand like yes the ending was great but does it scale the the Gow 2 ending ? Listen I know it's sort of subjective opinion but not ranking the Gow 2 ending over the rest objectively wrong for the community, the cliff hanger alone puts it above everything else yes Gow 4 has the Thor cliff hanger but it's incomparable to Kratos going back in time and bringing all the titans before they were killed, climbing the mountain to Olympus seeking revenge
To be fair the writers screwed up the Zues reveal. They weren't planning on making Ghost of Sparta at the time so Athena revealing Zues as Kratos' father in GOW2 is still better than the reveal in Ghost of Sparta.
Plus GOW2 ending was good. Until you played GOW3 and that build up was wasted with the Titans getting effortlessly slaughtered by the gods. As far as people loving the ending of 2018 its fine. I mean it teases a fight a lot of people want to see and storywise its effective because it holds a lot of tension. Because its showing how Kratos was right about the consequences of killing a God. And if you know the myths about Thor you know he means business and that there's a chance Kratos might lose the fight. Big thing fans tend to forget is that Kratos is strong, but isn't immortal. He struggled against Baldur by himself and Baldur wasn't all that powerful compared to Thor. Now if GOW Ragnarok follows through with the battle between Kratos and Thor I think we can consider that ending the better one.
@@PhantomBones101 that's great but do you know what's the problem? Zeus revealed himself as Kratos's father in early game when he was stabbing you so it makes Athena's reveal weightless
God of war 1 was my top 2 favourite ending cuz of Kratos becoming the new god of war and him sitting

So gow 1 is better than 2,3,coo (chains of Olympus),gos (ghost of sparta) and ascension.

You made it a popilularity contest,GoW 2018 is by far one of the weakest entries,as it changes Kratos way to much,so much that he isnt the same Kratos from the GoW 1,2,3 . But still not so major as they changed the whole game,the camera,the controlls,the combat,it doesnt feel like GoW game anymore.

And also your whole thing about “but u like garbage games” I bet you have only ever played gow 4 or you could just hate the games nothing wrong with that but not even playing the games and calling them garbage is a little unfair don’t you think (then again you could have possibly played as I said). One last thing this is just my ranking of the endings not how good the games are gow 4 would easily land in the 3rd spot if that were the case.

Um no. God Of War 2 has the best ending especially over the 2018 reboot.
I've played all of them and from the first one I was hooked the anticipation for the next was terrible and terrific at the same time but the ending of gow2 was the great and everyone was soo excited for gow3 even though it took a WHILE....I just want to see the older Kratos go full on young kratos for a while because when he was younger oooo man he was frightening...theres a reason all feared the Ghost of Sparta

C'mon! It's like the person who made this list didn't played the full history while growing up or something. Everyone must agree that GOW2 has one of the best cliffhanger in all gaming history! Followed by the end of GOW3. Putting the 2018 GOW in first place is almost a crime.
