yall see that trailer lift up when that crane lifted that 47k pound coil off that trailer ....I was impressed ...🤷🏻♂️
Glad you like the new shower facilities. I actually did all of the plumbing for that building. Really like working with Mercer.
Thanks Dan, Teresa, Baily, coordinator and viewers.
That big coil sure took the arch out of your trailer!
7:16 wow that Dorsey trailer appreciated getting that load off!
Wow Dan that Pete looked like he wasn't going to stop when you were backing in to the warehouse. Hope all is well with you and Bailey.
That was almost a ‘Bonehead Trucker’ moment
@@jamessimms415 You got that right.
Love the music towards the end of the video with the sun rising. Safe travels
At the 6:49 mark I thought that guy was going to hit you!😮
He did appear to be traveling a little too fast. He did stop in plenty of time though.
Don’t think they had much choice but to stop…you should always give way to someone reversing as they may not see you especially if it’s a large vehicle 🫤
Mercer treats their guys right. Haven't heard any bad things about them. Stay safe Dan and Bailey.
@Demoturds really ? Hell I must need to immediately shut the truck down and go do another eye exam for my physical then cause I don't remember seeing stuff like that but very rare in certain lanes
You must not have heard about First In/First Out lol 😂
Thanks for the video, Dan. I learn a bit, every time. Even though I'm 7 or 8000 miles away, I can always get back in touch with my country, a mile or two at a time every video. Drive safe and give Bailey a belly rub and an ear scratch for me.
Beautiful sunrise. One of the perks of driving.
Always a pleasure to watch. The positive power of a nice bathroom is universal. Keep grinding. Stay safe. Dogs Rule!
Mercer definitely went all out on that facility, that makes a big difference. Takes some of the sting out of the CODB as an O/O.
Steel Dynamics has their structural and rail division in Columbia City, Indiana
Welcome back my friend and Bailey and you guys have a wonderful week coming up
Tough tough work but you always have complements for people. Hope business picks up soon. Thanks so much for taking time producing videos for us.
That was amazing how they picked up the coil like it was nothing.
Nice dramatic music with the rising sun, Dan. Unfortunately with the red-sky-at-morning, i'm guessing this was when the storms were rolling through the mid-west... Red-sky-at-night is the best!
You're really good at pairing the music with your video. I enjoyed it.
Travel safe, Dan!!! Thanks for the video.
Your radio voice has a Smokey and the Bandit vibe to it.
Dan I always enjoy your videos. You always have a positive attitude.
Tarping coils is as easy as putting sneakers on a Chicken!😏👍
Safe Travels. Love❤Miss Bailey. Give her a hug, smooches, and scratches behind each ear.
Another enjoyable video Dan..👍🏻 Safe Travels to you... And use all the hot water you want 😊
Baby Coils Grow Up and become something Cool. Variety of Items made from Coils is Endless. Thanks for Hauling our Goods/Sacrifices from Home. 👍🙏
The memories of the road are really revived with this video! Thanks from this old guy!
Are you a Ham radio operator in Brazil by chance??? The PY6RW next to your name looks familar?.
73's from K6HZH Arizona!⚡️🎙⚡️
Another great video brother from the 113 degree imperial county California 👍👍🇺🇲
SuperdogBailey always knows when it’s time to load or unload.
Drive safe.
They used to bring those coils to me for processing good old days
Hello Mr Dan & crew!!!! Safe travels & SUPER SUCCESSFUL TRUCKIN
Great videos ,,I like the way you show what being a truck driver over the road life really is.
that is one big coil , dorsey trailer has no problem
Every place that ships by truck should have instructions that they can email to the driver. It looked like they had a map of the facility that they gave you which is good. It's so easy to print one from Google Earth.
I waved while you were near us at Steel Dynamics in Columbus. Keep safe out there!
That shower is way nicer than the broom closets they got over at the driver's lounge
Nice shower house. You guys deserve the best. You & Bailey stay safe. Glad you are getting some loads. Great video.
Good lord, I'd be lost in that steel place. If they are working and lots of trucks, it is what it is. If they are jacking around that gets next to me. Have you ever gotten somewhere and they wouldn't let you dog in?
I saw you down at Red Bud Friday whenever I was down there to load holler at you on the CB I guess you had it shut off Love a channel been a subscriber and viewer since before you park the white 386
Another good ride with a paying load. Drive on Dan and be safe.
Sometime talk about the CB radio time when everyone had one and the current time.
Looks like you may have gotten into some of that rough weather in the Midwest? Hope all was good. Be safe
My daughter and son both trained at the AF Base in Columbus, MI....
I seen you the other day on Thursday in Illinois going into Granite city
Thanks Dan. Always good. Blessings
Thanks Dan
Another good one Dan KEEP ON TRUCKIN 👍 🇺🇲 🚛 🐘
You were in my neck of the woods,Columbus Ms.
i remember hauling out 3 aluminum coils on pallets out of a place in the boonies, in Kentucky for a delivery to a newspaper warehouse in Denver. i remember, just to be on the safe side, cause the doors would be sealed, i placed a load lock on each pallet then 2 on the last one. didnt want them moving when going up or down mtn passes. think the load was like 42-44k with a truck with no guts, it was a hard, tiring pull till i got to the flat lands.
Dan Dan the professional flat deck man. Loved the music. Boy those facilities at Mercer’s secret lot were really nice. Mercer does take care of you guys. But then you guys do take care of Mercer. Your unit looks really good Dan. Very professional looking. Thanks for posting. Your trailer handled the 42000 in 10 feet really well. Dorsey makes a strong trailer. Well Dan you have a great and a safe day. Happy trails and happy motoring..
It's interesting to watch your videos and see you've been to a couple customers of mine (TMW in Red Bud, IL and Outokumpu in Calvert, AL). I wonder if your trip to Blytheville will take you to Ryerson, which will complete a hat trick for me.
You should get yourself a portable tailgate-style gas grill for when you're staying at Mercertown or similar you can grill up some steaks while you're parked.
I had a Hibachi that was awesome, left it out to cool off and someone stole it, lol.
@@genefogarty5395 I eat out at restaurants every day, but I'm not a truck driver anymore.
@@drmidnight680-kz2le I'm local now, driving sand and gravel and making way more of a paycheck. But we still bbq at the yard after work sometimes. As far as restaurants, I have one I go to monthly for Greek food and another for killer Italian that I just can't come close to making. But other than that, I cook B.L.D. at home, same with a thermos of coffee every day. Saves me a ton of cash, I can cook a REAL good nutritious meal for me, my girl and my brother for thirty bucks. And me and my brother are both big eaters, he's small at 6'3" 230, lol. Even my GF eats a bunch for being tiny, but we both take leftovers for lunch to save money. Maybe when I retire I'll be more into restaurants, but I like cooking my food exactly how I like it. I've only got that at a few places, and it costs 45-60 bucks per person. I'm saving for a second house on the lake, meals are a big part of making that happen.
Get some rest Dan u deserve it. Hope your doing ok
Great video and have a safe trip God bless from GA stay safe
Thanks for your time Dan very interesting to see how you operate and the problem and situation you have to cope with
Stay safe 🌵🇬🇧👍
Keep it working 👍🇺🇸
U look tired Dan but that normal after end of the day. 😂😂😂
I used to load pipe out of Blytheville.
I beams too
Welcome to the South where most everyone is friendly
Thanks dan, love the videos
I had 3 new ih trucks in 83 through 87. We struggled to average 1.00 per mile. Jimmy Carter time. Trucks were 62000 each. Accounting for inflation 1dl is equal to 3.00. Some things never change for the better.
false
Great Dan give em hell
Dan, with Yellow Freight closing their doors will you have more work?
Yellow was all LTL dry van. Most of their customers have been picked up by other large LTL carriers like XPO, etc. It won’t affect flatbeds one way or the other.
Great video just wanted to know what you do when your tarps are all wet
You going to replace your mirror signal lights to LED? Might be a nice little touch, maybe even just the bulb
Columbus ms is my home 🙂
Mercer appears to be a top notch company and takes care of its employees
All those coils stored outside but they have to be tarped.
U were in my hometown
You always seem to take great care in making sure your tarps are done correctly. What is the ramification if when you remove the tarp at the delivery site and the coil had gotten wet?
Did you have an option on how to load the steel coil in MS. At TMC no suicide loaded…
Dan, do you ever get up to Helena MT? Got a friend up there. Dave from OZ
That lot is not top secret any longer....😎
What CB do you have? Love your videos!!!
👍
It's interesting to see how much the trailer settles/rises when the loads are put on or taken off.
They're designed to flex so they don't sag in the middle. That's why most aluminum skateboards are arch up in the center!!!!
Some of it's the pre stressed arch in the main beams and some is suspension being compressed. But yeah, it's a lot of centralized weight. One of the reasons I never liked hauling coil.
I'm sure taking a shower where you can stretch out felt good!
Unfortunately Freight is Slow and Prices are Low as you know well. 👎
TMW was a great place to load or reload ……. The had 5or6 showers before it got trashed by steering wheel holders
⭐️⭐️⭐️
you should have gone to thr hor rod nationals at the expo center your lttle truck
Certainly do not get treated so fine in UK.
BE SAFE TRUST JESUS ☝️
What’s the best year 379?
Good Gawd Dan don't see how you understood those folks at Steel Dynamics.
🇺🇲 🚛 💨 💨 💨
Can’t believe that Yellow Roadway Trucking is History. Both of those Companies Individually were in Business since I was a Kid. Drivers Lost Most.👎🙏
🥪🇺🇸👍
Welcome to the friendly south. Where the women are beautiful, Sweet Tea, Grits, fried chicken and watermelon. What’s not to like?
When you were backing up with the coil, you almost hit the tractor trailer thst was speeding in the parking who didn’t want to wait for you
Unfortunately, that's what's wrong with so many of these steering wheel holders!!!! They speed thru parking lots & loading/unloading areas
I thought the other truck almost hit Dan🫢
:)
hey da /thats not good song/ha ha
I know people are always on you for the way you say city names so please take this with a laughing spirit... its not Blytheville.... its "bly-vule"
