Hi Brenda Stolecki. I don't use Baking Powder in my Hot Water Cornbread. I think you're referring to Cornstarch, that's what's used as a thickener. Thanks for stopping by. Be blessed!
Baking these for 20 mins at 250 degrees, then another 40 mins at 450 degrees... our wings were BURNT and smoked up the house. My oven rack was in the middle which is where it sits for most items baked. Maybe its a typo. I've baked my wings with baking powder, salt, pepper & ancho chile pepper slowly at 250 degrees for 30 mins, then turned the oven to 400 degrees for only 10 minutes to add to the crispness. They were always perfect. I won't over bake them as this recipe calls for again. (My guest still ate them though.)
Hi Lidi P, thanks for stopping by my channel and trying one of my recipes. I'm so sorry you had a problem with your wings. I reviewed the description and realized there was a typo, it should have been 425, like I did it on the video. I hope this doesn't keep you from coming back! I'm going to change it right now! Be blessed!
Awww Thomas Johnson, I'm so sorry your wings didn't turn out for you! Im sure you were quite disappointed! To be honest, I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry. I do know, though, all ovens are different which could've been a possible reason for the flop! Again, I'm sorry! I hope this won't keep you from checking out lore videos on my channel. Thanks for stopping by, trying a video and leaving a comment. Be blessed!
Wait... you showed us the wings fully seasoned...but the ones you put in the oven after you showed us the seasoned wings....were pale and didn't look like they were seasoned!!
Hello Narvelan Coleman, the answer to your question is lighting. There's obviously no lighting going from the counter to the stove. Now, are you planning to try them, or just searching RUclips to be a critic? Anyway, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. You be blessed!
Once I heard that crunch at the end, I KNEW this was the perfect recipe for me😂👍🏽Great video
Aww...you're so welcome! The crunch is everything! Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! Be Blessed!
Oven fried and crispy too! Look great. Going to try with some drumsticks! Thanks
Yes ZW, they are quite crispy! Thanks for stopping by!
These came out so good. I never knew the secret ingredient was the baking powder. I see someone is from Texas, with those HEB spices 😀
Hi Sampson Ikpo, I'm glad you enjoyed the wings! Yes, I am in Texas! Thanks for stopping by my channel, I hope to hear from you again soon! ☺️
Will try soon.
Awesome video! I love your descriptions! Cheers!
Aww thank you Don McDonald, I appreciate you stopping by my channel and leaving your comment. Be blessed!

Hey Rey Nolds, thanks for stopping by my channel and leaving a comment. When you try them, I hope you like them! Be Blessed!
Instead of Baking Powder, you can use corn flour, the white powder used as a thickener.

I baked 30 minutes at 425 (after 20 minutes at 250) and the wings were overdone, burned in spots.

Wow if you cannot smell food BURNING then you have no one to blame but yourself. Common sense has to be applied when cooking.
So y’all don’t have instinct
