Hello!! In Argentina, stock ¨Falcon Sprint ´74-´82¨, with 221Cu.In., and cast iron head, with multiple intake, and Holley 2brl of 40mm (I estimate no more 350cfm), got 170hp. With THIS head, and ignition, but, better exhaust, probably find the 250hps, but, this type of head used only in TC (Turismo Carretera) competitión, fabricated here, ONLY for this racer cars. With these heads, and 188 cu.in, at 9.000 rpm generates more than 300hp!!! But, not got these torque!! Beautyfull gob man! Greatings
@CORPORATELECTROO We still haven't made it to a dyno. We estimate it added somewhere around 75 hp to the engine. The stock engine puts out ab out 75 rear wheel hp. With the head and all the other mods we've done, we're somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 hp right now.
Wow, that was 12 years ago. The company that made the header is long gone and that car was sold to a new owner a while back. If you want to hear it go to this link: ruclips.net/video/3q11EJa6tkQ/видео.html But you might be a bit disappointed, it was still using the stock exhaust setup and sounded just like stock, but ran pretty rough.
Thank you for the kind words. I have a similar adapter to the one you describe on my 65 ragtop which let me bolt in a Weber carb. We got the head and intake from Classic Inlines. We also have an Arvinode exhaust system to install on it as soon as we get some time.
@halohadel Depending on the mods, some have attained 300+ HP on the Ford inline 6 cyl. That's with the aluminum head, a turbo or supercharger bolted on, 4bbl carb, cam & electronic distributor.
I want one of these cylinder heads so bad - I dont even think they're accepting orders at the moment because the waitlist got so long. This looks incredible.
It is my understanding that the man who made these has since passed away and any Rema stock has since been sold. There was someone who was trying to resurrect them but I'm not sure if that ever happened.
@@LRobaldo I think you're right mate. The fist guy was 'Classic Inlines' and the new guys are 'Vintage Inline'. Hoping they manage to sort out remaking these because I would love one.
Any exhaust header that fits the stock exhaust will fit this new head. However you do not need the port divider. This is a brand new completely redesigned head. All exhaust ports are separate and there is no need for a port divider.
No prob, and I used a cortico head gasket also purchased from classic inlines, stock thickness. No, I did not do the cam at the same time. That'll be a future upgrade sometime.
Ford Australia made in the early 1980s to late 1980s an Alloy Cleveland V8 style cantered valve head for the 200 and 250 ci six , it was multi point fuel injected in later. Models , it will bolt on any 144, 170, 188, 221, 200 or 250 ci Ford Six, runs Ford EEC lV ecu . They can be bought cheap at any aussie wrecking yard and freight to US is about $120 US . Parts are no problem in US for the head , it runs standard V8 Cleveland valves, springs, rockers . Rimg an Aussie wrecking yard they will have piles of them !
Hey all you people that have old mustang's Falcons comets ect and want to stiffen up the rearend check out Calvert racing cal tracks its a link suspension that works and its only around 375.00 easy to install I did mine in a weekend just bought another 63comet and am ordering another unit Calvert racing is in Lancaster ca I talked to travis kankirk hell of a nice and informative man
We thought about that, but unfortunately the "hood latch support bracket" runs from the top of the grill to the bottom of the radiator. It only has about 1/2" clearance between it an the radiator. We couldnt' figure out a way to eliminate the bracket witout resorting to hood pins which we do not want.
Looks great bro you spent the cash ! when vintage inlines start accepting orders again il be spending the cash also on that awesome head and manifold valve cover ect
Hi there I have just installed a OZ 2V head (very similar to your Classic Inlines head) on my 66 mustang 200 engine, I have re-used the original rocker arms, the car is running very poorly, I'm guessing it needs the valve lash set, did your engine run ok with the original rocker arms?? thanks Cameron
I haven't dynoed it yet, but it definitely put a jump in the seat of the pants feel! Most people I know who have dynoed theirs get between 40 & 75 increase in rear wheel HP from it, depending on what other mods their engine has. Considering that the stock engine puts out around 75 rear wheel hp, this head nearly doubles it!
I could use some help. I've got a 68 200ci inline and I'm planning on buying this head too. The engine block is stock. I'm a newbie to a lot of this so I need help understanding and getting the right C/R for my daily driver. Looking at charts my car has a cc of 51-53 and this head is at 51cc+/- 1. How do I account for the gasket etc? According to charts my C/R is 8.7:1 while they recommend 9:1.
I have the Aussie head...which sized automate 2100 did you use...I luckily picked up 5 of them for $50, and I'm thinking the 3.14 carb would be good. Still have to figure out the pushrod sizes.
Will this head allow me to hook up a Clifford Performance split header and weld in their 3rd & 4th port divider? Classic Inline's headers sound terrible compared to Clifford Petformance's.
So you do feel a noticeable difference from what you had prior? I'm working on doing the same thing you did, but with a 4V and some boost. Did you do anything to the bottom end?
I'm putting on the Australian head (which is the cast iron version of that cool aluminum ClassicInlines head). I'm going to use some adjustable rocker arms from a 170ci motor... how did you measure the pushrod length you needed?
I know this is late, but for anyone wondering... Snag an adjustabile pushrod. Repeatedly adjust and install until proper spec. Measure the final length then order a set of that length.
Soooo..how much power did you get? Does it sound different..you know the stock engine with the clifford headers gives those 200's that deep v8 sound..did that change?details please!!
Smart move studding the block. Kind of surprised someone put out an aftermarket aluminum head and didn't engineer it to be cross flow. Be nice to swap in a 300 inch Ford inline 6.
Theres a dude that split 2 gm "LS" heads and welded them together making a 6cyl head making it a cross flow head. Last update was last week or so... check it out!
Cool video I have a question did u buy the head from classic inlines, because I'm gonna do the same thing but they want to know the clearance and idk it's factory. So what did u do ?And what kind of head gasket did u run, that makes a difference n clearence too
that looks exceptionally good! I had a 66 mustang with the I6 200 cubic inches. way back then (26 yrs ago) I made an adapter from 1 1/4" aluminum plate and put that same carburetor on it. I had put a california turbo muffler on it. Everybody thought I had a 289. It would get rubber in second gear really really good. Where did you get the head and Intake, its awesome that there's aftermarket support for these now.
its from Classic Inlines. Unfortunately the owner of Classic Inlines passed away a couple of years ago. you can check with www.vintageinlines.com as it is my understanding that they have aquired the remaining assets from Classic Inlines.
Big dollar parts and improvements EVERYWHERE, but then you run it through a Stock "HotBox" header, instead of Extractors? All that power you could have made, would be CHOKING the engine, trying to escape. Should've saved some dough on your pretty rocker cover and bought a set of performance extractors.
So thankful you took the time to watch and leave insulting comments on a 12 YEAR OLD VIDEO. This was my son's project 12 years ago to do something DIFFERENT. If he wanted a V8 he would have bought one in the first place.
A company called Vintage Inlines bought up most of Classic Inlines inventory. Minus the heads as they had all been sold but their site currently says they will be taking orders in the near future.

I liked your build but I was disappointed that you didn't start the engine because I believe that it has some cool sounds for sure 👍

Man I just saw the opening and windows movie maker gave me a hard core flashback lol
You seem to be very organized. Great presentation.
Any exhaust header that fits the stock exhaust will fit this new head. However you do not need the port divider. This is a brand new completely redesigned head. All exhaust ports are separate and there is no need for a port divider.
Good Job! Turned out looking very sharp.
i kinda like the 1st air cleaner, but the 2nd one rocks too. well done looks nice.
No prob, and I used a cortico head gasket also purchased from classic inlines, stock thickness. No, I did not do the cam at the same time. That'll be a future upgrade sometime.

@Red8th
Those are actually flexible metal hoses. They came from the "Bling" section of the local Pep-Boys.

@Craig123Jesus
Yes, the head is currently available and is sold by Classic Inlines (dot) com.

@LRobaldo Then why not a "pusher fan" on the other side my friend?
I could use some help. I've got a 68 200ci inline and I'm planning on buying this head too. The engine block is stock. I don't doubt you one bit. The stock iron heads were very far from ideal.
You can get them from ClassicInlines. Just go to their website.
Will this head allow me to hook up a Clifford Performance split header and weld in their 3rd & 4th port divider? Classic Inline's headers sound terrible compared to Clifford Petformance's.

I'm working on doing the same thing you did, but with a 4V and some boost.
Did you do anything to the bottom end?
Where are the overhead cam heads available?
The air filter came from Spectre Performance.
where can i get one... i have a 70 maverick grabber and id like to modify the inline.it really needs it.
Nice, but where's the header?
I'm putting on the Australian head (which is the cast iron version of that cool aluminum ClassicInlines head). I'm going to use some adjustable rocker arms from a 170ci motor... how did you measure the pushrod length you needed?

Great video
Where did you get those non-weaved hose covers from? The ones that run along the valve cover.

Can a 200 head fit on a 250 bloock
Where did you get the low profile air filter? Also, why spend all that money and not put in an electric fan?
Cool video I have a question did u buy the head from classic inlines, because I'm gonna do the same thing but they want to know the clearance and idk it's factory. So what did u do ?And what kind of head gasket did u run, that makes a difference n clearence too

How has the head held up over the years?
Oh that's cool! But is it really worth the money? I could weld in a port divider and get a header for $380 bucks compared
doubled the hp? thats insane
Believe me, we tried! But we could not find an electric fan that would fit between the water pump and the radiator. There just isn't enough clearance.
how much power did that aluminum cylinder head give you?
Sorry I know u got the head from classic I ment to ask did u do the cam as well?
this is exactly what i want to do to my 65 ranchero
what intake is that? id love to get my carb away from m exhaust headers
its from Classic Inlines. Unfortunately the owner of Classic Inlines passed away a couple of years ago. you can check with www.vintageinlines.com as it is my understanding that they have aquired the remaining assets from Classic Inlines.
Automotive pornography. I love this, thanks for uploading.
Jess your right I love it too can't get enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All that power you could have made, would be CHOKING the engine, trying to escape. Should've saved some dough on your pretty rocker cover and bought a set of performance extractors.
Actually we do have a true dual exhaust header on it. Also from Classic Inlines. We installed it right after this video was shot.
Compared to that expensive head. Ain't it like $2K?
classicinlines dotcom and the forums are fordsix . com/forum you need to drop by.
I guesstimate you shaved 30 lbs off the front of that car by switching from cast iron head to aluminum.
That's probably a pretty good estimate!
There's only one place that makes them. ClassicInlines "dot" Com.
If you want a faster car. Just put a v8 in it. It's costly to beef up a turd.
Bv
