I had two slices of bread and a veggie omelet this morning. Sugar shot up to 210. I quickly drank some apple cider vinegar with water and did a few laps around the house. It went down very quickly. My numbers rarely go up that high. A few laps around the house did the trick. It is very true what you said Doc.❤

The bread spiked it. Sub in some more protien. Carbs like breads, pasta, cereal, even dairy (skim milk is the worst) raise blood glucose.

Exercise after eating..vary your exercise like walk and bike and when you bike, pedal fast for 30 seconds, then slow down for 10 seconds, do this again and again for like 10 minutes..its called HIIT, or high intensity interval training. You can also and then sprint and walk and sprint again..

Exercise and water definitely work. Another wonderful help is Sugar MD's Advanced Glucose Support. Last July my A1C was 6.4. That got me really concerned as it was the last prediabetic step before developing T2D. I found Dr. Ergin's channel, website and supplements by accident, watching Dennis Pollock's video. Was very skeptical at first, because I tried so many supplements without any luck. Still, I decided to try. My postprandial glucose went down from the very first dosage. Two months later my A1C - 5.7! Thank you, Dr. Ergin!

Yes, it's generally safe to check your blood sugar 1-2 times a day by pricking your finger, especially if you're monitoring high levels. However, always follow the advice of your healthcare provider for how often you should be testing, as it may vary based on your specific needs.

Good information sugar Doc, yes CGM has delay of about 15 minutes, yes I have to cut down on Novolog if I know I will be exercising ( sometimes no shot at all ) yes liquid lowers my level ( and gives me some energy. ) I have noticed that if I am exercising for enjoyment , the lowering works better than if I am exercising to lower the sugar, don't have an explanation for that yet, maybe has something to do with Cortisol. And yes, sometimes the level goes up when doing vigorous exercise temporarily. learned this years ago and still works. Thanks Sugar Doc for posting for many others that will benefit from this information.

So true...what I do is drink some green tea mixed with a little apple cider vinegar, ceylon cinnamon, lemon juice, and a touch of monkfruit sweetener to kill the ACV taste. I then do 4 sets of a kettlebell excercise at 10 reps each, 4 sets of push ups at 10 reps each, and then 4 sets of leg lifts, at 10 reps each. So I guess 40 reps of each of these. My sugar will drop anywhere from 40-120 pts, depending on what I ate and how high my sugar was. I call this whole routine of drinking the magic tea and then doing these quick exercises my "insulin shot" lol

The first step is to lower carb intake. I like the way Beat Diabetes approaches this. Older, less flexible folks like me can do stretches and indoor walking, you tube has plenty. Indoor walking works well for me if I spike. The doc is right about water, hydration is really important.

My BG gets a bit higher after exercising. I get up and check first thing and it tends to be between 84-95 most days. Then I do my exercise either a 1hr gym workout or a fast stumping walk with leg weights. Check and it is like 98-103. I wait another two hours, and it can be back in the 80s-90s, occasionally in the 70s. Usually, close to my first meal around 10 am to 11. I have been keeping it under 130 post prandial, rarely 140. I do not want to be in the pre diabetic again, or go into full bloom diabetes, no way.

Hold thumb finger swirling it around . Changing from one to the other. Eat Brazilian nut. Last don't worry about it. It will worsen symptoms and mess up your hair. Thank me later

How can I restore loss muscle from type 2? I'm on zero carb zero sugar. I noticed my strength decreased from weight lifting due to loss muscle. I see it in my legs as well. So far i lost 10 pounds on low to no carbs and low to no sugar. I still am able to strength train but not like before with muscle loss. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks..new subscribers... That's normal. There is always an insulin response during a workout. It usually goes back down within 30-40 minutes. It's not unusual to have lower ketones and higher glucose numbers post workout. It's similar to the dawn phenomenon.
